Chapter 158 - Chapter 158 The Stunned Thor

In a quiet town in New Mexico, Lucy — a young, beautiful woman — stared curiously at the muscular man sitting across from her, devouring a burger. His chiseled abs and broad chest left her speechless.

"You're saying… you're Thor? The God of Thunder? From Asgard?"

Beside her, Jane Foster frowned, clearly skeptical of the man's claim.

It had been about an hour since she and her team had rescued this strange man who had literally fallen from the sky just outside of town.

Within that time, Jane and her colleagues had learned a few things: this man claimed to be Thor Odinson, the eldest son of Odin — the King of Asgard.

"Thor Odinson…" said Dr. Erik Selvig, the astrophysicist seated beside them. "According to Norse mythology, Thor is indeed the son of Odin. Jane, maybe… maybe what he's saying isn't impossible."

Dr. Selvig had spent his life studying the relationship between Norse mythology and cosmic phenomena. Now, faced with a living embodiment of myth, part of him hoped it was true.

"Another drink! The ale of Midgard is weak," Thor declared loudly, grinning as he raised his glass, "but it has… an interesting flavor!"

Though stripped of his divine power by Odin, Thor still possessed the stamina of a warrior — and a fondness for strong drink.

He downed the vodka in one gulp, then tossed the glass to the floor with a loud crash!

The sound made every diner in the restaurant turn to stare. Thor ignored them completely, patting the table with both hands. "More! Bring me more of your finest spirits!"

"Hey, hey! Buddy!" Dr. Selvig scolded, his brow furrowed. "Whether you're Thor or not, maybe try blending in a little, huh?"

He shot Jane a look, silently urging her to smooth things over with the restaurant owner.

"What? You people of Midgard don't smash your glasses after drinking?" Thor asked, genuinely confused.

Jane sighed. "No, we don't."

Still, Thor remembered Odin's lesson about humility — "Do as the mortals do." Stripped of his godhood, Thor decided he should experience mortal life properly.

But before he could finish his meal, several customers nearby began whispering about a strange hammer that had fallen from the sky.

At once, Thor's eyes lit up. The hammer they spoke of could only be one thing — Mjolnir.

After eating, he quickly convinced Jane, Selvig, and Lucy to take him to the crash site.

When they arrived, however, they found the entire area cordoned off by government agents. A massive containment perimeter surrounded the crater. The site had been taken over by S.H.I.E.L.D.

"Hey, Thor," Jane said, frowning. "This whole area's locked down by the government. There's no way we're getting through."

Thor's expression darkened, but before Jane could continue, a team of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents emerged from the restricted zone. The person leading them made Jane freeze.

Her jaw dropped. "Oh my God… that's Captain America—Steve Rogers?!"

Lucy gasped, eyes wide with disbelief. Even Dr. Selvig, though calmer, was visibly stunned.

"Are you the leader here?" Thor asked bluntly, stepping toward Steve Rogers without hesitation.

Completely unaware of who the legendary super-soldier was, Thor clapped a hand on Steve's shoulder. "I am Thor Odinson of Asgard, first son of Odin, King of the Gods!"

He spoke with his usual pride, as if addressing a royal court.

Steve raised an eyebrow. "Thor, huh? You talk just like Tony Stark — and that's not a compliment."

With a faint shake of his head, Rogers traced a glowing circle with his hand. A whip of golden energy materialized and wrapped tightly around Thor.

"What the—?! Is that… magic?!" Jane blurted out, eyes wide.

Lucy and Selvig were equally shocked. The world knew Captain America as a hero, a soldier, a symbol — but not as a sorcerer.

"Agent Coulson," Steve called out over his shoulder, "take Jane Foster and the others. Keep them safe."

"Yes, sir," Phil Coulson replied immediately, motioning for the team to follow him.

Meanwhile, Rogers lifted the bound Thor effortlessly, carrying him toward the center of the restricted area.

"I know why you're here, Thor," Rogers said evenly. "But I'm afraid this time… you're not going to like the outcome."

At the center of the crater lay a hammer — heavy, silent, radiating power.

"Mjolnir," Thor breathed, eyes bright with hope.

The magical restraints binding him vanished, and Thor strode forward eagerly. "Father, I'll prove myself! You'll see your son is no failure!"

He gripped Mjolnir's handle with both hands, muscles tensing. But no matter how hard he pulled, the hammer refused to budge.

Shock and disbelief spread across Thor's face. "Father… you've truly stripped me of my worthiness…"

He clenched his fists, trembling, then threw his head back and roared toward the sky in anguish.

"Calm down, Thor," Steve said gently, walking up behind him. "Right now, you're not worthy to lift Mjolnir."

He placed a reassuring hand on Thor's shoulder — and with a simple spell, lulled the furious god to sleep.

"Hey! You jerk!" Jane shouted, rushing forward. "Don't touch his hammer!"
