"DXD: Multiverse Journey"Chapter 213: Sawa Awakens—Graveyard Temptation
Kurumi took a deep breath, her eyes shining with hope as she looked up at Shuo.
"So… when will Sawa wake up?"
Shuo glanced at the soul hovering before them, his playful grin fading into quiet thought.
"If you want her fully revived, I'll need to rebuild her body. But her soul's patched up now—she should come to any minute."
Kurumi curled deeper into Shuo's arms, relief lighting up her face.
"That's wonderful!"
Her smile—soft, genuine, and radiant—made her seem even more breathtaking than usual.
Shuo nudged her gently.
"Hey, Kurumi."
"Mm?"
"You're all healed up now, right?"
"Eh?"
"Don't get me wrong, holding you's great and all, but my legs are about to fall asleep. Maybe you could… get up?"
Kurumi rolled her eyes, cheeks puffed in mock outrage.
"Wow, Nangong-kun, way to break a girl's heart. Besides, I'm still weak, so you have to take care of me!"
She pressed closer, feigning exhaustion, her school uniform brushing against his chest—pure innocence with a hint of wicked charm.
Shuo swallowed, heart pounding. Kurumi had no idea how dangerous she was.
He smirked.
Kurumi might act like a seasoned flirt, but deep down she was still as innocent as they come. He had plenty of ways to handle her—no need for brute force, just a little playful payback.
Before she could protest, Shuo leaned down and kissed her—firm, unyielding.
Kurumi stiffened, caught off guard. Her mind went blank; instinctively, she pushed at his chest, but it was hopeless.
Soon she lost the will to resist, surrendering to his embrace.
When Shuo finally let her go, Kurumi lay against his chest, cheeks flushed, lips curved in a sly smile.
"My, my, Nangong-kun… you're pretty bold. Aren't you afraid someone might see us?"
Shuo just laughed.
"What's the difference? No one's around—except us."
Just then, a teasing voice floated over.
"Hehe, that's where you're wrong, handsome. I saw everything! And Kurumi, when did you get so daring?"
"Eh—eh—eh?!"
Kurumi jolted, scrambling out of Shuo's lap and spinning toward the voice.
Sawa's soul was awake, floating before them.
Chestnut hair in twin braids, a warm smile, the black Sakura Girls' Academy sailor uniform—just as Kurumi remembered, but now ethereal, shimmering in the air.
"S-Sawa? Is that really you?!"
Kurumi's uncovered red eye glistened with disbelief.
Sawa nodded, her voice gentle but lively.
"Yep, it's me."
They stared at each other for a heartbeat, then Sawa drifted closer, smiling.
"It's been ages, Kurumi-chan."
Kurumi's eyes brimmed with tears, her smile trembling.
"I can't believe it… Sawa, it's really you!"
Sawa grinned, nodding again.
Then her expression softened, guilt flickering across her features.
"Kurumi-chan, I know everything you've done for me all these years. I'm sorry… for making you suffer so much."
The words broke Kurumi's last defenses. Tears spilled down her cheeks.
Sawa blinked, then her tone flipped back to playful.
"Wait, why are you crying? You were just making out with a cute guy—now you're bawling? That's not the Kurumi I remember."
She leaned in, voice mischievous.
"Seriously, Kurumi-chan, you've gotten wild. Kissing at someone's grave? That's… pretty spicy."
Kurumi's blush flared, mortification written all over her face.
Even her usual bravado couldn't withstand Sawa's teasing.
With Kurumi thoroughly flustered, Shuo and Sawa were left facing each other—one boy, one soul.
Shuo started to greet her, but Sawa beat him to it, floating closer with a sweet smile.
"So you're the handsome guy who split me from Kurumi's inverse form? Thanks for helping us out."
Shuo grinned, clearly pleased.
"Sawa, you're too sweet."
He gave her a playful look.
"Since I did you both such a big favor… shouldn't there be a reward?"
Kurumi and Sawa both blushed, cheeks red as apples.
Sawa's eyes sparkled with mischief.
"A reward? Maybe I should just give Kurumi-chan to you."
She shot Kurumi a sly look, fully aware of her friend's feelings for Shuo.
Kurumi flashed a wicked smile.
"Oh? Selling me out, Sawa? Maybe I should give you to Nangong-kun instead. What do you think?"
The two girls traded grins, their banter full of competitive affection.
