"DXD: Multiverse Journey"Chapter 216: Thugs on the Prowl—Protecting Our Kurumi
"Ara, Shuo-chan, you really are incorrigible."
Kurumi's lips curled into a knowing smile as she placed the two cute, lacy bras back on the rack. Slowly, she strolled over to the black, almost transparent lingerie—the one that screamed trouble—and picked it up with the delicacy of someone handling forbidden fruit.
Even for someone as poised as Kurumi, the sight of that barely-there lace made her cheeks flush a deep crimson.
Shuo just shrugged, feigning innocence.
"Honestly? These days, I'm a fan of going commando. But if I had to pick, this would look incredible on you, Kurumi-chan."
Kurumi giggled, her voice low and sweet.
"Well, since Shuo-chan picked it just for me, I'll give it a try. But you have to help me judge if it fits, okay?"
"Absolutely. Once you put it on, please—let me inspect it thoroughly."
Shuo's tone was comically solemn, but his eyes sparkled with anticipation.
Kurumi disappeared into the fitting room, and Shuo couldn't stop a sly grin from tugging at his lips.
He told himself he was just appreciating aesthetics—nothing more.
Still, he couldn't help but wonder: Was he really turning into a full-blown pervert?
Maybe Origami's influence was rubbing off on him… or maybe this was just his true nature coming out.
Lost in thought, Shuo barely noticed as someone blocked his light.
He looked up to see Sawa standing over him, still in her Raizen High uniform.
"Um, Shuo-kun… why are you just sitting here? This is a women's lingerie store, you know."
Sawa's eyes flickered with suspicion—no sane guy would plant himself here without an ulterior motive.
Shuo just grinned.
"Hey, Sawa. I'm helping Kurumi pick out lingerie. Want me to help you, too? I have excellent taste, you know."
The suggestion made Sawa freeze, then blush furiously, the color racing up her neck.
Letting a guy she barely knew pick out her underwear? No way.
"N-no thanks! I'll choose for myself!"
She tried to sound calm, but her voice quivered. Then she spun on her heel and hurried away, not daring to look back.
Shuo watched her retreat, amused.
She could run now, but sooner or later, the former Flame Spirit would be his.
Just then, Kurumi poked her head out from the fitting room, cheeks still tinted pink.
"Um, Shuo-chan… could you come see if this suits me?"
From across the store, Sawa gawked, scandalized, as Shuo got up and followed Kurumi inside.
Once the door closed, Shuo traced a quick spell, sealing the fitting room from the outside world—just in case.
Inside, Kurumi stood before him, body far too alluring for her supposed age, clad in the sheer lace he'd chosen. The half-transparent fabric revealed long, flawless legs; every movement sent ripples of light across her skin.
Shuo's gaze lingered, drawn inexorably downward, hungry for every detail the lace barely concealed.
Kurumi noticed, but only smiled.
"So, Shuo-chan—what do you think?"
She tried to glance down at herself, but all she could see were her toes. A faint pout creased her lips.
Shuo took a steadying breath.
"Do you want the truth?"
Kurumi lifted her chin, eyes bright. "Of course I do."
He let his gaze roam, face growing serious.
"Does it look bad?"
Kurumi's eyes flickered with disappointment, her shoulders drooping.
But Shuo shook his head, voice firm.
"No. You look… incredible. So incredible I can barely keep myself together."
Kurumi blinked, then followed his gaze downward—realization dawning. She burst out laughing.
"Hehe, Shuo-chan, you're terrible! But I'm really happy you like it."
She slid her arms around his neck, rising onto tiptoe to press her lips to his.
The kiss was slow, sweet, and quickly grew heated. Shuo's arms wrapped around her, drawing her close, letting the softness of her body and the heat of her breath wash over him.
Kurumi shivered, feeling the evidence of his excitement against her stomach.
She was no innocent—forty years of life had taught her exactly what that meant. Still, the rush of embarrassment made her heart race.
They only broke apart when breathless, Kurumi collapsing against his chest, her eyes hazy.
"Ara ara… I don't know why, but I can't hold back anymore. I want to become one with you, Shuo-chan."
Her voice was low, trembling with longing.
Shuo stroked her hair, smiling gently.
"I wouldn't mind at all. But Sawa's still waiting outside. Let's save this—something this precious—for next time."
Kurumi nodded, a little regretful but still smiling.
"You're right."
A few minutes later, the three of them emerged from the shop. Shuo juggled a mountain of shopping bags—including Kurumi's new lingerie.
As for how Kurumi changed clothes? She did it right in front of Shuo, of course—after all, he insisted it was for her safety. There could be thugs lurking anywhere, and a locked door wasn't enough. He had to stay vigilant.
Or so he claimed.
Out in front of the mall, Sawa eyed Kurumi with a wicked grin.
"So, Kurumi, when Shuo-kun went into the fitting room with you… did anything happen? Did he pin you down in there?"
Kurumi's face darkened to pitch black, but instead of snapping, she flashed a sinister smile.
"Ara, Sawa, it's been so long since we've seen each other. Let's share a room tonight. We can have a nice, long chat."
Sawa blanched.
"N-no, I don't want to share a room with you! I'm sorry, I take it back, please forgive me!"
But Sawa had clearly forgotten just how twisted Kurumi's sense of humor could be.
Seeing her friend's panic only made Kurumi more gleeful, her teasing growing ever more relentless.
