Chapter 118 - NPA

"Come in."

Kurokawa Saki pushed open the door and nodded at the man behind the table. The man was already in his fifties and he looked at Kurokawa Saki helplessly. "I didn't expect that a one year exchange experience would turn into a long four years of experience."

"It's only been 3 and a half years so far," Kurokawa Saki said calmly and then put down the package on the table. "I'll trouble you to check it out."

"Don't worry, it won't take a long time, but… have you been pushing yourself in the past few years?" The middle aged man narrowed his eyes as he looked at Kurokawa Saki.

Even though Kurokawa Saki was resting a lot in the past few weeks, the organization still gave her various missions again and again. It was so tiring that Kurokawa Saki didn't even know what to do as she was still extremely busy.

The black circles under her eyes were still quite visible even after wearing concealer.

"Ah, it's nothing much." Kurokawa Saki shrugged. "I'll rest more when I have the chance."

The middle aged man was speechless. "Will you return after you're done?"

Kurokawa Saki nodded. "Well, that's the plan."

After staying in the Interpol for a long time, she understood that she could be moved to various countries when needed. It was quite tiring and since she was only on a secondment, she could still go back.

This was the knowledge she learned after reading the log.

It might be the system's mercy too because it knew that Kurokawa Saki didn't really like traveling all over the world all the time.

"I'll give you the result as soon as possible." the middle aged man nodded and then waved for Kurokawa Saki to leave.

Kurokawa Saki nodded and left through the tunnel on the back where there were no surveillance cameras. This was the common route for the undercover agents when they really needed to make a report to the National Police Agency. And since it's a public road and many people were using it, it was relatively safe.

She was almost out when she saw someone walking in, also had his appearance covered. This route doesn't necessarily head to the National Police Agency, but there weren't usually many people passing by at such early hours.

The two looked at each other and looked away, passing by without any greetings.

'Black skin… Amuro Toru?' Kurokawa Saki couldn't help but wonder when she saw the other party's appearance. He was wearing a scarf, mask, and a hat, basically concealing his appearance.

It's just that… his dark skin was a bit too prominent in Kurokawa Saki's opinion.

His blond hair was basically mostly covered up, though.

'Well, every time I see him, I'll start wondering if it's already the Poirot arc.'

Kurokawa Saki felt a bit helpless, but this was basically her real thoughts. She couldn't help but wonder about it since he was not supposed to be present during this period of time.

But forget it.

It was not like she'll come here that often.

With that, Kurokawa Saki soon disappeared into the distance.

Amuro Toru clearly didn't expect to see someone here. He rarely came here and this time, he has important files that he had to submit directly. This was obtained from his recent mission that he did not long ago.

The other party was covering up his or her appearance. He couldn't even see the other party's eyes colour with the bangs basically covering it up.

What he could remember is the fact that the other person is much shorter than him.

He or probably she is more like a teenager.

A colleague?

Amuro Toru was not sure.

But this was not the time for him to care because he had to give the report.

Walking to his office, he saw Manager Kuroda was already there and raised his head. There was a flash of understanding in his eyes that he couldn't quite understand.

"Manager?"

"Sorry, I was distracted for a moment." Manager Kuroda smiled and waved his hand. He definitely couldn't say that he mistook the person who came earlier as him only to find him coming next door.

That was the first time he saw the other party and considering the confidentiality of the department next door, he wouldn't be surprised if they have some kind of important mission.

"Yes, this is the report I want to give. The mission this time is to retrieve the information, but I also see something remarkable…" Amuro Toru frowned as he thought about what he had seen not long ago. "He could change his appearance… into a half animal."

If Amuro Toru was not absolutely sure that he was sober, he would think that he was dreaming.

But no.

The video evidence was there and he could see it again if he wanted to.

He had never seen this before in the past few years and this was the recent cooperation that the Black Organization has been involved in. Rum suddenly asked him to cooperate with them, but when he saw what happened over there, he found that the world was more inconceivable than what he expected.

Manager Kuroda said nothing and inserted the flashdisk to check it out. When he saw the video, he frowned and said, "This is the case that Manager Matsuri has been investigating in the past year. He's next door and I didn't know the details of the case. I'll apply for cooperation, but it'll take some time for it to be approved."

Next door?

"Sakura Group?"

"Yes, that's the group that's investigating cases related to special abilities. There are not many people with special abilities all over the world, so they'll also help with other cases occasionally," Manager Kuroda explained. "This is the biggest case in recent years and they have been busy about it. I don't think they'll be happy to have us intervene."

Amuro Toru nodded thoughtfully.

Before this, he had always thought that the Sakura Group only dealt with suspected supernatural incidents. Because the Sakura Group always gave the public a very scientific explanation for many mysterious incidents, the actual scope of their responsibilities remained a question even within the Metropolitan Police Department's Public Security Bureau.

But now he had to start rethinking that there were indeed some things that couldn't be explained by science.

But the problem of his worldview shattering is not the main problem.

The authority for these two departments was really high and even if he wanted to cooperate, it wouldn't be so easy.

The other party would definitely request for them to lead the investigation.

But he couldn't just hand over the lead to others.

This is troublesome.

Kurokawa Saki didn't know that there would be cases related to people with special abilities so soon after she and her group talked about it. After all, they were only wondering what no. 10 had seen and Kurokawa Saki asked Aunt Kira to trace the location of no. 10 during their performance.

But if she wanted to check in details, she might need to go in person.

'People with special abilities will have traces of energy fluctuation when they use their abilities.'

This was something that she found out when she used her ability after the mainline started. Before the mainline started, it seemed that they were completely protected by the game system for some reasons and thus other people were unable to sense anything wrong with them.

Kurokawa Saki had also met with people with special abilities in the past three years, but she never found what was truly special from them.

It seemed that the game system required them to run it for three years in order to let them truly blend with this world.

Or something like that.

She was not entirely sure.

But just when Kurokawa Saki was thinking about it, the game system suddenly sounded.

[Ding! It's detected that there will be people with special abilities involved with the Black Organization and will have confrontation with the Red Party soon. There will be special case segments. Calculating…

It's detected that Conan will get involved due to his special circumstances. Would you like to participate in the case? Should you be able to make a contribution, be it towards eradication of the force or against the red party in this special case, you will be rewarded. Maximum reward per arc: 50 skill points, 50 fun points]

[y/n]

Kurokawa Saki looked at the screen in front of her and decisively chose yes.

No matter what, she also has some special abilities… even though her ability was not exactly for attacking or anything like that, but she believed that she would be fine. The three additional talents that were given to her were also very useful and in the past few days, she had made a lot of small gadgets to play with.

Well… they were definitely not as good as what Professor Agasa made.

But at least, she didn't have to trouble others about it.

After all, some of the things that she made were a bit… *ahem*

[It's determined that 12 out of 12 decided to participate in the special arc. Be prepared as the first case will happen soon]
