Chapter 74: Completion of Training — Leaving the Holy Mountain of Knights

The Three Forms of Brahma.

As the name implied, they were divided into three distinct moves.

The first, the Eye of Brahma, was a skill focused on extreme control and suppression. Its pressure was overwhelming—but among the three, it was the weakest.

The final two moves were named Fleeting Glory and Heaven and Earth Without Limit.

These two were not mere techniques of power. They touched upon causality and the laws of the world themselves. Even when Xiao Huo was alive, he rarely used them, for even he, when facing the strongest Demon Gods, paid a heavy price whenever these divine skills were unleashed.

They were true god-tier techniques.

Especially the last move, Heaven and Earth Without Limit—Xiao Huo had used it fewer than three times in his entire life, and every time, at least one Demon God had perished, sometimes more.

After explaining this, Xiao Huo said gravely, "I will teach you this technique, but only its foundational version. I will not reveal the full strength of the latter two forms. Do not underestimate them—what you will learn is still more than enough to terrify even the gods."

"When you leave here, do not use them unless you face a situation of life and death. The backlash is far too great."

"In most cases, the Eye of Brahma alone will suffice. It costs a large amount of spiritual energy, but causes no harm to the body."

Xiao Huo's tone was serious—though resignation was clear in his eyes.

He had no choice but to teach. It wasn't because Ye Ling had threatened him, but because he had already spoken his word: he would pass on the Three Forms of Brahma, and so he would.

"Understood," Ye Ling replied with a firm nod.

"With your temperament, this promise is enough," Xiao Huo said approvingly. He was clearly satisfied with Ye Ling's composure and character.

Then, he began the instruction.

Ten days passed in the blink of an eye.

During that time, Xiao Huo taught Ye Ling both Fleeting Glory and Heaven and Earth Without Limit.

They sparred countless times, each duel sharpening Ye Ling's instincts and refining his combat skills. To Xiao Huo's surprise, Ye Ling not only possessed extraordinary talent in cultivation but also displayed an exceptional grasp of battle strategy.

Xiao Huo was deeply pleased.

Mindset, strength, combat intuition—Ye Ling excelled in all three.

And he was only thirteen or fourteen years old, already at the fifth tier of power.

At this rate, within two or three decades, he might well reach the ninth tier and become a Holy Knight. Perhaps, he might even become the first to receive recognition from the Thrones of Eternity and Creation themselves.

The thought left Xiao Huo feeling that his ten days of effort had been more than worthwhile.

"Senior, my month here has come to an end. It's time I take my leave," Ye Ling said respectfully.

"I know. You may go," Xiao Huo nodded.

"When you become the Alliance Lord of the Holy Order, you will have the right to return to the Holy Mountain of Knights and meet us again. When that time comes, tell me of your strength—and of the power of our knights," Xiao Huo said solemnly.

"I will," Ye Ling promised.

With that, his figure flickered as he crushed a token. In an instant, a surge of light enveloped him, and he was transported away from the Holy Mountain of Knights.

Xiao Huo did not say more. He merely summoned a gate of light before him and stepped through it.

This portal was connected to the Chamber of Seals.

Soon after, his projection faded, while his fragmented soul returned to his true body.

For the past ten days, the real Xiao Huo had worn a constant smile. Each wave of memory returning from his projection brought him immense delight.

"Old Xiao, your avatar was gone quite some time. What happened out there?" asked Shu Yongxiao, the assassin who had long slumbered nearby, his tone curious.

"Nothing much," Xiao Huo replied with a hearty laugh. "Just met a young knight searching for a mount on the Holy Mountain. Promising talent, remarkable potential. I merely observed him for a while."

"You really don't plan to change this strange habit of yours?"

"In the past, you've scared more than one junior half to death. One nearly drew his sword to strike you. Later, even after becoming the Alliance Lord, he never dared return here. If not for his predecessor urging him, we might have lost contact entirely," Shu Yongxiao said helplessly. Clearly, this wasn't the first time such an incident had occurred.

"This time will be different. Still, I must say—that youngster is truly terrifying," Xiao Huo said with a sigh.

He was already looking forward to it.

Looking forward to the day Ye Ling would return here to find him and report his progress.

Would that be in thirty years?

Or fifty?

Either way, he was filled with anticipation.

With that thought, Xiao Huo gradually sank back into slumber, just as all the eternal heroes did in their undead repose.

Unless disturbed, decades of sleep were normal—centuries, not impossible.

Meanwhile, Ye Ling reappeared within the teleportation array. Resting lazily atop his head was the Silver Dragon King, Gu Yue Na. Throughout the past month, no matter what Ye Ling did, she had remained there—silent, calm, and expressionless.

Her demeanor was indifferent, as if unaware of the danger of the techniques Ye Ling had been practicing—or perhaps it was trust. Or simply the serene idleness of one too powerful to care.

Either way, there was no problem now.

"The progress this month has been tremendous," Ye Ling murmured. "Not only did I break through to the Fifth Tier, but I've also mastered the Three Forms of Brahma. My strength has increased in every possible aspect."

Just then, the mountain guardian elder quietly approached. Upon seeing Ye Ling, he blinked in realization and stepped closer.

"Did you manage to form a bond with a beast companion?" the elder asked. At first glance, he hadn't sensed any other living presence besides Ye Ling.

At this, Ye Ling pointed helplessly to his own head. Was this old man blind?

The elder frowned, puzzled. "Don't tell me you couldn't find a suitable companion and gave up?"

"This little thing... is it supposed to be a dragon? Why does it look so—"

Before he could finish, the Silver Dragon King atop Ye Ling's head opened her eyes, flashing them fiercely. She bared her small fangs at the old man and released a wave of powerful aura.

"A—A Sixth-Rank Magical Beast… equivalent to a Fifth-Tier existence!"

The elder's scalp went numb.

Why was a creature of this level so small—and so deceptively adorable? No wonder he hadn't recognized her!

He didn't dare say another word for fear of further embarrassment.

He had already gathered some reports on Ye Ling but found nothing conclusive. With nothing more to investigate, he allowed Ye Ling to leave freely.

After completing a few formalities, Ye Ling departed the Holy Mountain.

At the great gates, he saw two familiar figures waiting for him.

One was tall and striking, carrying herself with the confidence of a warrior—Li Xin.

The other was younger, with a cold expression and a quiet air that kept others at a distance.

When they saw Ye Ling approaching, both couldn't help but smile.

"Little brother."

"Brother Ye Ling"
