I could hear Natalia breathing through the bond. The fear was fading. Something else was replacing it. Pride. Fury. Love. All of it tangled together in the way that only Natalia could manage, every emotion competing for dominance and somehow all of them winning at once.
"Clear the bodies," I said into the comm. "Skylar, dissolve the smoke. Emi, check everyone for injuries. Jacob, scrub the sensor data. I want no trace of our presence in the municipal monitoring network by the time the gas authority sends their inspection team."
"Already on it. I'll need twenty minutes."
"You have fifteen."
"Twelve if someone brings me coffee."
Soomin dropped from the roof, back to herself now, pink hair and wide blue eyes and a blush spreading across her cheeks as she realized she'd been wearing Soomin's combat gauntlets while the Fox spent the last five minutes doing things with those gauntlets that Soomin would find mortifying in retrospect.
