"It's just Black Mask," Lin Chen said lightly. "Nothing worth losing sleep over."
Catwoman frowned."I know you're strong, but the police have hundreds of guns. Can you dodge bullets forever?"
Lin Chen stepped closer, catching a faint whiff of her perfume."Hmm… sounds like someone's worried about me."
Her face warmed slightly. She pressed a finger against his chest and pushed him back."Don't flatter yourself. I just don't want my favorite livestream to end abruptly."
"Duplicitous as always." Lin Chen grinned.
Catwoman sniffed the air suddenly, frowning."Hot pot? You had hot pot with them and didn't call me?"
"I didn't know you liked it," Lin Chen teased.
She rubbed her stomach pitifully."I came all the way here to get you some intel, and I haven't even had lunch…"
Lin Chen sighed in mock defeat and went to cook.Soon, a bowl of noodles with a soft-boiled egg appeared before her."Here. Eat before it gets cold."
Catwoman dug in happily."Mmm… didn't expect you to be this good at cooking."
Lin Chen touched her waist playfully."It's hard work, after all."
She froze."You're doing that on purpose!"
As she finished eating, she asked casually,"I heard you bought a police villa?"

After a moment's hesitation, she smiled softly."Alright. I believe you."
She licked her lips and stood up."Take me to see this villa of yours."
"Sure," Lin Chen said. "Let's check on the construction progress."
She hopped on her motorcycle, and Lin Chen swung onto the seat behind her, wrapping an arm around her slender waist.The engine roared — Boom! — and they sped into the night.
Behind them, several thugs emerged from the shadows, gasoline cans in hand.They were Kane's men, ready to torch Lin Chen's shop in revenge.
But before they could strike — darkness fell.
"What the hell—?"
"Power outage?!"
One turned on his phone flashlight — nothing but pitch blackness."No signal either! That Taoist freak's cursed us!"They screamed into the night as unseen forces enveloped them.
Meanwhile, Lin Chen and Catwoman arrived at the mountain villa.Old Cai was still directing workers under floodlights, pushing to finish ahead of schedule.
Lin Chen handed out drinks."Boss Cai, take a break. You've worked hard."
"Thank you, Chief Lin."Old Cai nodded — then glanced at Catwoman beside him.A flicker of envy, jealousy, and pure frustration crossed his face.
They were both hardworking Xia Country men in America…So why did Lin Chen get to dine with beauties like this — exotic, graceful, sensual perfection itself?
Old Cai sighed bitterly."Some men really do live blessed lives…"
Walking along the lawn, Catwoman chuckled."That foreman looks jealous of you."
Lin Chen shrugged."Who can blame him? You're too charming."
Catwoman smiled, eyes twinkling. She pointed to the crescent-shaped pool."I like this pool."
"I figured you would. You love swimming… maybe you should just move in?"
"Such a smooth talker!" she laughed, half embarrassed, half pleased.After wandering through the garden and villa, she finally sighed softly.
"What should I do? I think I really like this place."She looked at him with a teasing smile."Lin Chen… can I move in with you?"
