"Are you seriously expecting that we trust rogues?" Asher's voice sounded like thunder through the war chamber.
"I am not asking you to trust them, I am only asking you to give them a chance because they hate Victor just as much as we do." Aiden leaned forward across the map table, his eyes were not changing.
"Rogues don't just join alliances, Aiden. What makes you think they will follow us?" Maya looked at both of them, her fingers held together around the side of the table.
"Because I used to be one of them." Aiden looked at her eyes, quietly.
The room fell into silence. Asher's jaw held together, but he did not interrupt. Maya was just realizing that he was once a rogue before he joined the pack.
"I know what they fear and I know what they want. And if anyone can get to them, it is me. But… they will listen to me more if they see someone who has changed the tide before, someone who is not afraid of them." Aiden continued.
"Are you saying that is me?" Maya blinked.
