The resurrection of VenomMyotismon brought a crushing weight of despair to Odaiba. The children, who had thought a Mega-level would just be a slightly larger version of WarGreymon, were horrified. This beast was a skyscraper of malice.
"Evolution!" Agumon roared first.
Bathed in golden light, he skipped his Champion form and went straight to Ultimate. MetalGreymon hovered in the air, his cybernetic chest plates sliding open. "Giga Blaster!"
Two nuclear-grade missiles slammed into the beast's chest. The explosions were massive, but VenomMyotismon barely flinched. However, his eyes narrowed in annoyance.
"Spiral Sword!" Jean's voice rang out from the ruins. A concentrated gale of holy Anemo struck the monster's shoulder, forcing the sixty-meter titan to stagger back two steps.
"Don't just stand there!" Tai shouted, snapping out of his trance. "We came to prove ourselves! WarGreymon, go! MetalGarurumon, fire everything!"
The battle joined in earnest. WarGreymon unleashed his Gaia Force, a miniature sun that scorched the monster's armor, while MetalGarurumon's Cocytus Breath flash-froze its legs.
"Nice work, big doggy!" Hu Tao laughed. Her soul-form hovered in the air, her crimson spear—Yama—igniting with white-hot fire. "Shikai: Yama's Purgatory!"
She didn't use her Zanpakuto's special ability yet, relying solely on the Pure Yang Flame Su Han had given her. She lunged, her spear piercing deep into the monster's thigh.
"ROAR!"
VenomMyotismon let out a bone-chilling scream. Black smoke hissed from the wound. Pure Yang energy was poison to an undead Digimon. Enraged, the beast swiped a claw that demolished an entire office building beside Hu Tao.
Matt's father, driving frantically to keep Hu Tao's physical body safe, gasped. "This is insane... a single blow is like a cruise missile!"
Hu Tao didn't stop. She circled to the beast's back, tossing three concentrated fireballs. Boom. Boom. Boom. The monster buckled, but immediately retaliated with a circular blood-red shockwave.
The wave was too fast. Hu Tao was caught in the blast and sent tumbling through the air.
"He's adapting!" Matt shouted. "He knows he can't catch Hu Tao, so he's using area-of-effect attacks to keep her away!"
Meanwhile, Zilali pulsed with light, raining down "Holy Infusion" buffs on the other children's Digimon. Suddenly, their "scratch-level" attacks began leaving scorched marks on the monster.
But it wasn't enough. VenomMyotismon was healing faster than they could damage him.
Su Han's Gatomon trotted over to Zilali. "Don't waste your light on small buffs. I can't get close like this. I need to reach the next level."
"How can I help you, little one?" Zilali's telepathic voice was gentle.
"The other Gatomon evolved using a Crest of Light," Su Han's cat said, her eyes fixed on the battle. "You are light. Inject your energy into me. All of it."
Zilali hesitated. "I can give you seventy percent. The rest is for my own stability and the children's shields."
"Do it!"
FLASH!
Zilali erupted into a blinding supernova. The light was so intense that VenomMyotismon shrieked, shielding its eyes. "Light... I HATE THE LIGHT!"
From his abdomen, a black arrow of corrupted data shot toward Zilali.
"Look out!" Tai yelled, but the arrow was too fast.
Suddenly, a new presence intercepted the bolt.
"Gatomon Warp-Digivolve to... ANGEWOMON!"
A pillar of crystalline light shattered the dark fog. When it faded, a tall, radiant woman stood in the air.
This Angewomon was different from Kari's. While Kari's was a traditional angel, Su Han's version wore light-forged silver armor over a sleek, modern-style dress—a design influenced by the Inazuman fashion magazines she had read while sitting in Su Han's lap.
In her left hand was a crystalline shield that had easily deflected the dark arrow. In her right was a sword of shimmering solar energy.
"Incredible..." Kari whispered. "She looks so... noble."
"Don't just watch!" the new Angewomon commanded, her voice melodic yet authoritative. "Angels, assemble! Purge the darkness!"
Kari's Angewomon and Angemon joined her. Three holy entities charged the beast at once. Their combined "Celestial Arrow" and "Hand of Fate" struck the monster's stomach, blowing a gaping hole in the demonic face on its abdomen.
"Now, Jean! Hu Tao!" Angewomon shouted. "Finish it while the core is exposed!"
