"DXD: Multiverse Journey"Chapter 221: Sneaky Moves and Origami's Exorcism
Dawn crept in, painting the world with soft gold as night's shadows faded. Shuo stretched, muscles loose and mind clear, glancing at the two girls sleeping soundly on either side—still knocked out after last night's "battle." After days of abstinence, finally indulging had left him feeling better than ever.
With Tohka and Origami both "injured" and taking sick leave, Shuo yawned his way to school alone. By the time he reached the classroom, lessons were already underway. Reine stood at the podium, her voice as lazy as ever.
"Nangong-kun, it's exam time. No entry after the first fifteen minutes."
Shuo froze, the memory of yesterday's wildness hitting him like a brick. Exam day—just his luck.
Noticing the odd looks from Shitori, Kurumi, and the rest, Shuo inhaled, forced a smile, and said, "Sorry for interrupting." He spun on his heel and walked out, leaving behind nothing but an elegant silhouette.
Honestly, he was so embarrassed he could've dug a hole deep enough for a two-bedroom apartment.
With nothing else to do, Shuo wandered the campus aimlessly. As he passed through a copse of trees, his enhanced hearing picked up the unmistakable sounds of young couples sneaking in some romance.
Spring fever, huh? Time to teach these kids a lesson.
A thought and a flicker of power—Shuo transformed into the spitting image of a stern, bald disciplinary director. He pinched his voice sharp and barked,
"Trouble! The school director's heading this way!"
Panic erupted in the grove. Couples scrambled—some yanking up their pants, others frozen in shock. Shuo blocked their escape, face grave.
"You lot! Sneaking off during exams to mess around in the woods… If I don't see ten-thousand-word apologies on my desk tomorrow, I'm calling your parents!"
The students gawked at the familiar bald figure, faces falling into pure despair. Tears and groans, they scattered to write their essays.
Shuo nodded, satisfied. He'd been caught in the rain before; now it was his turn to shred a few umbrellas. Call it tough love—better to taste bitterness now than swallow life's hardships later.
Watching the retreating backs, Shuo let out a melodramatic sigh.
"One good deed a day—am I not the model citizen of Tenguu City? A true hero for the cause of education."
"All this effort to save the clueless youth… Someday, they'll thank me."
A few days later, the real bald director stared at the pile of self-criticisms on his desk, lost in confusion.
After his "good deed," Shuo continued his campus patrol—ostensibly for safety, but really hunting for more thrill-seeking couples to "educate." Half an hour later, he left the school, shaking his head.
Seriously, the kids here were bold. In thirty minutes, he'd caught dozens in the library, the nurse's office, the gym—every corner had its own drama.
After doling out stern lectures and life lessons, Shuo finally headed home.
Back in Origami's room, he found her awake, eyes glued to her phone—so absorbed she didn't even notice him come in.
"What's got you so focused?" Shuo asked, settling beside her. He leaned in, stole a kiss, then peeked at her screen.
First search: "Chances of pregnancy without protection?"
Second: "Early signs of pregnancy?"
Third: "What to watch for after getting pregnant?"
Fourth: "Is it better to have a boy or a girl?"
Fifth: "What do you need to prepare for raising a baby?"
Sixth: …and on and on.
Shuo couldn't help but laugh. Origami was planning way ahead.
Not that it mattered—given his spirit-level biology and the girls' own unique constitutions, the odds of conception were practically zero.
Origami turned, nestling into his chest, her smile radiant.
"Shuo, would you rather have a boy or a girl?"
Shuo inhaled the scent of her hair, voice gentle.
"Doesn't matter. Boy or girl, I'll love them all—and you most of all."
Origami nuzzled closer, her face relaxed and content.
"How's your body feeling?"
Her cheeks flared red, voice barely above a whisper.
"Much better… just a little awkward."
"Good." Shuo gathered a surge of life energy, channeling it into her. Origami shivered, a soft, involuntary sound escaping her lips.
Green light faded. Origami blinked in surprise—all soreness gone, only a faint unfamiliarity lingering.
They held each other for a while, warmth passing between them. Suddenly, Origami trembled, looking up at Shuo with a shy flush.
"Shuo…"
Shuo smiled, a little embarrassed.
"With you in my arms, dressed like this…"
Origami glanced at the still-slumbering Tohka, a bold idea flickering in her mind.
"Don't move, Shuo."
"Alright."
He watched, curiosity piqued, as Origami slowly lowered her head…
Across the room, Tohka mumbled in her sleep, half-dreaming of food.
"Stupid Origami… sneaking snacks without me… I want some too…"
Origami startled, but seeing Tohka was only sleep-talking, she relaxed—then bent back to her "exorcism work," undisturbed.
