Completely ignoring Derek as though he were a boring statue, Ruby walked up to the manager, her right hand extended politely towards her.
"Good day, Mrs Whitney. I hope I didn't keep you waiting."
"Not at all, Miss Angelo." Whitney shook her hand warmly before gesturing to the seat beside Derek. "Please take your seat. I was just informing your business partner about..."
"Can I have a word with her in private?" Derek interrupted sharply before Whitney could finish her sentence.
Whitney turned to Ruby as if to seek her permission. She was slightly amused by Derek panicked expression, considering he just introduced Ruby as his fiancee a while ago.
"It's okay. I promise, we will make it very brief." Ruby forced a smile that didn't reach her eyes.
"Awesome." Whitney stood up, "I'll be right outside my office if you need me." She said respectfully before exiting her office.
"What the hell are you doing here, Ruby?" Derek's voice cracked like a whip.
