The battle between Yuji and Uro continued tearing apart the surrounding buildings while more and more injuries accumulated across Yuji's body.
After another loud explosion, he was blasted away again, crashing through several streetlights before collapsing heavily onto the ground.
No matter whether it was offense or defense, Uro's technique was an unbelievably troublesome ability. His attacks kept getting redirected by her manipulation of space, rendering them useless.
And after taking several direct punches head-on, Yuji felt his head buzzing nonstop.
If he could not hit the opponent, then no matter how powerful his physical strength or techniques were, none of it mattered.
To a certain extent, Uro's ability to distort space resembled Satoru's Infinity. Yet Yuji himself had not reached the highest peak of jujutsu, Domain Expansion.
Without a guaranteed-hit effect, how was he supposed to defeat an opponent with an almost "untouchable" defense?
"What's wrong? Weren't you talking big a moment ago?"
Watching Yuji struggle, Uro slowly walked forward with graceful steps while satisfaction naturally rose within her heart.
This was exactly what she wanted.
To crush all these people who constantly stood above others preaching morality and justice. To turn this world into her stage.
"I won't let you keep doing whatever you want."
Yuji took a deep breath and wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth before standing again.
'Think carefully. Her technique can't possibly compare to Gojo-sensei's Infinity...'
He had started figuring it out.
Every time his attacks got redirected, she needed to actively move herself to do it. In other words, her "untouchability" lacked the automatic defense of Infinity.
As long as he used that weakness properly, there was a chance he could hit her.
Yuji's eyes shifted slightly as he quietly observed the surroundings. After confirming his plan, determination appeared on his face once again.
"No matter how many times we do this, it'll end the same. You're just a low-level sorcerer without even a cursed technique."
Since Yuji had remained on the defensive the entire fight without using any technique, Uro naturally assumed he was merely someone with impressive physical abilities and decent cursed energy output.
But those things were the least effective against her.
"Then watch carefully. What I'm about to do next is something you absolutely can't stop."
Yet Yuji suddenly revealed a confident grin.
This time, he did not need Megumi's help.
He came up with this himself!
"What?!"
Seeing how serious he looked, Uro immediately abandoned her earlier contempt. Her right hand grabbed at empty space, ready at any moment to redirect his attack.
The two stood facing each other roughly a dozen meters apart.
Yuji lowered his stance slightly while holding both hands beside his body, as though preparing some terrifying attack. Meanwhile, Uro had already prepared herself to defend and counterattack.
"Haaa..."
After exhaling deeply, the ground beneath Yuji's feet cracked apart from the explosive force generated the instant he moved.
"Run away!"
In the next moment, he charged forward.
However, the direction of his charge was not toward Uro at all. Instead, he abruptly changed course and sprinted straight into a nearby alleyway.
Back in middle school, Yuji earned the nickname "Tiger of West Junior High." Even before becoming a sorcerer, he already possessed physical abilities far beyond ordinary humans.
Now, after simply reinforcing his legs with cursed energy, he moved so fast that afterimages appeared behind him.
'Will she chase me...?'
Even while running, Yuji still glanced back to monitor Uro's movements. If she did not fall for it and chase after him, his plan would fail.
"Huh? He ran away..."
Only after Yuji's figure nearly disappeared from sight did Uro finally snap back to reality.
When he said she could not stop him… it was because he never intended to fight her at all?!
"You brat!"
The frustration Uro had carried ever since a thousand years ago toward people who constantly preached morality now mixed together with the humiliation of being tricked.
Her anger had reached its limit.
Instead of immediately chasing after him, she pulled back her fist and gathered power.
"Thin Ice Breaker!"
Uro suddenly punched toward Yuji's retreating figure.
At that instant, her cursed technique activated. The surface struck by her fist vibrated together with the surrounding space itself.
The air shattered like thin ice smashed apart with tremendous force.
Cursed energy wrapped within the atmosphere transformed into a violent spiral blast that shot toward Yuji at incredible speed.
This punch resembled Nanami's attacks that could crack space itself within enclosed areas. However, this was an extension of Uro's own cursed technique, meaning it carried no such limitations.
"What is that?!"
The unexpected attack sent chills through Yuji's body.
He forcefully twisted his footing and barely managed to dodge at the last second.
Thin Ice Breaker grazed past his waist, creating violent winds that shredded most of his shirt apart instantly.
BOOM!
The attack missed him but slammed directly into nearby buildings instead.
Several structures collapsed under the impact.
"That was close..."
Yuji's left side had already turned bright red. Even just brushing against the attack felt like countless metal files scraping across his skin.
Still, he did not stop moving for even a moment.
He immediately dashed deeper into the densely packed streets again.
Since Uro could fly and redirect his attacks in open areas, the only way to defeat her was to avoid fighting in wide spaces.
He needed to create a situation where his attacks could actually connect.
Only then would he stand a chance.
Still not enough...
Behind him, Uro had already begun rapidly pursuing after failing to stop him with Thin Ice Breaker.
She disdained slaughtering civilians for points, but because of Kashimo's existence, this colony was already approaching saturation. Under those conditions, there was no way she would let a wounded sorcerer escape.
Especially not one who said nothing but things she hated hearing.
She was absolutely going to tear his head off!
Uro continuously manipulated the air with both hands. Buildings on both sides twisted together with distorted space itself, making Yuji's position increasingly clear.
'She's coming!'
But just as the distance between them finally closed, Yuji suddenly spun around and forcefully stopped himself by digging his feet into the ground.
At the same time, using the momentum from his sprint, he ripped a nearby streetlight straight out of the ground and hurled it toward Uro, who was now less than twenty meters away.
"Useless!"
Out of habit, Uro casually pulled at space.
The streetlight instantly twisted several meters before reaching her, and its direction changed completely.
BOOM!
But in that exact split second, Yuji's speed suddenly exploded.
He appeared directly before her.
Divergent Step.
A new technique Yuji developed based on Divergent Fist.
Like its predecessor, it used the timing difference between physical movement and cursed energy output to create a second burst of force that stacked together.
All that desperate running earlier had already made Uro subconsciously believe she understood his maximum speed. And since she had never personally experienced Divergent Fist herself, there was no way she could anticipate him accelerating again like this.
At that moment, dense cursed energy wrapped around Yuji's right fist as it smashed toward Uro's stomach before she could react.
Space itself seemed to distort.
Black and crimson cursed energy erupted like lightning.
"Black Flash!"
