Chapter 74 - Chapter 74 Thanos And Allens

Earth, Sokovia. Inside Allens' Ultron base, in the top-level core laboratory, Allens lay inside the Regeneration Cradle. The power of the Mind Stone began connecting to his brain through the pineal gland.

Standing beside the cradle, Dr. Helen Cho and Wanda Maximoff, the Scarlet Witch, watched the surrounding environment shift and mutate with fascination.

Golden sunlight poured over the valley, turning the land vibrant green. Strange alien fruits and melons grew from the soil, filling the air with a tempting aroma that made one's appetite surge.

"What a beautiful environment… such a dreamlike view," Dr. Cho whispered, her eyes sparkling. This landscape was nothing more than a psychic illusion of the Mind Stone—yet even an illusion this peaceful could stir the heart.

Meanwhile, on the planet Morag, deep within the Dark Aster battleship, Thanos sat upon his floating throne, his consciousness sinking into the depths of his spiritual world.

"It's truly beautiful," he murmured. "No wonder I would one day choose such a place for retirement."

Within this inner world, Allens stood in the fields of alien fruit, admiring the dreamlike scenery. This was Thanos' private sanctuary—the spiritual vision of the garden he longed for after fulfilling his mission with the Snap.

"You entered my mind through the Mind Stone, human."

Thanos emerged beside him, his gaze lingering on the tranquil fields. Though his eyes held melancholy and the weight of endless years, he showed no intent to destroy his own sanctuary. Even as the Dark Emperor of the cosmos, he cherished this peaceful inner place.

"Thanos… at last, we meet," Allens said calmly. He neither agreed with nor outright opposed Thanos' philosophy. To wipe out half of all life in the universe at random—allowing the survivors to enjoy and better use limited resources—was, in essence, not without logic. But the method… it was too extreme.

Thanos saw himself as the chosen hand of destiny, bound to erase half of all existence—human, alien, or god alike. He bore no hatred, no prejudice. His mission was absolute and impartial.

"Let me introduce myself. My name is Allens."

Thanos' cold, merciless gaze locked onto him. "Allens… what is your purpose in invading my spiritual world?"

Though wary, Thanos was calm. He had glimpsed the future and understood his mission would be fulfilled. He also knew no ordinary being could ever intrude upon his mind. His spiritual defenses were unbreakable—strong enough that even Mantis, with her extraordinary gifts, could only restrain him for mere seconds.

"Thanos, I can see the anger deep in your heart," Allens replied. "You're furious—furious about the time-travel plan the Avengers of the future have set into motion."

Thanos' eyes narrowed as Allens waved his hand. Within the Mind Realm, visions of the future unfolded before them. Thanos saw himself in 2023, locked in battle with the Avengers. His Black Order clashed with the armies of Wakanda. He himself dueled Earth's mightiest heroes.

Though he defeated them all, the Infinity Gauntlet slipped from his grasp. In the end, Iron Man—Tony Stark—snapped his fingers, turning Thanos and his legion to dust.

The vision faded. Thanos' expression did not change, though his gaze grew darker.

"The Avengers' quantum travel is nothing more than an attempt to force a timeline where they emerge victorious," Thanos said. He understood the danger—each jump through time created countless divergent realities. Even the Titans had never dared to recklessly tamper with such forces.

Yet what intrigued him now was Allens. To use the Mind Stone to project spiritual consciousness all the way to Morag, to intrude upon Thanos' mind—that was no ordinary feat.

Thanos strode closer, towering over Allens. From the glow of his soul, he glimpsed Allens' true body lying within the Regeneration Cradle.

"Your body is unusual. The Mind Stone is merging with you… I see a powerful figure rising swiftly."

But though Thanos' immense size loomed over him, Allens remained unmoved. A faint, meaningful smile spread across Thanos' face.

"Knowing you will fail, yet still pushing forward… You are indeed Thanos, the Emperor of the Universe," Allens said with a smile, his form growing faint, his psychic presence weakening.

"Thanos, I came here only to seek an answer. If you leave this world… will a new timeline be born?"

Thanos' eyes sharpened. "No. My departure will not create another timeline. This is already a separate one."

He gazed out at his dreamlike inner world—the life of peace he longed for after completing his destiny. But deep within, he sensed the truth: once his mission ended, this reality itself would collapse. That was why anger still burned in him, pushing him to consider using the Infinity Stones to rebuild the universe itself.

"The quantum realm is chaos—disorder without end. To delude oneself into traveling it, seeking to alter fate, is folly. The Avengers will suffer the consequences of their arrogance. The multiverse is already opening its doors."

His voice hardened. "This world, this timeline, is mine."

Thanos' eyes blazed with ruthless certainty.

A jolt of shock rippled through Allens. His spiritual form wavered, his consciousness yanked back to his body on Earth.

When he awoke, his mind sensed Thanos had vanished from Morag—no doubt stepping into the future through a quantum channel.

"The hand of destiny…" Allens whispered. "That destiny now belongs to me."

In the same instant, the Regeneration Cradle erupted in a violent explosion. Allens opened his eyes and leapt upright.
