"Bastards! You actually believed the words of that Taoist priest!" Kane's mind raced. He glanced nervously at the wall, unease flickering across his face.
Just then, Jill entered with several detectives in tow.
"Mr. Sienis," she said coolly, holding out a paper, "this is a search warrant regarding the murder of your wife, Tina."
Kane frowned, trying to sound calm."Detective, you must be mistaken. My wife is still missing—how could I possibly be a murderer?"
Jill smiled faintly. Without replying, she walked straight to the bookcase, ran her hand along the shelves, stopped at the third panel of a Bible, and pressed down.
Kane's face instantly changed."What are you doing? You have no right to touch that!"
A section of the wall slid open, revealing a hidden room — a bedroom. A large bed stood inside, perfectly made.
Kane's voice rose."This is my private resting place! What are you trying to do?"
Ignoring him, Jill pulled the mattress aside, exposing the solid concrete surface beneath.
Kane lunged forward to stop her, but the detectives restrained him.
Jill took a hammer from one of them. Her strength had increased dramatically since absorbing spiritual energy in Arkham — more than ten times that of an ordinary person.
Bang!The hammer came down hard, cracking the concrete bed. A foul stench filled the air as part of Tina's decomposing body emerged.
"Mr. Sienis," Jill said coldly, "what do you have to say for yourself now?"
Kane froze for a moment, then regained his composure."I have nothing to say. I want a lawyer."
He was shaken, but not panicked. He still believed his wealth could protect him — with money, any charge could be fought.
"Take him away," Jill ordered with a frown.
Then she stepped aside and called Lin Chen."Daoist priest, we found the body hidden inside his secret room. But he refuses to plead guilty — he's difficult to handle."
Lin Chen nodded on the other end."Understood. If you need my help, just ask."
"Alright, I'll handle the rest first," Jill replied.
Lin Chen turned back to his live stream."Everyone, after Kane murdered his wife, he sealed her inside cement — then turned that cement into his bed. He's been sleeping on it ever since."
The live chat exploded in outrage:
"What a psycho!""Absolute pervert!""And people like this still get to live comfortably?""With money, you can get away with anything."
Lin Chen sighed."Actually, there's a reason behind this kind of madness. Many perverts had tragic childhoods. For example, the Joker — often beaten by his drunken father."
"[The Clown]: Chat, I didn't expect the Taoist priest to be interested in my childhood too."
Lin Chen ignored the message and went on."Kane grew up wealthy, yes, but his father was a twisted man — he often beat and humiliated his mother. Harley drawled dramatically, "We? Oh, Master, you're done for."
Lin Chen chuckled, started his motorcycle, and the two of them sped off toward the southeast of Gotham City.
Half an hour later, they reached the Atlantic coast — a hillside villa district. Nestled between mountains and sea, the scenery was stunning.
Harley gazed happily at the ocean in the distance."Master, the environment here is amazing!"
Lin Chen nodded. The place was a feng shui treasure — surrounded by mountains and water, backed by the hills, and facing the sea.
The sunlight poured down, bright and golden. Lin Chen looked around in satisfaction."The sunlight here is strong — it dispels evil, attracts good fortune. Add the sea breeze and the abundance of natural energy — living here would be great for one's health."
They rode up to a mansion on the far left. A real estate agent was already waiting outside — a chubby, middle-aged man of Xia descent.
"Mr. Lin, over here!" the agent called out, jogging over.
Lin Chen got off the bike."You must be Manager Wang?"
"Yes, yes, just call me Old Wang." He smiled broadly.
"This house is for sale?" Lin Chen asked, pointing toward the sprawling villa ahead.
"Yes, Mr. Lin. Please, come take a look."
Old Wang glanced at Harley beside Lin Chen, secretly giving the man a thumbs-up in his mind. Handsome, rich, and dating a knockout. Lucky guy.
He unlocked the gate, and the three stepped inside. A crescent-shaped swimming pool shimmered in the front yard, overlooking the sea below the cliff.
The entire property spanned nearly eight acres — complete with a gym, labyrinth garden, tennis courts, and even a small grove.
The house itself stood two and a half stories tall, built in a classical stone style. With seven bedrooms, a large living room with a fireplace, and bright, open lighting, it combined modern simplicity with retro charm.
Harley whispered, "Master, I love that crescent pool. You can swim and watch the sea at the same time."
Lin Chen was also satisfied. The mansion sat on terrain shaped like a dragon drinking water — and this villa happened to be located at the dragon's head, where energy was most concentrated. A few minor formations would easily amplify its spiritual aura.
"Old Wang, why is the owner selling such a beautiful villa?"
Old Wang hesitated before replying."Mr. Lin, to be honest, they don't really want to sell. But lately, Gotham's situation has become tense — too much crime, too many robberies."
Lin Chen nodded. "That's one reason. But I suppose the other is… failed investments and unpaid debts?"
Old Wang blinked in surprise."Mr. Lin, it seems you've done your homework. That's exactly right! How did you know?"
Harley laughed."It's the Taoist priest's job to know everything!"
"Taoist priest?" Old Wang froze — then his eyes went wide."Oh my god, you're Lin Daochang! My wife and kids are huge fans! I can't believe this!"
He clapped his hands together excitedly."Master Lin, please divine something for me!"

Old Wang waved his hands frantically."No, no, Master Taoist — you're straightforward! I like that!"
"Good. Then tell me the price," Lin Chen said, smiling faintly. "The lowest one. And don't even think about hiding it from me."
