Chapter 62 - Chapter 62: Consecutive Victories

Unlike yesterday's matches, today's schedule was much more intense. Leylin and Frank had three full matches to complete.

Leylin's notebook contained no information about his first-round opponent, so he simply mistook him for a monster.

In reality, the player standing in Leylin's way to the top 32 was a monster, his construct offering no resistance to Leylin. Frank easily won the match, destroying the arcane core array of the player's prized construct.

Leylin quickly narrowed down his opponent for the next round. Fortunately, his construct was recorded in Leylin's notebook, making him a dangerous opponent.

This magister's construct possessed strong defensive abilities. At this point in the match, Leylin began to shift his strategy.

He removed the defensive magic runes from Frank's body and replaced them with runes that combined offense and defense. This rune no longer limited Frank's overall strength, but it still restricted his ability to use magic.

Feeling his growing strength, Frank felt less repressed. It excitedly followed Leylin, awaiting the next battle.

For an intelligent arcane construct like Frank, the taste of victory was a sensation both unfamiliar and irresistibly alluring. Unlike organic beings, Frank experienced victory not through physical sensation, but through the subtle shifts in data, the surge of successful calculations, and the validation of his intricate algorithms.

Unlike his previous opponents, the sorcerer entering the arena this time was Magister Tyr'ganal, a student of Magister Edien Sunhollow, one of the strongest within the Magister's who specializes in both fire and arcane magic.

He smiled at Leylin and greeted him warmly, "I'm deeply honored to face off against the most aura-rich mage student in the Kingdom of Quel'Thalas. I hope today's match between us will be relaxing and memorable."

Such flattery wouldn't work on Leylin. As a competitor, he knew his role clearly. "I want to win!" Leylin stood calmly across from Tyr'ganal, nodding calmly and signaling the match to begin.

Seeing Leylin didn't want to argue further, Tyr'ganal could only throw his hands up in a helpless gesture.

After both arcane constructs prepared, the match officially began. The towering arcane barrier activated, and Frank began to move.

Having traded in his defensive arcane runes, Frank now possessed a certain offensive power. Frank, having previously been passively defensive, switched to an active offense.

This caught Tyr'ganal somewhat by surprise, and compared to his previous cheerful expression, a grimace now etched itself in his face.

Clearly, his plan had gone awry. Apparently, Tyr'ganal had prepared well beforehand, hoping to exploit his speed advantage against Leylin's arcane construct, but he failed.

This wasn't the most crucial issue; the most crucial issue was that, as an opponent, his intelligence was vastly outsmarted!

In terms of speed, Frank, armed with the boost of Leylin's magic circle and new magical runes, was far more responsive and attacking than Tyr'ganal's arcane construct. However, Frank wasn't perfect either. Tyr'ganal's arcane construct was made of far more powerful materials than Leylin's.

The sight of those light green crystals made Leylin envious. Thorium ore! The Magister's truly possessed immense wealth!

This battle was far more demanding than the previous one. Frank, who had always held the upper hand, was unable to inflict any substantial damage on Tyr'ganal's arcane construct, and the battle reached a stalemate.

The agonizing look that had etched Tyr'ganal's face for a moment finally vanished.

He seemed to be thinking, "Even though your construct possesses magical structures that defy our grasp, unfortunately, our arcane construct material development is progressing beyond your imagination."

While the core components of an arcane construct are crucial, its external structure determines the construct's ultimate capabilities.

Yet, Leylin remained calm. Even before the match began, Leylin knew his opponent would be defensive. He had replaced Frank's defensive runes with offensive runes to target his next opponent. Clearly, Leylin had succeeded.

Frank, constantly engaged in attack, slowly discovered his opponent's weaknesses. It was resilient, strong, and resilient. But even arcane constructs have weaknesses: the connections between their various parts.

From Frank's gaze, Leylin understood what he was about to do. Frank's battles were always decisive, and he showed no mercy to the hostile arcane constructs.

Compared to his previous stiff movements, Frank's next attack caught Tyr'ganal off guard. Leylin's arcane construct seemed to possess a soul, tugging at his own like a warrior.

As it pulled, Leylin's construct frantically hammered at the connection between its own construct's arms.

Frank's punches were swift, and with such swift and powerful force, the end of Tyr'ganl's arcane construct's arm was destroyed.

"Stop!" Tyr'ganal shouted. He knew better than to continue this, and his construct would be crushed by the abominable arcane construct.

The referee declared Leylin the winner, and Tyr'ganal led his arcane construct down the ring.

Finally, a gracious competitor arrived. Leylin took the initiative and bowed to Tyr'ganal. Tyr'ganal was stunned for a moment, then smiled. Was he jealous of Leylin?

There was no estrangement. Tyr'ganal generously walked with Leylin to the center of the ring. The two magisters bowed simultaneously.

"You are a very graceful wizard, Lord Leylin." Tyr'ganal's lips curled up, and in the warm morning sunshine, he looked like the boy next door. There was no hint of hostility in his words.

Leylin, putting aside his status as a contestant, spoke with a lighter tone. "We've already had three rounds, and you're the first to perform post-match etiquette with me. My name is Leylin, and I'm a human mage." Leylin extended his right hand to Tyr'ganal.

A handshake? Tyr'ganal had heard of it before. He practiced it on the spot, engaging in a pleasant human action with Leylin. "I'm Tyr'ganal, an elven mage. It's an honor to spar with you. If possible, can we go around Silvermoon City for a hot drink after today's match? I'll treat you."

Finally, a male friend? Leylin nodded and said, "It's my honor."

The third round of the competition soon began. As Leylin's first friend, Tyr'ganal didn't leave the venue. He stayed to observe the power of his new friend's construct.

The opponent in the top 16 to top 8 didn't appear in Leylin's notebook. Because of this, this opponent's construct was completely crushed by Frank in terms of speed and reaction ability.

This once again proved his mastery of arcane constructs, complex runes, arrays and Leylin's calculations. Leylin continued his momentum and reached the quarterfinals.

Meanwhile, in the northern competition area, a magister and his construct also advanced. He was Dar'Khan Drathir, and when Leylin looked at him, Dar'Khan was smiling at him.
