On Friday morning, as soon as Serena Sutton finished class, she rushed back to cook.
She made two dishes, the only two she'd learned over the past couple of days that were barely decent enough to show people: tomato scrambled eggs and shredded pork with green peppers.
When she took them out of the wok, she deliberately had Brandy Quinn and the others taste them first, so she wouldn't end up in some idol-drama-level disaster where the food was inedible.
Brandy took a bite and commented, "Honestly, the taste is so-so, but it's an improvement from the last two days."
Serena no longer had the bandwidth to pursue perfection. She packed the food into an insulated lunchbox and headed out.
Skye Morgan nudged Brandy, asking suspiciously, "Vino, it's better, yeah, but I still don't think it tastes good. It's a bit salty."
"Are we really doing the right thing?"
Young Sullivan was happily sending the food over. Was she not worried at all about how Dr. Lockwood would feel?
