"DXD: Multiverse Journey"Chapter 226: School Trip, and Ellen the Physical Disaster

July 17th, outside Tengu City Airport.

The second-year students of Raizen High School milled about in the summer heat, luggage in tow, all bound for the legendary school trip to Orumi Island. The air buzzed with anticipation, laughter, and the occasional shriek as friends reunited or compared suitcases.

Soon enough, Tamae-sensei and Reine appeared, shepherding the group into the bustling airport. Tickets in hand, everyone shuffled through security and boarded the plane, searching for their seats among the three-across rows.

Kurumi and Origami wasted no time, snagging the coveted seats beside Shuo. Kaguya and Shiori settled in just across the aisle. Curiously, Tohka didn't even try to compete for Shuo's side—she'd chosen instead to sit with the infamous "Three Idiots" of the class, the legendary chaos trio of Raizen.

As for Kotori, Nia, and the rest, they'd simply used the teleportation array Shuo had set up, skipping the flight entirely and heading straight to Orumi Island.

Onboard, the mood was light—Kurumi, Origami, and the others bantered with Shuo, laughter rising above the drone of the engines. But suddenly, Shuo felt a prickling sensation—someone was watching him.

He glanced over and locked eyes with a stranger. Shuo smiled and nodded in greeting, but the woman instantly averted her gaze, almost as if she'd been caught red-handed.

Shuo rubbed his nose, a little bemused. Was he really that intimidating?

Even in disguise, he'd recognized her immediately:

Ellen Mira Mathers, DEM's First Wizard.

Right now, Ellen—her blue cap pulled low—was peeking through the seat gaps, quietly observing the Spirit girls scattered throughout the cabin. Nightmare, Princess… even the man who'd rescued the Hermit and Diva was here.

Ellen's fingers hovered over her camera, but after a moment's hesitation, she tucked it away. No way. She wasn't about to provoke that man, not in a pressurized metal tube thirty thousand feet in the air. If a fight broke out, everyone on board would be doomed.

Meanwhile, Kurumi and the others had noticed Shuo's brief distraction.

"What's up?" Kurumi asked, eyebrow raised.

Shuo grinned. "Just spotted an interesting idiot. Looks like this trip's about to get a lot more fun. Kurumi, you know her—she's the so-called world's strongest wizard. Ellen."

Kurumi's face paled.

"Ellen? She's here?!"

Memories flashed—Ellen's cold smile, the countless times she'd wiped out Kurumi's clones. Not just a top agent of DEM, but one of its founders, and one of the masterminds behind the First Spirit.

Now she was on their flight. Kurumi's grip on her arm tightened.

Shuo noticed, and gently took her hand.

"Hey. Relax. I'm here. No one's going to hurt you."

Kurumi looked at him, feeling the warmth of his touch. Her fear melted away, replaced by a quiet confidence.

That's right. With him here, why worry?

Shuo leaned closer, dropping his voice to a conspiratorial whisper.

"By the way, you probably don't know—Ellen's actually a total airhead. Kind of a child, really. Without her Realizer suit, she's basically a regular person. A couple of high school girls could hold her down."

He smirked, recalling a certain incident.

"And her athletic skills? Below average. She needs a floatation board just to swim, and her hundred-meter sprint time is… 21.5 seconds."

Kurumi stared at him, dumbfounded.

"Are you serious? That… that's the world's strongest wizard?"

Shuo just grinned wider, enjoying her disbelief.

Three hours later, after a bumpy flight and endless idle chatter, the plane finally touched down on Orumi Island—a floating jewel in the Pacific.

The moment they stepped out of the airport, Tohka's eyes went comically wide.

"Wow… this is the ocean?"

She dashed forward, arms spread, spinning in the salty air. Her excitement was infectious.

Shuo couldn't help but smile. For Tohka, this was her first time seeing the sea in person.

All around them, golden sand stretched out beneath their feet, the breeze carrying the tang of salt and the promise of adventure. The horizon was a seamless blend of cerulean sea and cloudless sky—a sight that made everyone pause, just for a moment, to take it in.

After dropping their luggage and regrouping, the boys in the class looked like they'd just been punched in the gut.

Shuo had somehow acquired an entourage of beautiful girls—Kotori, Yoshino, Nia, Mana—all materializing via teleportation.

"What the hell? Those girls—don't tell me—"

"So unfair!"

"Damn you, normies!"

"Riajuu must explode!"

"…"

With everyone assembled, the teachers gave a quick rundown of the rules and safety tips. Then, with a final "You're dismissed!" from Tamae-sensei and a cheer from the students, the school trip officially began.

"Shuo-kun, any plans for the trip?" Shiori asked, eyes sparkling.

Shuo flashed a knowing grin.

"Of course! I've got everything mapped out."

Really, what else did you need? Sun, sand, ocean, and a squad of Spirit girls in swimwear—this was living.

Since they'd be here for three days, Shuo had already rented a luxury villa by the shore. As for the cost? Please. Between him and Nia, they'd published enough bestsellers from other worlds to buy the whole island if they wanted.

The girls nodded, excitement building as Shuo led them down a palm-lined path to their temporary home.

The villa loomed ahead—four stories tall, surrounded by a white fence, a bubbling fountain in the courtyard. Inside, the entryway opened into a sunlit hall, a crystal chandelier sparkling overhead. Plush sofas, an enormous TV, a gleaming kitchen, and more bedrooms than they could possibly need.

"Plenty of rooms for everyone," Shuo announced. "Pick your favorite, get changed, and let's hit the beach!"

With a flourish, he produced their luggage from his system space. The real fun was about to begin.
