"Kokushibo — Upper Rank One of the Twelve Kizuki, the Blade Demon, and the strongest demon under Muzan Kibutsuji.
His name when he was human was Tsugikuni Michikatsu, eldest son of the Tsugikuni samurai family during the Sengoku era, and the older brother of Tsugikuni Yoriichi.
He devoted his life to perfecting the sword and surpassing his younger brother, Tsugikuni Yoriichi.
His Blood Demon Art allows him to transform his own flesh into blades, capable of freely releasing crescent moon slashes and blade winds.
His Breathing Style is Moon Breathing, a direct derivative of the original style — Sun Breathing.
You and your brother, Tsugikuni Yoriichi…
That's all I wanted to say. Do you have anything you'd like to add?"
Muyang recited Kokushibo's basic profile, then mentioned a few things regarding him and Yoriichi, watching closely for any change in Kokushibo's expression.
"Who are you? How do you know these things?!"
Hearing his secrets spoken aloud one after another, Kokushibo's pupils trembled. All six inhuman eyes locked onto Muyang, sharp as blades. If Black Zetsu had not seized control of his body, his reaction would have been far more intense.
After all, among those "secrets," some were trivial, but some were extremely specific — things from the Sengoku period.
That was over four hundred years ago. In Kokushibo's understanding, no human could live that long, and the man before him was not a demon.
After the initial shock came calm. Regaining composure, Kokushibo began reasoning.
This man must have learned those things because someone in the family wrote a diary, recording such matters. Or perhaps Yoriichi told someone before he died, and the story simply spread.
"You're asking how I know? That's because…"
Muyang clapped his right hand to the side. A figure slowly emerged — an elderly man with long, pale hair, wearing hanafuda earrings, and a deep crimson flame-shaped birthmark on his left forehead.
He wore a yellow kimono, black hakama, and a red haori draped over his shoulders. A sword hung at his waist.
"…He told me!"
Resting his palm on the old man's left arm, Muyang smiled.
Seeing that face — the one etched into the deepest part of his memory — Kokushibo broke free from Black Zetsu's control for an instant. Like a frightened kitten, he leapt backward a short distance, staring at the old man in shock.
"Yo… Yoriichi!!!"
"It has been a long time, Brother."
The soul of Tsugikuni Yoriichi greeted him calmly. Even though he had just been pulled from hell into the living world, his expression was serene, his tone unwavering.
"I remember that you already…"
Scenes from over four centuries ago resurfaced in Kokushibo's mind, and his shock gradually faded.
Yes — Yoriichi was dead. He couldn't still be alive. I saw it with my own eyes…
Everything before me is an illusion!
Believing he had uncovered the truth, Kokushibo regained his calm once again. He looked at Muyang and declared firmly:
"You are not human. You are a demon. You possess a Blood Demon Art capable of illusion. Everything I see right now is an illusion. Everything I heard earlier was hallucination — none of it is real!"
If Black Zetsu weren't controlling his body, Kokushibo would surely be wearing the self-assured expression of "I've already seen through you."
"Pfft~~" Yukari Yakumo covered her mouth, snickering.
Kaguya Ōtsutsuki stood nearby hugging a bucket of popcorn, tilting her head as she looked at Kokushibo with her Byakugan. Considering the situation and her posture, her gaze seemed to be implying something…
But regardless of what she meant, to anyone else, it simply looked like she was rolling her eyes at him.
"You're the one who isn't human." Muyang's face went stiff.
Being insulted so suddenly, Muyang really wanted to slap Kokushibo to death — but thinking about it again, killing him with a single slap felt too merciful.
I'll deal with you tomorrow.
With that thought, Muyang walked to the sofa in the corner of the room, sat down, and began organizing basic information from all the worlds he visited today.
Perhaps more people would want to immigrate to other worlds in the future. It was better to prepare all the reference material ahead of time — so next time, people could browse through the potential housing first. He wouldn't have to run around one by one like today.
Yukari Yakumo drifted over and sat beside him on the sofa, mind diving into the system shop as she browsed item after item.
Evening to midnight was her active period — she had no intention of sleeping.
Kaguya Ōtsutsuki, holding her bucket of popcorn, walked into the bedroom. Seeing this, Black Zetsu detached himself from Kokushibo's body, transformed into a black cat, and chased after his "mother."
Once Black Zetsu left him, Kokushibo instantly felt his body lighten. Control returned to him.
He swept his eyes across the three people in the living room. Not bothering to question why he suddenly regained mobility, he focused instead on the nonexistent "illusion demon" he thought was hiding somewhere. Staying here was pointless, so he prepared to leave.
This indignity… I will repay it someday!
Thinking that, Kokushibo was about to stand when a low voice sounded beside his ear:
"Stop."
His body froze again. He couldn't move at all — not even his eyes.
"Don't think about running. You must pay the price for what you said."
The familiar voice entered Kokushibo's ears once more. Rage burned in his chest.
I, the Upper Rank One… being toyed with by some ordinary demon?!
Illusion demon… I will kill you!
"Brother…"
Yoriichi's soul stepped in front of Kokushibo, meeting his gaze, and began speaking softly about trivial matters.
After four hundred years, seeing his brother again, Yoriichi simply wanted to reminisce a little.
Kokushibo's expression froze; he seemed to want to say something, but with his body restrained, he couldn't speak.
As Yoriichi continued recounting stories, memories long forgotten resurfaced in Kokushibo's mind. The fire of anger slowly faded as old emotions stirred.
Once again calm, Kokushibo began searching the area for the "illusion demon."
Everyone in the living room was simply doing their own thing.
Inside the bedroom, Kaguya Ōtsutsuki looked at the LCD television mounted on the wall. She picked up the remote and switched it on, intending to watch.
But being in another world, the TV had no signal.
"Black Zetsu."
Kaguya sat by the bed, calling softly for her younger son.
Black Zetsu immediately understood. He trotted to the cabinet under the television, where a DVD player sat.
Below it was a drawer. Using his tail, the cat-like Black Zetsu pulled it open and fished out a disc — Taxi. He inserted it into the player.
Then he ran back to Kaguya, leapt lightly, and lay across her knees like a real cat.
Kaguya stroked him gently with her right hand, grabbing popcorn with her left, feeding herself small bites while never taking her eyes off the screen.
After a moment, the movie began to play.
