Chapter 415 - Chapter 417 – Satan's First Live-Stream Viewer

Fang Yuan caught Lucifer, who was ready to jump straight into the streaming craze. The company's top sales rep deserved special treatment, after all.

"Let's head to Vought Corporation. I'll put you straight into The Seven." Fang Yuan said.

Right now The Seven only had six members; he'd originally planned to bring back the Deep, but with the sales champ here, poor old Fish-Guy would have to wait.

But Lucifer shook his head at once.

"No, no, I only have fun if I do it myself."

Satan didn't just want to be a superstar; he wanted the whole process of becoming one.

"Fine, have it your way."

Respecting the top salesman's wishes, Fang Yuan waved a hand and produced a full influencer kit from Vought Headquarters.

Latest-model phone, selfie stick, and other electronic gear.

Plus a pair of black leather shoes.

"Put these on quick—your athlete's foot is about to blacken the rooftop," Fang Yuan teased.

Lucifer frowned, eyeing the tar-oozing soles of his feet.

"What do you know? Countless demons in Hell would kill to lick my feet clean. This is the essence of the underworld!"

Fang Yuan's eyes lit up.

Essence of the underworld?

That had to be good stuff, right?

He quickly summoned an Iron Man Suit through the Sling Ring and had Athena pilot it, rag in hand, to help Satan put on his shoes.

What? Fang Yuan doing it himself?

Not a chance—he was the boss.

Lucifer lifted a foot in delight, but when the armor tried to slip the shoe on, he wasn't satisfied.

"Black doesn't look good."

With a finger-snap the black leather turned white, and only then did he let the shoe go on.

Sure enough, with Lucifer's all-white suit, white shoes looked far flashier than black.

Fang Yuan promptly recalled the Iron Man Suit.

Along with Satan's foot-wiping rag.

"This thing has research value too; I'll toss a scrap to Bruce later," Fang Yuan thought.

He actually possessed the [Research Template] to analyze it himself, but he really couldn't stand Lucifer's stinky feet.

"Where do you think I should start?" Lucifer closed his eyes for a moment; when they opened again he was already on The Boys World's biggest streaming site, personal account created.

He started the stream, flicking his hair at the camera like a vain middle-aged man.

Fang Yuan was about to speak when Lucifer raised a hand to cut him off.

"Haha, my very first viewer's here!"

Lucifer was delighted someone had such good taste.

"How should I reward this lucky one?"

Suddenly his face changed.

"What did he just type?"

"Show us Dick?"

Lucifer turned to Fang Yuan. "The Dick I'm thinking of?"

Fang Yuan nodded; this was The Boys World, after all, so it figured.

Satan scowled; the viewer had good taste—too good.

"Let's see what you look like."

He muttered and waved; off-camera a screen appeared, revealing a fat, greasy white guy whose one hand was busy beneath the desk.

"Ugh!"

Lucifer dry-heaved, flicked the filthy image away, and booted the man from the stream.

Still not satisfied, he grumbled, "You wanted to see Dick? Fine!"

Using Athena, Fang Yuan quickly located the guy; the camera showed him screaming on the floor—his Dick was gone.

Yup, the man's manhood had vanished, and he writhed in agony.

Fang Yuan shook his head; the poor fool had messed with Satan on his debut broadcast, turning a heaven-sent chance into a living hell.

Satan really could crawl through the internet to beat you up.

Yet Fang Yuan felt a twinge of worry.

What had bothered Lucifer was the viewer's looks and behavior—if it had been someone handsome like Constantine, would he still refuse?

The image of Satan standing behind Constantine popped into Fang Yuan's head; he quickly shook it away.

Was Satan picking a concubine when he asked for Constantine?

No wonder after all these years Satan only had one son, Mammon.

That huge theme park Lucifer promised Constantine—was it QQ-themed?

And "QQ" definitely didn't mean penguins here.

Fang Yuan took two steps away from the sales champ; a boss should always keep a little distance.

Some fear being stabbed; others fear being... well, rear-ended.

Fang Yuan would rather be stabbed.

"Relax, I don't force anyone," Lucifer said, noticing Fang Yuan's unease.

"Let's hope so." Fang Yuan quickly changed the subject.

"I've thought of a fun place." He opened a portal and stepped through; Lucifer followed, selfie stick raised.

Yet the camera never showed Fang Yuan's face—Lucifer clearly wanted to rise on his own merits.

They emerged onto a crowded lawn.

