"Felix! You've got to watch the news with us." Kip approached Felix in the cafeteria. Felix ate an egg salad sandwich at the table.
"Why?" Felix raised an eyebrow.
"Because things are really bad in Intermarium! Come to the common room."
Felix gasped and followed Kip to the common room. Nova sat on the sofa as Felix stared at the television hanging on the wall.
A news reporter said, "Ethan's dam has been bombed. Kipford Town is flooded. Yesmin Trixie, the ruler from Jayland, has announced that she's sending an emergency crew to rescue people from the flood."
"Kipford is my hometown." Felix's heart hammered in his chest.
The camera showed the roof of Felix's house sticking up out of the water.
"That's my house! It's been flooded." Felix cried out. Kip grabbed the remote control from the table to turn off the television. Nova rubbed Felix's back and said, "I pray that your family isn't in your house right now."
