The moment I stepped into KnightCorp's boardroom, I felt the tension before anyone spoke. It hung thick… like static before a storm.
Executives filled the long glass table, murmuring over quarterly reports that suddenly didn't seem to matter. Every whisper stopped when Jasmine walked in.
She was calm. Too calm.
Black suit. Hair pulled back. That same expression she wore when she was about to ruin someone's argument… or their life.
For a second, my pulse jumped. I wasn't ready to see her here again, not after everything that happened yesterday. Not after Nathan told me what Leonard found… the footage, the betrayals, the name Vale.
BNow she was here, sitting right across from me like she owned the air I was breathing.
"Let's begin." I said tightly, trying to steady my voice.
The screens lit up with projections… numbers, growth, projections. I barely saw them. My focus was on Jasmine.
