Chapter 237 - Sky Manipulation

Uro did not know what Kenjaku's true goal was, yet she still chose without hesitation to reincarnate into this era over a thousand years later. It was because her previous life carried too many regrets.

This "second life" granted through reincarnation was her chance to change things and live completely differently from before.

And now, the first obstacle standing before Uro was the Culling Game.

Regardless of what kind of scheme Kenjaku was plotting behind the scenes, she needed enough points to at least add one rule. Only then could she secure her own safety.

"No matter what, since you entered the Culling Game, you should've already prepared yourself to become someone else's points."

As Uro slowly stepped forward, she casually reached out and grabbed the air beside her. Shockingly, space itself twisted like fabric being pulled by her fingers.

Sky Manipulation.

That was her cursed technique.

She could grab the surface of space itself and reshape it according to her movements. And if no outside force interfered, she could even maintain the altered shape after releasing it, as long as she continued supplying cursed energy.

The strange visual effect around the important parts of her body came from exactly that. She had wrapped distorted space over herself like clothing.

"Wait! Even if this is a second life, you shouldn't make up for your old regrets by killing people now! A lot of the sorcerers you killed were innocent!"

Yuji frowned deeply but still tried persuading her with words.

"Think about your family, your lover, your friends from back then. None of them would want to see you turn into a murderer hundreds or even thousands of years later."

'This feeling...'

Uro froze slightly.

His words felt like a tiny fly buzzing endlessly inside her head. It was a feeling she rarely experienced, like a tiny insignificant ant repeatedly stepping across the red line of her patience and provoking her over and over.

Veins bulged across Uro's beautiful face, and even within her almost black eyes, blood vessels could clearly be seen spreading toward her pupils from rage.

Yuji's final words had crossed the line.

"Even after a thousand years, annoying people like you still exist, huh, Fujiwara?!"

Uro's voice carried overwhelming hatred.

She came from the era a thousand years ago, the flourishing golden age of jujutsu.

Back then, Uro belonged to the Sun, Moon, and Stars Squad, a direct assassination unit serving the Fujiwara Clan, descendants of Michizane Sugawara. And she herself had been the captain.

It was an organization that lived by the principle of "die privately, serve publicly." Its members existed only in the shadows. They had no names. Even their lives did not belong to them.

Yet Takako Uro was an exception.

Within the entire Sun, Moon, and Stars Squad, she alone had been given a name by the Fujiwara Clan, something none of the others possessed.

A name that once gave her a strange sense of purpose and made her believe her life finally held meaning.

But later, she discovered the truth.

The reason they gave her a name was only so they could one day pin the crime of slaughtering their own clan members onto her. From the very beginning, her name existed solely to become a scapegoat.

So after gaining a second life, Uro secretly swore to herself that she would live only for her own sake.

Family, friends, innocent people, sacrificing herself for others… she would abandon all of it.

She would rise to the top and make this new name of hers echo beneath the entire sky.

"Fujiwara? Who's that supposed to be?"

Yuji pointed at his own face with a confused expression, seemingly not noticing how wrong Uro's mood had become.

"Shut up, idiot!"

Uro suddenly exerted force.

The space she had been gripping twisted violently and surged toward Yuji like massive crashing waves.

"What is this?!"

Watching the space in front of him become increasingly distorted, Yuji quickly moved to dodge.

BOOM!

The ground collapsed.

Even though Uro's attack never physically touched him, the terrifying pressure generated by the distorted space itself created an overwhelming sense of oppression.

'She's... insanely strong!'

After only one exchange, that thought already surfaced in Yuji's mind.

Whether in cursed energy amount or overall strength, she far surpassed nearly every enemy he encountered during the Shibuya Incident.

If her strength were measured using cursed spirit rankings, she would absolutely qualify as special grade, and among special grades, she would be near the very top.

So right now, worrying about whether he should kill someone was meaningless. The real question was whether he could even defeat her at all.

Yuji shifted his footing while dodging Uro's attacks, gathering cursed energy into his fists.

"Divergent Fist!"

Since he had not yet developed his own cursed technique, his fighting style remained the simplest possible: punching.

"Hah..."

But in the next instant, before Yuji's fist could even touch her, Uro casually pulled at the empty air in the direction of his attack.

His arm twisted unnaturally once again.

There was no pain whatsoever, but his attack was completely redirected.

BOOM!

And immediately afterward came Uro's heavy punch.

As a sorcerer capable of manipulating the sky itself, her hand-to-hand combat abilities were naturally exceptional, and the punch slammed directly into Yuji's face.

Blood immediately burst from his nose and mouth as he was blasted backward, crashing through multiple walls before collapsing beneath the rubble.

"A guy who only knows how to preach. Talking about living for others... In the end, that's just the kind of thinking only trash living above everyone else can afford to have."

Looking toward the Yuji she had punched away, Uro revealed a mocking expression.

She did not know who he was, but no matter what kind of sorcerer he might be, people like him were considered those in power compared to the old her.

This feeling was wonderful.

No longer restrained by the Fujiwara Clan.

Living only for herself.

No one could stop her from rising to prominence.

"I live to save people."

Within the ruins, Yuji pushed away the broken debris covering his body. Blood trickled down from his forehead, but he casually wiped it away.

Everyone had risked their lives to save him. He was not going to die here. He still wanted to save many more people.

"You seriously know how to piss people off!"

Seeing him still stubbornly talking like this even now, Uro clenched her fists so tightly they creaked.

The two charged at each other once again.

Meanwhile, within Yuji's mental world, Sukuna frowned deeply, seemingly contemplating something extremely important.
