Chapter 150 - The Black-Haired Samurai Who Walked Straight to the Door

Who… was that person?

Mu Yang checked the join-and-leave records of the group chat and found an unfamiliar name—someone who had joined and left within twenty or thirty minutes.

A person both lucky and unlucky.

Mu Yang sighed softly. His consciousness withdrew from the chat group, and the clarity in his eyes gradually returned.

It was already deep into the night. His gaze swept across the surroundings…

A layer of dry leaves covered the ground—not too thick, not too thin. Trees with lush, dense branches rose from the earth, forming a thriving forest. Branches overlapped layer upon layer, preventing moonlight from reaching the forest floor, casting everything in darkness and gloom.

A cold wind howled, its mournful whistle weaving through the woods. Branches swayed with the wind, and the occasional beam of moonlight pierced through, flickering like a wandering ghost—mysterious and eerie.

Mu Yang's perspective lifted, overlooking the area…

More scenery filled his vision. The three of them were positioned halfway up a mountain.

The slope was relatively gentle, and dense forest covered every side. There were no other mountains nearby. At the southern and northern bases of the mountain sat two villages, surrounded by cultivated farmland.

Farther out…

Lush grasslands, rolling mountain ranges, winding rivers, villages and towns by the water and mountains…

After over ten seconds, Mu Yang was about to speak when Ōtsutsuki Kaguya spoke before him.

"Explore tomorrow."

With that, Kaguya waved her hand. Chakra turned into wind blades, shredding every tree within a twenty-meter radius into dust, clearing a patch of open ground.

She waved again, and with a rumble, a smooth semicircular slab of rock rose from the earth.

The cat-shaped Black Zetsu reached a paw into its mouth and pulled out a thumb-sized capsule. It pressed a button on the capsule and tossed it forward.

"Poof~~~"

White smoke billowed. A delicate little house appeared before the three.

Kaguya opened the door and walked inside.

"Universal capsule," Mu Yang muttered before following her in. Yakumo Zi, who entered last, casually closed the door.

The interior wasn't large—one bedroom, one living area, one bathroom.

The living room was brightly lit. To the left was a sofa and coffee table; to the right, a kitchen and refrigerator.

The kitchen was fully stocked with cookware and seasonings. The fridge contained fresh fruits, vegetables, and meat. But among the three, the one with the best cooking skills was Mu Yang… and the dish he was best at was instant noodles.

The kitchen ended up being decoration. The three decided to order delivery, each entering the marketplace one after another to purchase whatever food they liked.

...

Rustle…

In the mountain forest, dry yellow leaves blanketed the ground. Moss covered the rocks. A cold wind swept through the woods, stirring dust and dead leaves. The atmosphere everywhere was bleak and desolate.

A man with a samurai sword at his waist walked forward with steady steps, advancing against the mountain wind.

He had very long, thick black side-locks, tied into a high ponytail. His dense black hair, his purple snake-pattern kimono, and his black hakama all fluttered in the wind.

Rumble…

A brief noise came from the distance. The black-haired, sword-bearing man turned toward the sound, and a bright light pierced into his field of vision.

"What a bright light… This doesn't look like fire?!"

A hint of surprise threaded through his deep voice. Curiosity stirred, he changed direction and rushed toward the source of the light.

Whoosh…

It was the sound generated by a fast-moving object cutting through the air.

The black-haired samurai could see perfectly well at night; darkness posed no obstruction to him. His left hand gripped the sheath, and with a step that carried him seven to eight meters at a time, he leapt through the forest—avoiding tree after tree, jagged rocks, and twisted roots with precision—closing in on the source at tremendous speed.

A minute or two later, his breathing remained calm, not the slightest hint of panting. He stood beside a tree, quietly observing the house in the distance.

Through the glass windows, he could faintly make out the interior—refined furniture and two women and one man eating together, plus a black cat squatting on the carpet beside the coffee table.

For such a refined house—one that could be considered luxurious even in a major city—to sit in the middle of a desolate mountain forest… something wasn't right.

"…A Blood Demon Art?"

The black-haired samurai frowned and spoke softly.

Blood Demon Arts came in countless forms. Anything was possible. There were even demons whose abilities allowed them to create houses… So it wasn't impossible.

However… the scent of a demon was different from that of a human.

The wind carried the scent straight into his nose—unmistakably human. No trace of a demon.

Which meant… the three inside were living humans, not demons.

And the house itself was genuine, not a construct of a Blood Demon Art.

So then… why would such a beautiful house be in the middle of nowhere? And with such upscale furnishings?

Maybe some rich person built it out of boredom—or maybe not.

The true reason…

"…is incredibly interesting."

As the saying goes, mastery breeds courage. The black-haired samurai suddenly developed a strong desire to investigate. Left hand gripping the sheath, right hand sliding forward to grasp the hilt, he stepped toward the door—slowly drawing the blade inch by inch.

Shhhh—!

The friction between blade and sheath echoed through the silent night. Inside the house, the black cat's ears twitched. It ran to the door, melted into a puddle of black liquid, and slipped out through the gap beneath the door.

The black-haired samurai halted one meter before the door. He took a deep breath—one that displayed lung capacity enough to surpass most humans. Slowly, he raised the katana, its blade and hilt both covered with staring eyes. One after another, crescent moon blades began to manifest along the edge.

"Breath of the Moon, Third Form: Loathsome Moon, Chipping."

He recited silently. His right leg stepped forward, and he swung twice, sending out two crescent-shaped blade winds. Countless moon blades of varying sizes formed around them.

The blades and winds surged toward the door.

At that moment, a black curtain rose from the ground, blocking their path.

The deadly blade winds failed to tear it apart. The black-haired samurai was startled and tried to leap backward immediately.

But the moment the thought formed, he found his body refusing to obey.

Black liquid had already crept across the ground and reached his feet, climbing up to his calves.

The curtain that blocked the blade winds… was merely a portion of that same liquid.

"I can feel you resisting. Don't waste your strength. You may not be human, but even you can't escape my possession…"

The black liquid reached his left shoulder, forming an abstract face that grinned maliciously as it spoke.

Spiritual Fusion—one of Black Zetsu's signature abilities—able to control the will of whoever it attached to.

"Hehehe…"

Black Zetsu continued its wicked laugh as it manipulated the samurai's body, pulling open the door and walking inside.
