Chapter 179 - Interaction

But he blended in the mall, so Bourbon called Sake.

He actually also wanted to call the public security, but he didn't dare to be so blatant. Shiraz was watching over him just a few feet away.

"Sake, why do you have to join in?" Shiraz was furious. It felt as if they were not trusted.

"Ah, it's because you took a long time," Sake replied. She had already let Uncle Kenan go to pick the person up if necessary.

After all, she might need to shoot.

Her voice had changed to that of Sake's voice. Whenever she wears this disguise, she will disguise her voice.

Even though maintaining secrecy is a fundamental quality of intelligence personnel and not action team personnel, Sake was still wary of things. What if someone recorded her voice and used it against her? One must always be cautious.

"Let me tell you about the current situation." Shiraz had to endure and cooperate.

He began by explaining in detail how the target of the mission, the president of a trading company originally under the organization's control, had secretly been gathering intelligence in an attempt to escape control.

They finally managed to track him here after injuring him, but they couldn't find him among so many people. He should have purposely hid his face and the surveillance cameras here was lacking.

So they hadn't been able to move.

Quiet breathing echoed through the headset, revealing its owner's contemplation.

Bourbon only said that they found the target entering the mall.

Their goal was to kill this traitor.

Bourbon had been silent since the call started. He didn't know what he expected, but he hoped these two people could fight. Unfortunately, it seemed that Shiraz was actually rational enough.

Even more frustrating, his entire fate depended on others, and he could only wait.

This time it's not his mission and there were not enough of his people in Kyoto that he transferred over. After all, too many people being moved overnight will be suspicious.

Through binoculars, he watched an elderly man with his face covered in a scarf walking inside. His demeanor was indistinguishable from the others, blending seamlessly into the crowd.

Bourbon flicked his finger, and the phone slung across his back briefly lit up. Then, a middle-aged man peered out the back door of the mall.

With his unsteady legs, he trotted towards a parked taxi.

"There's a suspicious individual." Shiraz immediately noticed the guy.

"We can't let him get away," Bourbon chimed in. "Hurry and send someone after him!"

Shiraz had only brought a few helpers with him on this trip. As long as they could distract the other men, even if they realized their target was wrong, they would be powerless to stop the situation.

They have been running around for a long time and the other people were chasing after the other target.

Bourbon watched as Shiraz was about to command when a voice interrupted them

"He's the bait," the voice in the headset poured down a bucket of cold water. "Someone's helping the target escape. Did the information leak?"

"It couldn't have been me." Shiraz snorted. He didn't dare to betray the organization.

"Then it could be your men," Sake sounded calm.

"Tsk, they wouldn't do it." Shiraz believed in his men and then he thought about something. "Why can't it be you, Sake?"

"Ask Malbec." Sake had already set up her sniper rifle right now. 800 yards away and there's a clear view from here. "That is if he dares to tell you."

Shiraz sneered.

Bourbon was listening from the side, feeling that Sake's status was really high. Vodka told him that Gin didn't want to provoke him and it was obvious from his behaviour of tolerating Sake.

Now, Sake's words revealed that there might be some secrets.

Unfortunately, Sake has always been active in other regions before this. This caused him to have nearly no information about the other party.

Even their missions didn't allow him to know much.

Sake will come and leave as he pleases.

A very troublesome and annoying guy.

"Then…" Shiraz noticed Bourbon on the side and asked, "Could it be you, Bourbon?"

Bourbon clenched his teeth, his expression perfectly calm. "I'm assuming you still remember that it was you who invited me on this mission and I have no prior information before today."

"We can't rule out the possibility that the target of the mission will proactively seek outside assistance." Sake was calm.

She knew very well that it must be Bourbon, but she would not lead the conversation in this direction.

"That makes sense." Shiraz calmed down slightly.

Bourbon clenched teeth did not loosen, but tightened even more.

Why did Sake help him?

What is his purpose?

What does he want from him?

Their relationship has been pretty bad and it was obvious that Sake had long wanted to kill him. If he framed him as an undercover agent, it would be easy for Sake to eliminate him.

Bourbon's mind turned rapidly before he forced himself to calm down.

He had been here for years and knew that he couldn't save everyone.

What he could do was simply to try his best.

"Since he is a bait, who is the real target?" Shiraz gave up thinking completely.

"Why not shoot into the air?"

Shiraz was puzzled, but he still did as Sake said. Anyway, if the operation fails, he could still quibble that it was because of Sake and not his mistake.

He pulled out his gun, pointed the muzzle upwards and pulled the trigger.

"Bang!"

In an instant, the crowd on the ground scattered like birds and beasts, and screams rang out one after another.

The inconvenience of old age and being shot in the calf are two completely different diseases. The difference is not noticeable when walking slowly, but the difference is very obvious when running for life!

The target, startled, ran desperately, dragging his injured leg, completely ruining the police's cover!

Bang!

A gunshot came towards the target, rendering him unable to do anything and fell down.

Sake watched from the distance and said, "Mission accomplished."

After that, she left.

Shiraz frowned and looked at the distance where the bullet came from before cursing in a low voice. Sake's sniping ability was really strong and it was really among the top in the organization.

Even from his side, there were not many people who had such capability.

Tsk, he really wanted to ask Malbec about this annoying Sake.

Bourbon looked at the fallen man and clenched his fist before he left. He could see that Sake's mind was also very good and when doing organization missions, his planning ability was no less than those of the intelligent departments.

This was not the first time he saw it but each time, Bourbon would feel cold. His ruthless method and fearlessness made it even more difficult to catch his handle.

Even though Sake only showed his intelligence from time to time and most of the time, he only focused on sniping the target that had been lured over and made things difficult for him. Each time he did, Bourbon felt as if there was a mountain pressing on them.

It was really suffocating.

He lowered his head and thought about the last person, intending to fight to the death.

But as luck would have it, Sake accidentally bumped with the target and killed him before the others could arrive.

After that, Sake asked Bourbon to retrieve the information and send her a copy.

He could only obey.

Besides, he needed the information too.

So the next day, Sake was looking at the information in her hand happily and forwarded it to Karin.

She will stay here for a few more days until Conan is done.

But she would not do any action missions again.

It's time for information gathering.

…

A few days later, she saw that the group was utterly exhausted.

Given that they had a long chase with the thieves, Hikari Yuki somewhat understood the reason.

"Are you going back to Tokyo?" Hikari Yuki asked.

"I'm planning to go to Osaka first and let them rest there," Kazuha pointed at the two people who were sleeping. "They're such a fool for exhausting themselves."

Hikari Yuki smiled politely in response.
