{AURORA'S POV}
For a moment, I couldn't move.
My hands were shaking. My lungs burned as if I'd been holding my breath for too long. Vivienne's body was warm and alive, beneath my hands and that simple realization hit me harder than anything else.
She's alive.
I saved her.
The thought didn't feel real. My heart hammered in my chest as I stared at my own trembling fingers, faint sparks of gold still shimmering across my skin.
Then I heard her voice—soft, and trembling. "You saved me."
I looked up. Vivienne's wide blue eyes glistened with tears. She blinked rapidly, and a shaky smile spread across her lips before she pulled me into her arms.
"You saved my life," she whispered against my shoulder. "Thank you, Aurora. Thank you."
