The elves had been traversing this primeval forest for three days. The poorly designed map offered no clear reference point for Seradane, and there were no landmarks to follow. Their only direction was north.
Fortunately, the towering mountains in the distance provided a landmark, and they hadn't gotten lost yet. And Leylin didn't forget to claim his sign in reward, he was too busy engaging the battles that he had nearly forgotten to claim his reward.
The reward he got in signing in Hinterlands is: [Beowulf (Devil Arm) – Rare]. Leylin rejoiced with the reward he had received, now he could pair it with his Bending Arts when he goes into close combat. There hasn't been a mage that could do close combat in Azeroth, he would be the first one. Leylin eagerly equipped this devil arm, now an addition to his assassin garb set.
As the elven party settled beneath the sprawling branches of the ancient oak, Leylin took his place in the dappled shade, the soft rustling of leaves whispering around him. His eyes closed momentarily as he tuned into the subtle energies that permeated Seradane, a realm teeming with latent power.
Leylin's breath slowed as he centered himself beneath the ancient oak, feeling the pulsating flow of arcane energy surrounding him. He reached inward, channeling his divine essence to merge with the invisible currents of magic that wove through Seradane.
His consciousness expanded, infused with divine grace, as he sought to pierce the veil of mystery that cloaked the arcane.
He extended his senses outward, feeling the gentle hum of magic woven into the very fabric of the land. Leylin's mind synchronized with these currents, drawing in their strength to bolster his own arcane reservoir.
He had learned from past experiences that within these shimmering energies lay the secrets of the world itself—its structure, its history, its destiny. The energy was like a living map, a blueprint of creation, whispering truths in a language older than words.
As Leylin guided his thoughts along the tendrils of arcane flow, he felt a subtle shift, a ripple in the fabric of magic. It was as if the energy responded to his intent, willing to reveal fragments of its ancient knowledge.
He sensed the trajectory of celestial bodies, the flow of time, and the underlying architecture of reality, all encoded within the shimmering web of magic.
His mind danced along these strands, seeking understanding. Each fragment of insight brought him closer to grasping the deeper truths of the arcane, an understanding that might unlock secrets long forgotten, or perhaps even reshape his fate.
While the others rested, unaware of the deeper currents of magic swirling around, Leylin's focus sharpened. He sensed something, a faint, almost imperceptible shimmer in the fabric of reality. It was as if the land itself was alive, watching, waiting. Perhaps it was the dragons, or perhaps the land's own ancient consciousness, stirring in anticipation.
Gradually, Leylin seemed to sense that their movement and operation possessed a purpose, but this purpose was not something he had imposed upon them. These arcane energies, possessing a subtle self-awareness, were moving deeper into the forest.
Soon, they found a floating effect shimmering with green light. It was more like a teleportation portal. But it wasn't; the scene inside the portal was exactly the same as the forest scene behind it, without any difference.
What was this? Leylin pondered.
But the arcane energy didn't ponder; this novelty piqued its interest. Without hesitation, he entered the strange green portal, his body and Leylin's entering this perfect plane.
"Damn! I only used my magic to probe, why is my body here?" Leylin shook his head, realizing he was still in Seradane. But, the vigilant and astute Leylin noticed this place was different from Seradane; there were no creatures, only green meadows and trees.
The elves weren't in this world either. The Emerald Dream! Leylin's immediate reaction.
Feeling the peace and tranquility of this world, Leylin continued forward. Passing through the dense forest, Leylin continued to project his divinity.
In this subtle, reflective world, his divinity still had an effect. He sensed a creature nearby.
Slowly walking towards it, Leylin saw a tall woman with a perfect figure. She wore a light green, tight-fitting outfit, with a light gauze cloak draped over her back.
This attire was quite revealing, creating a considerable visual impact on Leylin.
Of course, as a woman with a perfect figure, her appearance was also unique, a beauty that seemed subtle and indescribable. Like a cup of clear tea, it left Leylin speechless for a long time.
"A mortal? Do you know you've entered a brand-new world?" she asked, slowly walking up to Leylin.
"Yes, I can feel it. It's a new world, just like the one I'm in, but it feels more like a reflection of that world." Leylin said calmly.
This mortal was right; no wonder he could enter her world.
Smoothing her long, light green hair, she said, "Fear, confusion, curiosity, or loss? I can't seem to sense your feelings. What are you thinking about?"
Leylin looked around at the lush greenery. He honestly replied, "I'm thinking about how to get out. I have other things to do."
With a few soft laughs, she smiled at this strange-looking mortal and said, "I don't want to leave you here, but you blindly stepped into this world. You need to wait for the next opening of the Dream Gate before you can leave."
Maintaining his composure, Leylin asked, "How long do I need to wait?"
"A day? Or a month, I can't say for sure," she said, shaking her fair neck.
"Even the ruler of this place can't change that?" Leylin wasn't stupid; he knew who the beautiful woman before him was.
"Hehe, you're very clever, smarter than that demigod and the elf. However, you intrigue me. Why do you have no feelings for this world? I can sense your complete lack of emotion," the Emerald Queen asked.
Leylin smiled and replied, "Because I am a mage, a mortal who controls arcane magic and magical elements."
The Emerald Queen frowned slightly, her beautiful face looking somewhat pitiful. "Arcane energy, is that it? No wonder."
"My name is Leylin. It's a pleasure to meet the master of this world." Leylin said.
"Ysera, the ruler of the Emerald Dream," Ysera took Leylin's hand and continued, "We're friends now, aren't we?"
"Yes, but you need to let me return to my original world first," Leylin said awkwardly.
Seeing a different expression on Leylin's face for the first time, Ysera shook her head and said, "After sleeping peacefully for so long, I need someone to relax with me. You won't refuse, will you?"
"Probably, perhaps." Leylin was eager to return; otherwise, Alleria would be getting impatient.
"Then let's go. In this world, I can take you anywhere at any time."
