The man behind the wheel of the black sedan reclined slightly in his seat, his baseball cap pulled low. His eyes were glued to the entrance of the diner entrance, his patience thinning with each passing second.
He lifted his wrist, checking the time again, his jaw tightening. It was already three hours ever since she stepped into the diner but there was no sign of her or her lover.
His phone vibrated and he didn't hesitate as he received the call.
"Yeah," he murmured, his voice low.
"Give me an update." Derek's voice crackled through the line, sharp and impatient.
The spy exhaled slowly. "Still nothing. I've been parked here close to three hours now. But she hasn't stepped out of the diner."
A brief silence followed his statement, heavy with irritation.
"She's still inside with him?" Derek asked.
"I can't say much about him. But I can guarantee you that she's not there alone. The entire diner was cleared to prevent anyone from spying on her."
