Chapter 9 - Accident

After leaving home, Mark drove his boxy Gol to the city of Port Angeles.

The trip took almost a full hour.

Since Mark was driving very fast the entire time, he arrived in Port Angeles in less than an hour.

While driving through Port Angeles, Mark passed in front of a movie theater and, suddenly, found something to do.

He changed direction and headed to the parking lot.

After parking the car, Mark walked toward the theater.

Once inside, he saw several posters of movies that were showing.

In his previous life, he loved going to the movies to watch new releases.

When Mark looked at the last poster, he was a bit surprised because the name of the movie was Fantastic Four.

Even the actors in the poster photo were exactly the same as in his previous world.

Mark was amazed by the charm of parallel universes.

Mark looked at the movie showtimes and noticed that the next session started at six o'clock in the evening.

He checked the watch on his wrist and saw that there were ten minutes left before it started.

Mark quickly went to the counter and bought a ticket and, after buying some snacks, he entered the theater.

To his surprise, the room was almost empty.

After counting, Mark found that only seven people, including himself, were going to watch the movie.

After finding his seat number, Mark waited silently for the session to begin.

Soon the movie started, and Mark watched Fantastic Four with deep focus.

Since the actors were the same as in his previous life, he wanted to know if the movie would be exactly the same.

"Looks like the effects are better than I remember," Mark murmured as he watched the movie attentively.

Soon the movie ended, and Mark left the theater a bit disappointed.

Aside from the effects, which seemed better, the movie was exactly as he remembered; being a parallel universe, he expected changes.

"So disappointing... I think I'll grab something to eat." Saying that, Mark checked the time and noticed it was almost nine o'clock at night.

Luckily, before passing the theater, he had seen a pizzeria along the way.

Mark got in his car and drove to the place he had seen.

In less than ten minutes, Mark arrived and parked the car.

Smelling the scent of pizza in the air, Mark's mouth watered.

"Smells so good," Mark murmured.

After entering, Mark found a place to sit and looked at the menu on the table.

"Oh... Looks like they also have burgers," Mark thought.

After reading everything, he called the waitress and placed his order: one large pizza, two burgers with fries, and a chocolate milkshake.

"Is that all, sir?" the waitress asked with a smile.

"Yes!" Mark confirmed.

"All right, please wait a moment!" she said, then walked away.

Mark looked around at the people who were there eating and didn't recognize anyone.

Some time later, the waitress brought all of Mark's orders.

After placing the last dish, she said with a smile, "Enjoy your meal, sir!"

"Thank you," Mark replied, without taking his eyes off the food.

Although it seemed like a lot, for Mark he could eat much more without feeling full.

Because of his special physique, which converts everything he eats into pure energy, digestion is very fast.

Mark grabbed the meaty burger in front of him and took a big bite, and his eyes lit up.

"So tasty!" Mark thought, while grabbing his chocolate milkshake to try it.

Feeling that addictive chocolate flavor, he ate in large bites.

In less than half an hour, he had eaten everything.

This surprised the people around him a bit, but Mark didn't care.

He quickly called the waitress and asked for the bill.

After paying, Mark left; it was time to go home, even though it was late at night.

Thanks to the physique of the Eucharist of Chaos, Mark doesn't need to sleep; he only sleeps because it's something he enjoys doing.

Mark got into his boxy Gol and drove home.

On the way, he stopped to refuel and filled the tank.

The trip back to Forks took almost an hour, and Mark stepped on the gas to get home as quickly as possible.

Since it was nighttime, there were almost no cars on the road; Mark wasn't worried about a sudden accident.

Mark looked at the poorly lit road ahead and turned on the high beams to improve visibility.

This road was only 20 minutes away from Forks, and Mark accelerated to get out of that dark stretch as quickly as possible.

And it was at that moment that a large animal jumped in front of Mark's car, and he reacted by turning the steering wheel to the side, trying to avoid the animal.

But the animal was scared and ran in the same direction Mark tried to swerve, and he could only pull the wheel back.

But the car was going so fast that this movement caused the car Mark was driving to flip over.

Crash!
