The following morning, Ruby woke up to the continuous soft buzzing of her phone. She groaned, stretching lazily beneath her duvet, the faint warmth of the sun sneaking through the half-drawn curtains.
The previous night had been long and exhausting after she spent hours working on the upcoming launch for the company's new fashion line alongside some new order.
Still half-asleep, she reached for her phone on the nightstand and blinked at the screen.
There were hundreds of notifications, from Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn and even her business email, flooding her phone.
"What the hell?" Ruby's brow furrowed. She pushed herself into a sitting position as she opened the first message from Elena who had left her several missed calls.
[Elena: Ruby, please don't panic. Don't open any of your social media accounts or visit the blogs yet. Call me first. I'm currently handling some issues at home and I'll join you shortly.]
Ruby's blood turned cold at this message.
