An Unexpected Summoning!
After being promoted to star level, the Star-Eating Vine needed a huge amount of metal to advance further. Fortunately, upgrading from the first star level to the ninth didn't require special alloys—ordinary metal ore would suffice.
This made the process much easier.
Above the central Pacific Ocean, Xu Mo walked out of the space gate, glancing at the endless ocean below. If one were to find the richest metal deposits on Earth, it would undoubtedly be the ocean. Almost all mineral resources on land had been discovered and were being mined, but most oceanic minerals remained untouched due to the difficulty of extraction.
Thinking this through, Xu Mo waved his hand. The Star-Eating Vine emerged from his body, transformed into a stream of light, and sank into the ocean.
Xu Mo's perception showed the 108 vines rapidly expanding. Within moments, each stretched thousands of kilometers, found its proper positions, and penetrated the seabed. The Star-Eating Vine could sense metal locations on its own.
Watching it absorb metal ore to increase its strength, Xu Mo exhaled in relief and turned away. The process was slow with ordinary metals compared to special alloys, and the quantity required was massive. Even absorbing all the minerals in the ocean might not bring it to the fifth star level. Reaching the ninth level could require metals from the entire planet.
Of course, Xu Mo would not allow the Star-Eating Vine to consume all the Earth's metals. Doing so could destroy the planet. Instead, he let it absorb the ocean's resources, knowing plenty of other planets were available for further upgrades.
With the Star-Eating Vine in place, Xu Mo returned to the island.
A month had passed. Silent Hill in the weird world had been completed long ago. Before leaving, Xu Mo instructed that business would officially begin after his return. This was a supernatural event—its operation would attract attention from official departments. Julie and Alyssa alone couldn't handle it.
It was worth Xu Mo's personal attention, as it ensured a stable source of points in the future. Thinking this, he activated the dream walking technique.
In front of the huge Tree of Time, just as he prepared to enter the strange world, the dark divine book between his eyebrows stirred. Xu Mo paused, sensing a call from a certain world.
Following the call, he moved toward a branch of the Time Tree. This tree was like a ray of light stretching forward, with countless branches splitting off every moment. Each branch represented a parallel world.
Xu Mo soon arrived at a world branch, feeling a faint pull emanating from it. Without hesitation, he entered this parallel world.
After a moment, his soul body appeared above a town. No equivalent of Xu Mo existed here, so only by entering could he manifest in this form.
Surveying the town, Xu Mo noted its large area and, from the architectural style and dilapidated walls, estimated the era: early eighteenth century.
No wonder there were no equivalents of himself—he hadn't been born yet.
He didn't rush to find a body. For now, he followed the call.
In the town, inside a vast castle, two girls held a torn page from an ancient book, reciting the spell on it.
Ariella, with blonde hair, glanced at her twin, disappointment on her face.
"Marika, this doesn't seem to be doing anything!"
Marika, red-haired, paused. "So what do we do? Are we really going to become the brides of that disgusting vampire?"
Ariella smiled bitterly. "Disgusting vampire?"
"You've forgotten—we're both cursed now, vampires ourselves!" She showed her fangs.
Marika's expression darkened further.
Outside the window, Xu Mo's soul body listened, deep in thought.
"Another vampire?" he mused. Did he hold a grudge against vampires from a previous life? How could they be so easy to fight?
Using his mental power, Xu Mo sensed the torn pages the girls held and pieced together the story.
It seemed they had been spotted by a vampire who cursed them and intended to make them his brides. Naturally, they resisted. In desperation, they found a spell to summon a devil for help.
The summoned entity was Xithorn, the god of the underworld. Such summoning spells were common, spread across worlds, allowing humans to trade their souls for assistance.
However, something had gone wrong. Xithorn was now under Xu Mo's control through the Dark Book, transformed into an energy source. He was too busy absorbing and transforming energy to care about the girls' calls—but the Dark Divine Book had intercepted them, attracting Xu Mo's attention.
Xu Mo had no objections. It was convenient—he could earn points and gain two loyal subordinates.
At that moment, a strong dark energy enveloped Xu Mo, and he flashed into the boudoir of the two girls.
