Batman felt the same way. He staggered back two steps in shock.
Superman's lips twitched. He grabbed Batman and dragged him across the ground before taking off.
This time, it was Batman's turn to scream.
Once again, he was beaten until bloodied, then flung aside like a rag doll.
Superman charged again.
Unfortunately for him, another kryptonite bullet struck. As Qi Xinghuazi pulled the trigger, Superman was instantly disabled once more.

Lin Chen patted his shoulder."This was all part of Luthor's game. Superman is just a son who came to you after his mother was taken."
"Then why didn't he say so earlier?!" Batman roared.
He slammed Superman to the ground, the kryptonite spear aimed straight at him.
Iron Man also spoke up."Have you thought this through? This would be murder. Is this your rule?"
Batman paused."I'm a bat in the dark. What rules do I need?"
As a helicopter roared overhead, Superman's girlfriend arrived. She ran over anxiously, casting strange glances at the group of women—every single one prettier than herself.
Batman slashed Superman's face with the kryptonite spear."So you bleed too."
Superman shouted,"Luthor is going to kill Martha! Find her!"
Batman froze, suddenly emotional."What do you mean? Why did you say that name?!"
Superman's girlfriend screamed,"Martha is his mother's name!"
Batman looked at Lin Chen in confusion."Taoist, what's going on?"
Lin Chen shrugged."Obviously, both your mothers are named Martha."
"He's my brother?!"
Iron Man sneered."What are you thinking? Is your brain broken? Superman is an alien!"
"It just happens that your mother's name is Martha."
Batman thought of his own mother—of the obsession he had carried for so many years. Superman had to save his mother before it was too late.
He staggered back and threw away the kryptonite spear.
Finally, everyone could speak calmly.
Superman's girlfriend said urgently,"That alien scout ship is draining power across New York."
"Luthor is resurrecting General Zod using chlorokinesis," Lin Chen added.
"What?!" Everyone was shocked.
Superman stood up to save his mother, but Batman stopped him."The Kryptonian ship needs you. I'll save Martha. I promise she'll be safe today."
He wasn't just speaking to Superman—but to his own childhood self. This time, he would not allow his mother to be lost again.
Iron Man smiled."Isn't this perfect? Let's save people together."
Whoosh! Superman shot off.
Lin Chen snapped his fingers and pinpointed Martha's location.
Black Widow had already boarded Batman's aircraft."Only two people can come."
Batman and Lin Chen climbed aboard.
Lin Chen shouted at Jill and the others,"Leave now! Stay at least five kilometers away! If anyone violates this again, I'll kick her out of the house!"
Catwoman and the others fled immediately. The Taoist priest was genuinely angry—and that was terrifying.
Iron Man gave a thumbs-up."Now that is a real man. Free as the wind. I'm jealous."
Deadpool pointed at himself."Master, what about me?"
"You stay here. Guard the kryptonite spear."
Wade swallowed. It felt like he had jumped into a deep pit.
Whoosh! Iron Man launched forward.
The aircraft followed quickly. Lin Chen had not yet reached Earth Immortal level, so his flying speed was limited—he had to rely on the aircraft.
He smiled at Black Widow."Natalie, are you still teaching aircraft piloting at university?"
"Hey! I'm self-taught!" Black Widow replied. She felt increasingly exposed—either this Taoist already knew her identity, or he was dangerously perceptive.
"Do you know what I do?" she asked while flying.
"How would I know? The first time I saw you, I fell in love with your face. How could I think about anything else?"
She pouted softly."Get lost."
Lin Chen suddenly waved his hand near her."Mmm. Smells nice."
"You shameless rogue!"
Batman complained bitterly,"Taoist, I'm still here. Can you two save the flirting for later?"
The aircraft soon reached a warehouse near the port—where Superman's mother was being held.
Terrorists opened fire at the aircraft.
Black Widow performed a graceful tailspin and evaded the attack.
"Oh! She's even better than me!" Batman exclaimed. "I need an assistant like her!"
She ignored him. The aircraft's weapons roared to life, destroying all heavy weapons on the ground.
"Alright, gentlemen," she said calmly. "You can enter the warehouse."
Batman jumped down. Black Widow looked at Lin Chen."Go. Be careful. I'll provide air cover."
Lin Chen nodded and flew toward the warehouse.
Whoosh! A metal blur flew past him and smashed straight into the building.
Inside, Batman had already gained the upper hand against the goons when he was suddenly held at knifepoint.
Iron Man crashed through the wall, raised his hand, and energy blasts instantly killed several terrorists.
The bearded leader aimed a flamethrower at Superman's mother and shouted at Batman,"Drop the weapon or I kill her!"
Iron Man was about to fire micro-missiles from his shoulder.
Lin Chen tapped his armor."Tony, let Batman handle it. He wants redemption."
Batman glanced at Lin Chen gratefully. Today, he was saving a Martha—a mother.
The bearded man roared,"I have a hostage! You think I'm bluffing? I'll shoot!"
Batman fired instantly, hitting the flamethrower's fuel tank."I believe you will."
He lunged forward and wrapped Martha in his cape.
The warehouse erupted in flames.
Iron Man stepped forward, shielding Lin Chen.
Lin Chen was actually protected by a spiritual barrier and completely unharmed, but Tony's action still made him feel that Tony was a decent guy.
Batman said softly,"It's okay. I'm your son's friend."
Martha looked at him and smiled faintly."I guessed it. You're wearing a cape too."
Tony muttered,"I was just about ready to fight them, and now they're friends again? Hypocrites."
"The classic cape bonding," Lin Chen laughed. "Everyone knows it."
Tony shuddered."No… this is a huge melon. No wonder it was so tragic—turns out it's a bitter drama of confusion and abandonment!"
