Chapter 43 - Chapter 43: Spell Breaker

Leylin was exhausted. He leaned against the crimson canopy of a tree in the Sun Bay Temple, dozing off.

Only after dawn did Leylin learn that the place where the giant arcane creature was imprisoned was called Dawning Square. The entire Silvermoon Council of Magisters, Sorcerers, Astrologers, and Arcanists had gathered there to discuss the problem plaguing the Grand Magister: how to dispel the powerful arcane energy stored on this island.

This place was called the Isle of Quel'Danas, a sacred place for the elves. In a sense, the importance of this island was even greater than that of the currently prosperous Silvermoon City.

All high-ranking magisters had gathered to discuss the matter. Whether they were members of the Silvermoon Council, the Magisters, or even independent magicians, they all had to put aside their prejudices and work together to resolve the issues arising from this island.

Grand Magister Belo'vir was the leader of all the mages here, and even Magister Rommath, as the leader of the Silvermoon Council, had to listen to his opinions. The Grand Magister solicited the opinions of all the high-ranking mages, and they diligently began to deliberate.

The discussion was intense, and even Leylin, lying somewhere in the coastline of Sun's Reach Harbor, could hear the clamor.

Fortunately, the sea breeze brought Leylin great relief. This place was quieter than Eversong Woods, allowing for complete relaxation. Let the high-ranking mages argue.

At the current pace, a solution that satisfied all the high-ranking mages would take until the sunlight on Quel'Danas matched the forest's color.

Leylin yawned, turned over, and fell asleep. Human bodies are different from elves, and after a long day of work, Leylin needed to get enough sleep the next day to be refreshed for the upcoming tasks.

The warm midday sun made Leylin feel dazed. He sat up and yawned.

Tilting his head slightly, Leylin was startled by the female elf sitting next to him. She was thin and slender, dressed in mail armor that didn't suit her figure.

Was she a elven warrior?

Seeing Leylin awake, the female elf greeted him, "Hello, I'm Elna."

Leylin nodded and replied, "Leylin, a student of Grand Magister Belo'vir and Magister Nallorath."

The female elf didn't seem surprised at all; she had heard about what happened last night. "No need to introduce yourself. I know who you are."

He was the only human mage in the entire Kingdom of Quel'Thalas, and the student of Grand Magister Belo'vir. With such clear features and mentors, it wasn't surprising that other elves recognized him.

"Aside from the two of us, the mages here today are all high-level mages, right?" Leylin subconsciously mistook the female elf named Elna for a warrior.

Elna grasped the longsword at her waist, the magical runes on it catching Leylin's attention. "Spell breaker?"

Elna smiled and nodded. He was almost deceived by his own eyes.

Leylin continued, "As a high-rank spell breaker, you're not attending the meeting, but instead taking a break from your busy schedule to come here and slack off with me. That's a bit unreasonable, isn't it?"

Elna chuckled. "I've heard from my companions that Grand Magister Belo'vir's student share his personality. They're all calm and collected, but seeing you today, it doesn't seem like that."

Completely ignoring her own problem, she focused solely on the topic. "I'm not some guinea pig. Why should you be so curious?" Leylin muttered to himself.

Not wanting to respond to Elna's words, Leylin stared blankly at her, speechless.

This was the first time Elna had ever been stared at like that by someone of the opposite sex. Elna tried her best to remain calm, but after a while, her pretty face flushed. The gaze of a human male was even more intense than that of an elf male.

"What do you mean by staring at me for so long without saying anything?" Elna scolded Leylin.

Leylin said tersely, "It seems you didn't even answer my first question. Also, our conversation shouldn't be a one-sided inquiry. This is very unusual to me."

He had initially assumed he was different from Grand Magister Belo'vir, but now it seemed he'd overestimated that.

Elna continued, "I'm a spell breaker. My role isn't to attend meetings here. My mission is more to prevent accidents. Combating such powerful arcane creatures like these is crucial for immediate contact."

"So, this isn't the first time such arcane creatures have appeared?" Leylin continued, following Elna's lead.

Elna's lips curled up, her tone tinged with pride. "Our conversation isn't a one-sided inquiry. This is very unusual to me."

"Okay, okay, then let's exchange what you want to know. Ask me whatever you want. One question for another." Leylin was overwhelmed by the spell breaker's quick reflexes.

Elna asked without hesitation, "Well, I accept. How did you, a human, come to Quel'Thalas to study magic, and even become a student of two great mages?"

Leylin was also puzzled by this question. "I'm not very clear of it myself either. I can only say it was due to luck."

Elna was dissatisfied with this answer. She stroked the hilt of her sword and said, "It's barely an answer."

Leylin nodded, indicating that it was your turn.

"I don't know much about your question just now. I'm only 200 years old, and I've been a spell breaker for only 100 years. In that century, my mentor and I have dealt with 5 void creatures and 7 demonic creatures. However, in the past ten years, demonic and void creature activities have been the most frequent," Elna replied.

Was it because the Burning Legion was about to launch a second invasion? Leylin fell into deep thought. Based on the timeline he'd understood back from another world, this explanation made the most sense.

"What are you thinking about?" Elna looked at Leylin, puzzled. This guy always fell silent for a while when communicating with her.

Rolin hurriedly shook his head and said, "Nothing, you can continue asking."

Elna suddenly became stiff-lipped. She asked, a little embarrassed, "I heard you have a good relationship with a Windrunner Ranger. How far is your relationship?" "

How did she know about my relationship with Vereesa?" After much thought, Leylin came up with an answer.

"Julia is your best friend," Leylin said.

Elna hurriedly explained, "No, she didn't tell me to ask you these questions. I asked them myself."

Leyline looked at Elna awkwardly and said, "I have to say, the way you explained hurriedly made it seem I'm right."

"You!"

Leylin stood up and walked towards Dawning Square. The huge arcane creature violently rammed into the barrier formed by arcane energy, and the sound of the magical fluctuations was a bit harsh.

Fortunately, the magicians' debate ended, and Magister Nallorath found an excellent solution.
