Chapter 220 - Intercept! Winter Soldier on the Plane!

"Let me see your courage…"

Batman's words completely baffled Destro and the others.

They all widened their eyes, not expecting to hear such words from a superhero.

Was this a provocation?

It was definitely a provocation!

As a superhero, did he no longer care about the safety of the citizens or the survival of the city?

Destro stared at the armored man in front of him, his face filled with disbelief.

"You!"

He swallowed hard, gritting his teeth, "You think I'm afraid? Batman, don't push me… When I'm pushed too far, I'll do anything!"

"Do it! Launch the Nanite Warhead, Destro!"

Anton's eyes were cold, his voice low, and a hint of disdain flickered in his gaze.

"You!!"

Destro was momentarily speechless.

If he launched the Nanite Warhead, even if New York fell, he would undoubtedly die.

He wanted to live, he didn't want to die!

But if things continued like this, death was inevitable!

Torn!

Destro trembled. Batman's relentless pressure had pushed him to the edge of a cliff, with a raging river churning far below.

He could either be killed on the cliff or try to escape by falling into the river.

"Fine!"

Destro gave a bitter laugh. "You leave me no choice!"

He slammed the box to the ground.

Bang!

The box immediately sprang open, activating the Nanite Warhead inside.

Click, click, click!

At the same time, Green Arrow fired several arrows, piercing the hearts of several of Destro's men, instantly taking their lives.

Destro collapsed to the ground, his face ashen.

Cyborg stepped forward and, in front of Destro, transformed one of his arms into an interface, plugging it into the internal system of the box containing the Nanite Warhead.

"It's useless. Once the program starts, it's irreversible. You can't stop the system."

Destro sneered.

He chose to accept his fate.

Since he wasn't going to survive, he might as well make his enemy despair.

The Nanite Warhead was a weapon developed by Destro's arms company.

As one of the investors and the head of the research team that created this weapon, he knew the power of the Nanite Warhead better than anyone.

Clang!

However, Destro quickly revealed an expression of disbelief.

"No!"

Destro's eyes widened, his jaw nearly hitting the floor: "How did you do that?"

Cyborg was seen instantly taking over the Nanite Warhead's activation program, forcibly erasing most of the program, causing the Nanite Warhead to enter a system shutdown state.

"This?!"

Destro didn't expect the one feeling despair to be himself, not his opponent.

No wonder Batman was so confident!

The Cyborg among them possessed such strong hacking abilities!

He could actually stop the Nanite Warhead after it had been activated!

Seeing this, Anton's cold smile grew even more intense.

Cyborg had previously infiltrated Alexander Pierce's computer and had a deep understanding of the Nanite Warhead's information. He knew that activating the Nanite Warhead wasn't easy and required a certain amount of time. Only with sufficient time could Cyborg have the ability to pause it.

"Alright!"

Wonder Woman stepped forward: "My turn next."

She summoned the Lasso of Truth, bound it around Destro, and prepared to interrogate him for information about Hydra.

A moment later.

Their expressions instantly turned ugly, followed by sneers.

"Three more Nanite Warheads have arrived..."

"Hydra really sees Batman as a thorn in their side, they won't give up until they get what they want!"

Anton's expression darkened slightly, his eyes filled with killing intent.

He had underestimated Hydra's determination. They were willing to expose their existence just to make Batman pay.

It seemed that Cyborg's previous intrusion into Alexander Pierce's computer, and the message Batman had left behind, had made Pierce and the others feel extremely threatened.

However, it was something Anton was happy to see: Hydra being afraid.

The conflict between them was fundamentally irreconcilable! And now, they were at war again! Then, let Hydra see whose fists were harder!

"Keep moving!"

Anton turned and looked at the three clones in front of him.

Even though the clones and his main body shared memories and a common way of thinking, he was still in the habit of using language to communicate.

"This time, let the Hydra people see whose territory New York really is!"

The voice faded.

Anton waved his hand, and a massive Batjet hovered in front of the four of them.

The Batjet's developer was Bruce Wayne's old comrade, Lucius Fox, the head of the technology department at Wayne Enterprises.

This was Anton's first time summoning the Batjet.

Previously, because the Batjet was too large, and he was acting alone, the Batmobile was sufficient.

Now, with all the clones moving together with the main body, a single Batmobile couldn't accommodate them.

Naturally, it was time for the Batjet to make an appearance.

"This, this is!!"

Destro slumped on the ground. The Lasso of Truth had already made him miserable, and his mouth seemed to be out of his control, only able to speak the truth.

The sudden appearance of the jet filled him with dread.