Fang Yuan pointed to a central stage. "That guy's Ezekiel, a holy-man who builds Fans and fortune by preaching the Bible."

"He's a Priest?" Lucifer asked.

Fang Yuan nodded. "Money-grubbing, sleeping around with men and women—yep, that's the Priest all right."

"Does he have a lot of Fans?" Lucifer asked again.

"About ten million," Fang Yuan replied.

Ezekiel was Vought Corporation's banner figure among the faithful; of course his follower count was huge.

Sure enough, Lucifer perked up at the number.

"Preaching the Bible can get you ten million Fans?".

Satan's gaze at Ezekiel turned scorching, as if the man were a priceless treasure.

He was going to steal every one of Ezekiel's followers!

"In the Gospel of Matthew it says we must…"

Ezekiel was holding forth in front of the live-stream camera when Lucifer suddenly leapt onto the stage from nowhere.

"Your grasp of the Bible is pathetically shallow!" Lucifer declared loudly.

The Con-Man Ezekiel looked puzzled; today's script from the company hadn't included this bit.

But on live camera he had to keep his composure.

So Ezekiel asked kindly, "You understand the Bible too?"

"How about we discuss it?" he invited.

If you wanted a fight he wasn't your man, but when it came to bandying verses, Ezekiel feared no one.

It was literally how he earned his living.

Whether this was company-staged or not, Ezekiel decided to use the intruder as a stepping-stone to show off.

"Great!" Satan agreed at once.

A smile spread across his face. "The Bible? I know it inside out."

"What's your name?" Ezekiel never wasted time on nobodies.

Lucifer introduced himself: "Morningstar!"

The two launched into a fierce war of words over Scripture—though "war" overstated it; Ezekiel's usual rhetoric was riddled with holes Lucifer poked effortlessly.

Lucifer's arguments, however, were flawless—or if they weren't, Ezekiel wasn't skilled enough to spot the flaws.

Which was only natural.

Lucifer had first been an Angel, then became Satan; he was a character straight out of the Bible. In all of Heaven, few knew Scripture better.

Poor Ezekiel still had no idea what kind of great theologian he was debating.

The live feed broadcast his pitiful defeat in full; halfway through, Vought staff tried to cut the stream.

Yet no matter what they did, they couldn't pull the plug.

With Satan secretly interfering, success was impossible.

If anyone actually managed to shut it down under Lucifer's nose, Fang Yuan would hire them on the spot.

By now Lucifer's stream finally had more than just perverts watching.

Ezekiel had become a mere relay station for Satan's Fans; in minutes Lucifer's follower count soared past a hundred thousand.

Seeing Lucifer grin from ear to ear, Fang Yuan shrugged and prepared to slip away.

He wasn't in a hurry to return to Vought in The Boys World; right now he was focused on the Big Blue Bald Guy.

"Lucifer, carry on playing—I'll be gone a few days!" Fang Yuan sent the message silently.

Lucifer didn't reply, just waved a hand.

He was having too much fun; twisting God's own words to dupe God's believers felt fantastic.

The pleasure was doubled!

So Fang Yuan left the World and returned to the X-Men World.

Only a few months had passed here since his last departure.

With Augustus Company crushed, the Dark Council members hadn't enjoyed comfort for long before toppling alongside it.

Society had changed drastically; the most obvious shift was that public discourse about the Awakened was now overwhelmingly positive.

Only The Collector Daily had promptly cut ties with the Augustus Group and "miraculously" escaped the ensuing purge, becoming the sole surviving asset of Augustus.

Most Awakened, however, wished The Collector Daily had collapsed with Augustus—permanently.

"How did we let that scourge survive?"

Many Awakened reportedly sighed in regret for sparing the paper.

Awakened couldn't be allowed to grow too comfortable, or they'd forget how hard-won their good life was.

That was the lesson Fang Yuan had learned in practice.

Still, a single outlet like The Collector Daily didn't have much impact.

Most elites hostile to the Awakened had already been swept up in one stroke.

Only scattered oddballs remained, too weak to matter.

"In a few years, once these opponents regrow, I'll just cull them again; then the Awakened's position will be secure," Fang Yuan mused.

"I've really gone all-out for the Awakened; the Mutants ought to kowtow to me a few times!"

Naturally the Mutants couldn't hear him, so Fang Yuan decided to claim the reward himself.

"Having the god of Mutants serve as my dog isn't asking too much, right?"
