Chapter 154 - Lightning

The few A-Rank Awakened surrounding Saike and Will immediately became wary when Meng Ran and Liu Xiu turned their gazes towards them.

Xuanfeng sensed that a battle was about to begin, so he said in a low voice to Shandian beside him, "Shandian, you find an opportunity to teleport Mr. Saike and Mr. Will out of here."

Shandian nodded at Xuanfeng's words, then said, "You two need to hold them back first, otherwise, I might be discovered the moment I stop."

As an A-Rank Awakened, Shandian's Teleportation ability was stronger than the B-Rank Awakened that Meng Ran had possessed at the time.

His Teleportation allowed him to teleport to any place within his line of sight, without a specific ten-meter limit.

However, because they were in the hills, he might need to pause once to send Saike and Will out.

Xuanfeng nodded upon hearing Shandian's words. He also knew Shandian's ability, so he had to quickly hold off Egui and Black Armor with the others, creating an opportunity for Shandian to teleport.

Meng Ran, not far away, saw the subtle communication between Xuanfeng and Shandian and immediately understood what was happening.

He vanished from his spot in an instant, suddenly appearing beside Shandian and kicking him away.

Shandian and Xuanfeng hadn't anticipated Meng Ran's speed.

Before they could react, Meng Ran had already kicked Shandian back into the rubble.

When Xuanfeng and the other Awakened finally reacted and prepared to help Shandian, a strange energy suddenly descended, forcing them to the ground, unable to rise.

Saike and Will, being ordinary people, weren't affected, because Liu Xiu hadn't applied the gravity to them.

After all, they were just ordinary people. The gravity applied to the Awakened couldn't be applied to them, or else, they might be crushed into meat paste.

Seeing that the situation was bad, Saike and Will prepared to run, but unexpectedly, Meng Ran, who had just kicked Shandian away, suddenly reappeared behind them.

Meng Ran grabbed their collars and flung them backward.

At the same time, he shouted towards the front, "Ghost, catch!"

As Meng Ran's voice faded, two strands of Webbing shot through the air, wrapping Saike and Will into two large white cocoons.

After encasing them, Gwen gently pulled back, catching the two figures as they flew through the air.

Seeing Gwen handle them, Meng Ran relaxed, knowing they couldn't escape now.

Teleportation was always the trickiest ability due to its mobility.

If they hadn't dealt with Shandian beforehand and secured the other two, the Hexagram Alliance's operation today would have been pointless if they managed to seize an opportunity.

The other Awakened on the ground had weathered the attack and were slowly trying to get back up.

Meng Ran ignored them, leaving them for Liu Xiu to handle while he continued his attack on Shandian, who had just climbed out of the ruins.

At this moment, Shandian had just crawled out of the rubble. Meng Ran's powerful kick had injured him severely; he hadn't had time to react before being hit.

Because he hadn't been able to use Teleportation, he had taken the full force of the kick.

Blood trickled from his mouth as he endured the sharp pain in his side, pushing away the debris above his head to crawl out.

Just as Shandian hadn't had time to catch his breath, a sense of danger suddenly enveloped his heart.

He instinctively used Teleportation, transporting himself to an open space within his field of vision.

Just as he teleported, a loud boom echoed from where he had been moments before.

Shandian hurriedly looked up and saw that a large hole had been blasted into the ruins.

Egui's figure was standing in the middle of the hole, with blue arcs of electricity flashing beside him.

Shandian couldn't help but be shocked by the scene, imagining the consequences if such an attack had landed on him just now.

"It was dodged," Egui said softly, looking at Shandian who was standing not far away, maintaining the highest level of vigilance.

Shandian was also panting heavily, looking at Egui. He was thinking to himself, Damn it, that first move didn't get dodged and I'm seriously injured.

My body can't hold on much longer. I have to seize every opportunity.

But how can I hurt this guy?

Shandian quickly calculated in his mind, the gap in their strength making him feel a wave of despair.

At that moment, Egui, who had just been in his field of vision, suddenly disappeared again.

Shandian's spirit tensed up instantly. He kept making small, erratic movements to dodge attacks that could come at any moment.

It might have looked stupid, but he had no other options. He could only hope to buy some time, maybe a turning point would come.

Sudden premonitions like the last one were rare, and he wouldn't bet his life on such an uncertain feeling.

Meng Ran was currently standing in a hidden spot, watching Shandian's movements.

Meng Ran understood Shandian's seemingly clumsy behavior. Not everyone had Spider Sense like they did, to warn them of impending danger.

Meng Ran watched Shandian constantly moving, while simultaneously sending out attacks of Blade Light with his hand, and estimating Shandian's abilities in his mind.

Meng Ran could now use his hands to execute sword techniques. Although the power wasn't as great as when using Qieyun, it was perfectly sufficient for this situation.

After observing for a moment, he gradually figured out Shandian's Teleportation ability.

Shandian's Teleportation always landed him where he had just looked. Although this movement was subtle and concealed, it didn't escape Meng Ran's notice.

Now that he understood Shandian's Teleportation ability, Meng Ran formulated a plan.

With a movement, he vanished from his spot.

Shandian, constantly shifting around the arena, was now panting heavily, his face pale.

Although Egui hadn't reappeared, the explosive Blade Light hadn't stopped its barrage.

Facing this situation, he didn't dare to be careless, constantly using his ability to deal with the relentless attacks.

The result of his efforts was that, while exhausted and panting, he hadn't been hurt again.

Just as he dodged another Blade Light attack, a sudden change occurred.
