After leaving Fairy Tail, Ur boarded a carriage back to Grandma Isse's home, hauling the massive wild boar with him.
While bumping along in the carriage, Ur recalled what Wakaba had said just earlier, and couldn't help but mutter to himself.
"Laxus, Erza, Mirajane… what a powerhouse team. Who would've thought the Master was gutsy enough to send those three on the same mission? Isn't he afraid they'll just end up demolishing someone else's guild together?"
Thinking about how these three were described in the original work, Ur could almost hear Makarov's future wails of regret echoing in his ears.
Upon returning to Grandma Isse's house, the first problem Ur faced was her nagging.
Naturally, the cause of the lecture was Ur's injuries.
Though neither Ur himself nor anyone in the guild thought much of them, to Grandma Isse's they were a national emergency.
Ur obediently listened to her lecture, not daring to talk back. After over an hour, Ur felt like the wound on his leg had nearly healed just from sitting there before Grandma Isse finally ended her tirade.
With that, Ur returned to his usual indulgent "pig lifestyle" of eating and lazing around.
Just as Wakaba said, this whole business of inter-guild wars was still way out of Ur's league. Satisfying his curiosity was one thing, but getting involved?
That would be a quick and ugly death.
Since moving in with Grandma Isse's, Ur hadn't eaten a single "light" meal. Not once. Not for any of his four daily meals.
But since breakfast was a bit late today, Grandma Isse only made something simple.
That something?
A whole roast boar.
Yes. Ur's breakfast for the day was a full roast of the monster boar he had brought back, the one he nearly died fighting. He'd originally brought it back for food, after all.
Sweating all over and feeling flushed from the heat, Ur devoured the boar.
As he ate, he felt a strange warmth spreading outward from his stomach, surging through his body.
It was a completely unfamiliar sensation.
Unnatural, but… incredibly satisfying.
Detecting something off, Ur immediately pulled up his status panel.
Invincible Passive System
Host: Wei Yi (Ur)
Passive Abilities: Void Hunger, Lava Body, Evil Equilibrium
Health: 16
Magic Power: 16
Mental Strength: 19
Magic Resistance: 0%
Armor: 1%
"Just as I thought…" Ur muttered as he looked at the panel.
Compared to the previous day, most of his stats hadn't changed much.
But his HP had increased by two full points.
And the reason?
It was none other than the "monster" meat he had just eaten.
The passive Void Hunger allowed Ur to absorb the life essence of creatures he consumed and convert it into Health. And the stronger the creature, the more essence it had.
Compared to normal beasts, the "monster" boar held a far greater concentration of life energy.
No matter how much fine meat he'd eaten these past weeks, it couldn't compare to this single creature.
And the food in Ur's stomach hadn't even finished digesting yet.
Once it did, his HP would probably rise again.
"What a terrifying ability…"
Ur couldn't help but marvel. Once again, he felt the sheer broken power of having a cheat system.
Most mages in this world didn't bother training their bodies specifically, but even so, due to constant magical tempering, their physiques were well beyond normal humans. Maybe not in brute strength or speed, but in terms of endurance? Absolutely.
And those results came only after years of magical training.
But Ur?
He had reached, and even exceeded, the baseline of most low-class mages in under a month.
How could he not feel smug?
By the time his body finished digesting the rest of the monster meat, his HP rose again, now reaching 17 points.
At that level, Ur's physical stats were roughly double those of an average adult.
Even among mages, this kind of constitution was impressive.
Though since Ur was still visibly thin, no one could tell just by looking at him.
After finishing breakfast, Ur once again took a carriage back to the guild.
Having experienced a near-death mission, Ur was now keenly aware of just how many weaknesses he still had. So, he was determined to work on those weaknesses immediately.
He headed straight for the library.
The library was busier than usual today. Besides the usual bookworm Levy, several other familiar faces were present.
Most notable were the two petite, white-haired girls. It was none other than the Strauss sisters, Mirajane and Lisanna.
And the bulky, suit-wearing, bowtie-clad boy reading intently nearby? That was their older brother, Elfman Strauss.
Unlike the future, ultra-macho version of himself, this Elfman was still a reserved, scholarly "gentle giant."
Among the four in the library, three were quietly focused on reading.
As for Mirajane, still in her rebellious phase, she was dangling her legs from a desk, watching her siblings read while looking every bit the delinquent she currently was.
Sigh… Future Mirajane is so much cuter…
Every time Ur saw this version of her, he couldn't help but sigh.
Such a proper lady… How did she turn into this…?
Wait…
Something's off with that line of thought!
"Hey~ Ur, you're here! What kind of book are you looking for today?" Levy was the first to notice him.
Thanks to his frequent visits, he and Levy were now on pretty familiar terms. At the very least, she no longer whispered shyly when talking to him.
The moment she spoke, the eyes of the Strauss siblings also turned toward Ur.
Especially Mirajane. The instant she heard Levy say "Ur," her gaze whipped around sharply.
