Chapter 53 - Chapter 53: Affiliate Mage of the Silvermoon Council

After each mission, Leylin was given a week or two of study time. This time was no different.

During this week, aside from studying constructs in the Belo'vir's Mage Tower, Leylin spent the majority of his time in Magister Nallorath's Mage Tower.

For a week, Leylin followed Magister Nallorath' instructions, systematically studying magic. Leylin's comprehension, combined with Magister Nallorath's meticulous guidance, led to significant progress.

That night, Leylin once again ate dinner in Magister Nallorath's mage tower. Like Grand Magister Belo'vir, the magister had no servants and did everything himself. Of course, Leylin's presence gave him an extra hand in preparing dinner.

Having lived in the elven kingdom for so long, Leylin had learned to cook a number of elven delicacies. Fried spider meat, steamed turtle soup—original elven delicacies, now blended with Leylin's otherworldly culinary culture, became uniquely distinctive.

It's unclear what the other elves thought of them, but at least the two magisters were full of praise for Leylin's cooking.

Dinner was when Leylin and his teacher communicated most. Magister Nallorath had something important to discuss with Leylin today.

The dining room table was long, and with the teacher and Leylin sitting opposite to each other, there was a large empty space.

The mentor used this space to place two golden sheets of paper on it, "These are two application forms, one for the Silvermoon Council and the other for the Magisters" Magister Nallorath said.

"Teacher, do you want me to join these two organizations?" Leylin put down his knife and fork, and took out two forms.

The two symbols on the forms were indeed those of the Silvermoon Council and the Magisters. This meant that Leylin still had options.

However, Leylin clearly remembered that Grand Magister Belo'vir wanted him to join the Silvermoon Council, so he set aside the form for the Magisters and said, "Then let's take this one."

Nallorath watched Leylin's actions and smiled knowingly. "Fill out this form after dinner. I'll take you for certification tomorrow. After the certification, you will be an Associate Mage of the Silvermoon Council."

Leylin was familiar with the concept of Associate Mage. In the Silvermoon Council, there were only three levels of rank: Council President, Councilor, and Associate Mage. The Silvermoon Council had few Councilors, but there were hundreds of Associate Mages.

To become a Councilor of the Silvermoon Council, one had to first become an Associate Mage, then advancing to Councilor through a series of tasks and magical advancements. This process seemed simple, but it was actually quite tedious and complicated.

Nallorath wasn't shy about being frank with his student. "Student, you've been with Grand Magister Belo'vir for so long, and you know how the Silvermoon Council views Grand Magister Belo'vir. As his student, and a human at that, you'll undoubtedly face immense pressure upon joining the Council."

This served as a reminder to Leylin, his tone of concern permeating his words. Unlike Grand Magister Belo'vir, this Magister Nallorath clearly showed his concern for him. While the two mentors had different styles, Leylin felt the care and concern they showed him.

"This is all part of learning. I understand what I need to do." Leylin's eyes were devoid of any emotion, only seriousness.

Nallorath nodded. After all, he was Belo'vir's student, and his approach mirrored Belo'vir's.

"Besides this, you can also study those magic notes that Grand Magister Belo'vir gave you." Nallorath said.

Leylin was aware of this as well. Those magical notes that Grand Magister Belo'vir has compiled contains innovative views or perspectives in regards to mastering the arcane arts. Some of which are nearly are not possible to elven capabilities. It might have been observations on some races when they wield arcane magic.

"Well, I'll study further in my spare time. By the way, teacher, I've been studying here for so long, and I've always been curious about that painting on the wall." Leylin recalled the painting he saw on his first day in the Magister's room.

Nallorath said calmly, "Those are two of my friends. They've both left this world."

"Those must be memories from your time in the human kingdom." Even now, Leylin could still detect traces of the human etiquette or items from the human kingdom within the Magister's Mage Tower.

Nallorath nodded. "Those are just memories now. I'll tell you this story someday. But I'm not the protagonist of this story." The teacher smiled awkwardly, teasing himself.

He didn't ask any further questions, but instead looked at Leylin with a penetrating gaze. Nallorath thought to himself: Not only wasn't I the protagonist before, but I'm not the protagonist now either. There can only be one person.

That night, Leylin bid farewell to the teacher and headed straight back for the inn.

On his way, Leylin ran into an acquaintance, Aminel.

This dual-specialization magister was teaching the art of enchanting, a common subject in the square. There were several mages around her, who should be her students.

Seeing Leylin coming over, she greeted Leylin enthusiastically, and handed the work in her hands to the students to experiment on their own.

"Have you just finished studying with the magister?" Aminel asked.

Leylin nodded and said, "Yes, I just came back."

Aminel pretended to be annoyed and said, "Why, only you are treated like this, with two great magisters as your mentors. If this happened to me, I would wake up laughing in my dreams."

In order to avoid embarrassment, Leylin smiled and said, "In order to let you sleep well, I will sacrifice myself for the time being. Helping others is a very good thing."

"Hehe, I never saw you act so shameless when we were on a mission." Aminel covered her thin lips and said with a smile.

Leylin knew that he couldn't continue with this topic, so he looked at the mages in the distance and said, "Are you teaching them enchantment? They look very proficient."

"Yes, they are all my students, some young elven mages."

"If there is a possibility, can you teach me enchanting?" Leylin asked sincerely.

Aminel shrugged her shoulders, stared at him with her crystal eyes, pointed her index finger at herself and asked, "Let me be your mentor?"

"Yes."

"I'm not a great magister. Will this damage your status as the number one student within Quel'Thalas?" Aminel didn't know whether she was teasing herself or Leylin.

Leylin didn't say anything else, just bowed and said, "Teacher, Leylin greets you."

Seriously? Aminel didn't refuse Leylin. She cleared her throat and said to the students around her, "Students, come and meet him. This is your new classmate."
