Tony turned back toward Lin Chen."Master, this isn't difficult. They're just a few small fry."
Lin Chen looked toward New York."You'll understand what real difficulty is once you get there."
Black Widow's voice came through the communicator."Stinky Taoist, there's a total power outage across New York!"
"Good," Lin Chen replied calmly. "The monster has taken the bait. Everyone, prepare for combat."
Tony checked the internet as well."Superman is fighting a monster in New York—no, it would be more accurate to say Superman is getting absolutely beaten! The Rice Building is about to be destroyed!"
Black Widow suddenly shouted,"Has that episode been canceled?! I just observed a moment of silence and made a fortune!"
The other two turned to look at Lin Chen."Daoist, what's going on?"
"Our resident female lunatic skipped her medication again," Lin Chen sighed. "Forgive me. Let's head to New York—now."
The aircraft sped toward New York. Wonder Woman called Lin Chen.
"Lin, where are you?"
"I'm on the plane. Heading to New York now. Preparing to meet the monster."
"You're insane," Wonder Woman scolded. "Superman can't beat it. You're just throwing your life away!"
"Then are you coming?"
"Don't come. You'll die!"Diana hung up.
Black Widow shot Lin Chen a glare."Which wild flower is this? She sounds impressive."
Lin Chen smiled faintly."You'd better not provoke her. She might blow you up."
"Hmph. Who are you looking down on? We'll see later," Black Widow said, glancing at the electric shock ring on her wrist.
When the aircraft arrived, Doomsday was fighting Superman on the rooftop of the Rice Building.
Superman was already on the verge of being overwhelmed.
Left with no choice, Superman made a decisive decision—he grabbed Doomsday and flew straight into outer space. The two ascended higher and higher.
The U.S. military hastily deployed nuclear weapons and fired without hesitation, completely ignoring the fact that Superman was still there.
The nuclear missile struck the entangled pair and detonated with a thunderous explosion.
The three of them stared at the blazing inferno in space, stunned.
Lin Chen clicked his tongue."That's ruthless."
"That's why I don't want to deal with these people," Batman said coldly.
Black Widow froze."So… the monster's dead?"
"If only it were that simple," Lin Chen shook his head. "Doomsday only grows stronger. He's an energy-adaptive entity. The more energy you throw at him, the stronger his mutation becomes."
With a deafening crash, Doomsday fell back from space and slammed into an island near New York, roaring wildly as his body continued to evolve.
"They've already switched tactics," Batman said. "They're turning him into a Chlorothine-type entity. We'll lure him to Gotham's abandoned port and use Chlorothine against him."
Lin Chen patted Black Widow on the shoulder."Whether we survive the trip depends entirely on your driving skills."
She pouted."Who are you underestimating? Watch closely."
The aircraft opened fire, drawing Doomsday's attention.
Iron Man moved faster. His laser blast struck Doomsday, followed by a flying punch.
Doomsday backhanded Iron Man, sending him crashing into the sea.
"Come fast, leave fast," Lin Chen muttered, speechless.
Doomsday's eyes glowed crimson. Heat rays thicker than Superman's tore through the air toward the aircraft.
Black Widow yanked the control stick hard. The aircraft veered right and sped toward Gotham's port.
Doomsday pursued relentlessly, heat rays sweeping across the sky and lighting up the heavens.
The aircraft crossed the bay at full speed and soon reached the abandoned port.
Boom!
The aircraft was struck by Doomsday's wing and spiraled downward.
"We're going to crash! Everyone brace yourselves!" Black Widow shouted.
Batman quickly activated several layers of energy shields.
Lin Chen grabbed Black Widow, leapt out mid-air, and landed firmly on the ground.
"ROAR!"
Doomsday arrived moments later and fired heat rays directly at Lin Chen.
Unable to dodge in time, Lin Chen took the attack head-on. More than a dozen Spirit Shield Talismans instantly disintegrated into ash.
Enraged, Doomsday launched a relentless assault, determined to kill Lin Chen.
Lin Chen dodged repeatedly, but even with Spirit Shields, he was barely keeping up.
Cradled in his arms, Black Widow panicked."Put me down and run! Otherwise we'll both die!"
"Die? Impossible," Lin Chen waved dismissively. "You haven't served me yet."
Batman hid in a corner and sighed."I can't compare to this Taoist. He's risking his life to pick up girls. I concede."
Lin Chen shouted while dodging,"Wade! Where the hell did you crawl off to?!"
Deadpool popped out from behind cover."Master! I'm here! That thing is too fierce—I think retreating is the wiser option!"
"Retreat my ass! Get over here and block a few hits!"
"How many hits?!" Wade shuddered, but seeing Lin Chen's expression, he gave in.
He yelled,"Hey, you ugly bastard! Come at me!"
ZAP!
Doomsday's heat ray hit Wade square in the face, blasting a massive hole straight through him.
Deadpool collapsed to the ground.
Black Widow stared blankly."I thought he was impressive… turns out he's a one-shot wonder? Your brother's brave, I'll give him that."
Lin Chen laughed."He's not one-shot."
Black Widow was speechless."Be honest—are you planning to reuse his corpse?"
Batman shrank further into cover, deeply saddened.
Doomsday turned back to Lin Chen and resumed firing heat rays.
Black Widow yelled,"Do you have any normal friends?! Call a few more!"
Lin Chen jumped over and kicked Wade hard."Get up and work! Stop pretending to be dead!"
Black Widow: "…You're ruthless."
Wade stood up shakily, grinning."Sister-in-law, don't worry. I can block a few more times!"
BOOM!
He was sent flying again, another hole blasted through him. This time, before Lin Chen could say anything, Wade started yelling at Doomsday again, activating full trash-talk mode.
"Fuck you, idiot! You're so ugly you shouldn't even be allowed outside!"
"That pile of rotten flesh makes me puke up yesterday's dinner!"
"Obviously a single dog for ten thousand years!"
Doomsday leapt forward, grabbed Deadpool, and smashed him into the ground repeatedly.
BAM! BAM! BAM!
Wade screamed and cursed nonstop—the faster he was smashed, the faster he talked.
Black Widow murmured,"Your friend is toxic…"
CRASH!
Doomsday finally stomped down hard, embedding Wade deep into the ground.
Silence fell at last.
Lin Chen exhaled in relief. Even he was getting irritated by the noise.
Doomsday locked onto Lin Chen again, red light blazing as it charged.
Suddenly—
A graceful figure flashed past.
Long legs struck like lightning.
Doomsday's heat rays were blocked.
Black Widow widened her eyes. A female warrior clad in Spartan-style armor stood firm, blocking the heat rays with metal bracers.
The shockwave from her strike sent Doomsday flying backward.
Diana turned her head."You got involved in this mess too? That's reckless, even for you."
Her gaze dropped to Black Widow in Lin Chen's arms. She immediately turned away."Don't put her down. Doesn't she have legs of her own?!"
Black Widow was stunned."Isn't this your researcher from New York? She's this strong?!"
She silently put away the electric shock ring on her wrist.