In his mind, the aircraft couldn't have just appeared. It must have arrived on the scene long ago, remaining cloaked.

Such stealth technology wasn't uncommon; similar techniques existed in the current world.

What shocked Destro was the appearance of the Batjet and the four members of the Justice League. It seemed they had already detected the Cobra Organization's actions, as if they were waiting in ambush, ready to trap them.

"How could this be?"

Destro was utterly dejected. He couldn't believe his supposedly powerful organization was being manipulated like a dog on a leash.

"Hydra..."

Fear filled his heart: "What kind of opponents have you provoked?"

"Take him away, he can't die yet."

Anton glanced at Destro behind him, whose face was ashen and filled with despair.

Then, Green Arrow escorted Destro into the Batjet.

The reason for not killing this guy was that he was the head of a massive arms company.

Wayne Enterprises was currently engaged in the arms business.

They had just started expanding their business through military channels domestically, and thanks to the production lines they bought from Hammer Industries at a low price, the business was doing quite well.

After all, Wayne Enterprises had only been established for a few months.

And Destro's MARS had a large amount of business overseas.

Destro, as the head of MARS, was quite useful to Wayne Enterprises.

For example, Anton knew that Destro personally controlled a secret production line called the "War God Factory." The weapons mass-produced on this line were all supplied to the Cobra Organization.

Anton planned to find a way to take over this production line from Destro and expand the scale of Wayne Enterprises.

After Destro's accident, his arms company, MARS, would inevitably be affected.

At that time, the overseas arms market would open up, which would be a great opportunity for Wayne Enterprises to enter the overseas arms market.

The thought flashed through his mind.

Under Anton's control, the Batjet took off, flying towards New York Airport without any concealment.

If Destro's confession was correct, then, at this moment, Hydra was having other members of the Cobra Organization cooperate with a certain high-level Hydra operative to transport the remaining three Nanite Warheads into the New York area.

Anton's goal, of course, was to eliminate them on the spot, without giving them a chance.

On a private transport plane, number MARS-1.

Several people were sitting in the plane, waiting for it to reach its destination.

Their faces were calm, but their eyes occasionally glanced at a person not far away, in the corner.

This person was muscular, with slightly long hair, and one arm made entirely of metal. He sat in a chair, motionless since boarding the plane, eyes closed in contemplation.

"Do you know who he is?"

Someone asked in a low voice.

"He's a ghost, a real ghost."

Suddenly, a man in a white combat suit spoke, his tone low: "Many intelligence agencies don't believe in his existence, but those who do, call him the Winter Soldier…"

"Winter Soldier?"

At this moment, everyone was looking at each other, except for the man they called the "Winter Soldier," who was still standing motionless.

Clearly, they had all heard the name.

"I thought it was just a legend?"

"Is it real?"

"White Ghost, are you sure he's the Winter Soldier?"

The group was somewhat shocked.

"Over the past fifty years, he's been considered the culprit in over twenty assassination cases."

At this moment, the man in the white combat suit, with two katana swords on his back, known as "White Ghost," slowly spoke again: "He appeared fifty years ago and committed a world-shocking assassination. Now he's appeared again... He's more qualified to be called a ghost than I am."

"Fifty years ago?"

Someone questioned: "If he started killing fifty years ago, he'd be at least sixty years old now, but I feel like he's only in his thirties. Maybe 'Winter Soldier' is just a title, a title that's been passed down."

"No."

White Ghost glanced at the person, speaking coldly: "A few years ago, when I first came to America, I took on an assassination mission, but after I snuck into the target's house, he was already dead, shot in the head. Later, someone attacked me, and I fought with him. I was no match for him, beaten half to death, and fell into the river, barely surviving."

He paused, glancing at Winter Soldier not far away, filled with apprehension: "Afterwards, I searched for a long time before vaguely confirming his identity... The person who fought with me was him! Winter Soldier!"

"He was exactly the same back then..."

Swoosh!

As he spoke, the Winter Soldier in the corner opened his eyes. His gaze was icy, devoid of any human emotion.

The temperature in the plane seemed to have dropped significantly.

Everyone felt a chill run down their spines, as if they were being watched by a beast, especially White Ghost, who had spoken.

He instinctively reached for the hilt of the sword on his back, looking at the Winter Soldier with extreme caution.

Swoosh!

The Winter Soldier closed his eyes.

The plane gradually returned to a state of calm.

But now, no one dared to speak about the Winter Soldier anymore.

It was a long time.

"Everyone, we're almost there!"

A man stood up, smiling. He was the temporary captain of the team, though others might not recognize him as such.

He was Zartan, the master of disguise from the Cobra Organization.
