The three of them got into the car and returned to New York, dropping Mindy off first.
Damon opened the door with Kate, smiling happily. "Hey, Mindy, when did you come back home?"
Mindy almost burst into tears. "Big Daddy, I didn't come home last night! Didn't you notice?!"
Damon and Kate exchanged awkward looks. "Kate just got back from her flight yesterday. We were… a little too caught up."
Mindy couldn't take it anymore. She hugged Diana's leg and cried loudly."This family is impossible! It's summer vacation—I'm going to Gotham to relax!"
Lin Chen added calmly, "Damon, when you're in love you still have to look after the kids. I'll criticize you for that. Please pay more attention to her this summer."

Diana's mouth twitched. "You're really energetic."
Lin Chen said it wasn't easy to come to New York, so he might as well buy more.

Gotham and New York weren't far apart. By sea, the straight-line distance was even shorter—about two hours.
