The drive to Goldman Trust Bank felt like an endless journey filled with a series of obstacle courses as Derek tried to navigate through the afternoon's busy traffic.
His fingers tapped impatiently against the steering wheel, his jaw tightening with each failed attempt to reach the branch manager on both his office and private line.
"Come on, pick up already," He muttered under his breath between clenched jaws.
Sadly, it was the same infuriating automated voice informing him that the number was unavailable.
"Why now?" Derek barked, slamming his hand against the steering wheel. "What kind of idiotic manager switches their damn phone at the peak of business?" He hissed, tossing his phone to the passenger seat.
"You'd better have a damn good reason, Nicholas, for restricting my account access and switching off your phone. Otherwise...." He let the word hang in the air.
