Chapter 74 - A Green Figure at the Docks

As Batman, Anton had just returned to the Brooklyn Docks when he heard gunfire erupting, accompanied by the roar of explosions and the spread of flames.

He focused his senses, observing the situation.

Fire was constantly erupting within the container-filled docks.

Night had fallen.

The bright moonlight cast shadows from the closely spaced containers.

Foot Clan thugs, armed with firearms, were confronting the NYPD Task Force not far away.

Both sides took cover and exchanged a volley of gunfire, but no one was injured.

Suddenly, just moments before Anton arrived on the rooftop, the leader of the NYPD Task Force signaled for an advance.

The Task Force members split into two groups.

One group opened fire, pinning the Foot Clan members behind the containers, while the other group slowly advanced, their expressions grim.

Boom!

But the Task Force members hadn't anticipated the Foot Clan's sudden, reckless desperation.

Some members acted as human shields, taking bullets to the chest, a cold smile on their faces as they died.

Their comrades took advantage of the distraction, opening fire and killing Task Force members.

Just then, Anton arrived on the rooftop of a building next to the Brooklyn Docks.

Seeing this, he knew it was his turn to act!

At the same time, in the sky behind Anton, a green figure whistled in, flashing overhead like a brilliant green meteor.

The green figure shot straight towards the docks not far ahead.

Anton was stunned when he saw this person.

"Who's there?"

The sound of machinery whirred, and the Flying Skateboard exploded with terrifying speed, arriving in an instant.

The Task Force members looked up, their faces filled with shock.

They didn't know who this newcomer was.

The Foot Clan members were also dumbfounded, staring at the green figure riding a Flying Skateboard, feeling like this guy had wandered onto the wrong set.

"Die, all of you, die!!"

"This is my territory, and everyone who dares to touch my things should die!!"

Under the astonished gazes of the crowd, the green figure on the Flying Skateboard let out a shrill laugh.

Circling around the Foot Clan members and the NYPD Task Force, he threw out pumpkin-shaped objects, then soared into the air again, creating distance.

BOOM!!

No one had guessed that these pumpkin-shaped objects were actually bombs.

The next moment, flames erupted, and the shockwave spread outwards, like visible ripples in the air.

The NYPD Task Force members, though relatively far away, were still knocked back by the Pumpkin bomb's shockwave, suffering head wounds.

Their enemies, the Foot Clan members who took the brunt of the explosion, were torn to pieces, leaving no trace. Their bodies were charred black, as if burned by fire.

A few survivors, missing limbs, lay in a pool of blood and scattered remains. They struggled to open their eyes, their faces contorted in pain, their expressions a mix of shock and fear.

"Who is that?"

The police officers who had been sealing off the Brooklyn Docks sensed something was wrong and rushed forward to provide support.

George Stacy took the lead.

He saw the figures in the pool of blood and looked at his own Task Force members, clenching his fists.

Swoosh! Swoosh!

The green figure, still spinning in the sky, rode the Flying Skateboard.

"Damn it!"

George Stacy glared at the green figure, took out his firearm, aimed at the figure in the sky, and fired wildly.

"Get down here!"

George was furious, but the bullets didn't harm the green figure in the slightest.

The green figure casually threw out a throwing knife, forcing George to hide behind a nearby container, as the knife exploded, flipping the massive container over.

"Hahahaha, NYPD, I advise you to mind your own business!"

The green figure laughed heartily, both flamboyant and crazy. At this moment, Anton immediately switched out his basic armor, summoned the Rabbit Armor, and made his grand entrance.

BOOM!!

A shell launched from Anton's shoulder, trailing a long plume of fire, and shot towards the green figure that had paused momentarily in mid-air.

The green figure spun around abruptly, unable to dodge the incoming shell. It took a direct hit and plummeted from the sky, crashing into a pile of abandoned shipping containers. The impact ripped a massive hole in the metal.

The police and the remaining members of the NYPD Task Force quickly gathered, surrounding the damaged containers.

Following close behind, Anton leaped from the rooftop, spreading his cape to form a glider and arrived at the scene in a few seconds.

However, the shipping containers remained quiet for only a dozen seconds.

BOOM!!

Though knocked down, the green figure appeared unharmed, and once again soared into the air on its Flying Skateboard.

At the same time, the expression under his helmet was grim. He began to scatter Pumpkin bombs.

"Shit!"

George Stacy realized something was wrong.

This thing was clearly a meticulously packaged bomb.

He shouted at the top of his lungs, "Dodge! Get down!"

Anton frowned and leaped forward, rushing to the front of the group of police officers.

To avoid a tragedy, he gritted his teeth and threw himself on the Pumpkin bomb, taking the brunt of the impact for the officers.

BOOM!

A deafening sound erupted.

Flames and a shockwave danced menacingly in front of the police officers.

In their eyes, Batman was blown away by the Pumpkin bomb, soaring several meters into the air before falling.

Then, with a dull thud, the ground of the Brooklyn Docks instantly caved in, with spiderweb-like cracks spreading beneath their feet. It was clear how great the force of Batman's fall was, and they could only imagine the magnitude of the impact he'd endured.

"Hiss!!"

Anton felt a slight pain in his chest.

Even with the Rabbit Armor's extremely high defense, the simultaneous explosion of several Pumpkin bombs was still a terrifying prospect.

[Durability decreased by 65%, Damage rate 78%] [Warning: Rabbit Armor damage rate exceeds 50%, operational power severely affected, combat effectiveness reduced by 55%]

The system panel in front of him displayed a warning in red letters.

Anton's chest was throbbing with pain.

This was probably the most serious injury he'd sustained since he started out.

But now wasn't the time to dwell on his injuries.

He focused his thoughts.

[Repair Rabbit Armor. 3,200,000 Fan Points will be deducted (40% of the armor's original value). Confirm?] [Yes]

Before George Stacy and the others' astonished gazes, the Rabbit Armor was restored to its pristine condition, looking as good as new.

The NYPD Task Force members were all stunned, expressing their amazement at Batman's armor.

At the same time, George Stacy immediately stepped forward, his face full of gratitude. "Batman, thank you for saving us!"

"Yes, if it weren't for you, we'd probably be dead!"

The others snapped back to their senses and followed, their expressions quite excited. Thinking about what had just happened, they were all still a little scared.

Anton, under the mask, didn't have time to answer them.

He frowned, enduring the pain in his body, and looked at the green figure that had disappeared on the horizon. A serious look appeared in his eyes.

These people couldn't guess who the green figure was, but how could he not know!

Green Goblin!

Norman Osborn!

Why would this guy suddenly appear here and deal such a cruel blow to the Foot Clan?

Anton pondered for a moment. Seeing the Osborn Corporation logo on the remaining containers not far away, he suddenly understood.

Could it be because of these containers?

Speaking of which, editor Y said that my performance has improved slightly and gave me another chance. This week and next, I'll try to push for the "Three Rivers" recommendation... everyone knows how much encouragement the "Three Rivers" means to an author!

I started trying to write novels around 2012, when I was in my second year of junior high school, just writing for fun. In 2015, during my second year of high school, I got a "Three Rivers" recommendation, but then I didn't take it seriously in high school, and after the book was put up for sale, it flopped. Back then, I thought I was talented and didn't care. Now, I've even graduated from university, and I've been a failure for the past six years!

I earned about 30,000 yuan in royalties during my four years of university. 30,000 yuan over four years, averaging about 600 a month... Fortunately, I don't rely on this to eat, or I would have starved to death!

I used to dream of being a full-time author, but now I don't even dare to dream of it.

One yuan, two cents, you can't go wrong! Please!
