Chapter 273: Insect Plate Fragment
A buzzing sound reached Ryan's ears as a massive swarm of Combee, their eyes bloodshot, glared fiercely at Ryan and his group. If Vespiquen gave the order, they could probably tear Ryan and his companions to shreds.
For some reason, Ryan thought of the Zubat swarm incident. Back then, he and Lillie could only huddle in their tent, trembling with fear. Even with Mewtwo by their side, they could only passively defend themselves, harboring no will to resist. They only hoped the Zubat and Golbat would leave quickly and not harm them.
But now, facing a swarm of Combee many times larger than before, Ryan remained calm, observing the enraged Combee around him without a trace of fear. On the contrary, Ryan felt a mixture of nostalgia and amusement, as if a hungry tiger was being surrounded by sheep, his confidence quite evident.
Vespiquen noticed that Ryan's demeanor was completely different from the humans she had encountered before.

Moreover, the small Pokémon and the singing Pokémon beside him emanated a deep-seated fear from Vespiquen, a fear that only manifested when facing beings she couldn't fight back against. Because of this, Vespiquen hesitated. She couldn't know how many of her colony would survive if she attacked these people.
"Oh, very perceptive, able to sense our strength. Don't be afraid, we have no intention of harming you. We're just looking for an item and want to take some honey from you. Of course, we're not robbers; we'll leave you an equal amount of food. You won't suffer any loss."
Ryan's calm words echoed in the empty space, suppressing the buzzing of the Combee. Vespiquen sensed something, called out to Ryan a few times, and then waved her hand, dispersing the Combee. Although the Combee were worried about their queen's safety, obeying her commands was in their nature. Reluctantly, they retreated, clearing the amber passage leading to the aerial structure.
Vespiquen gracefully gestured for Ryan and his group to enter. Victini, seeing this, rushed towards the structure with a hungry look. Lillie took Ryan's right arm, and the two, under the watchful eyes of the many Combee, were led into the amber structure by Vespiquen.
The amber structure was entirely orange-yellow, and inside, golden honey flowed slowly between rows of terraced formations. Victini excitedly dipped its little hand into the honey; the thick, sticky honey instantly coated its hand. Satisfied, it put its honey-covered hand into its mouth.
A happy cry rang out, and Victini waved its little hands, dancing with excitement. Meloetta, curious, flew over, dipped her hand in the honey, and looked at the thick, amber-colored honey on her hand. She opened her small mouth and put the honey in.
"So sweet! It tastes really good!" Meloetta cupped her blushing cheeks with her other hand, beaming with happiness as she spoke to Ryan and Lillie.
Without needing much explanation from Meloetta, Victini had already plunged its entire head into the honey, gulping it down. It then lifted its head with a satisfied expression, floated in the air, and patted its swollen belly. Victini couldn't help but feel that it was wonderful to have left its sealed home!
Ryan and Lillie came to the pool full of honey, dipped their hands in the honey, and tasted it. The sweet taste permeated their bodies; the sweetness was intense, but surprisingly not cloying. Even drinking large amounts of honey like Victini was no problem.
"It's so delicious!" Lillie happily cupped her cheeks, her face flushed, making Ryan want to kiss her.
"It is very good, but I've tasted even better honey. Although this honey is of good quality, it's still a little lacking. My Beedrill was lured and captured using that jar of honey."
Ryan took a taste of the honey and compared it to the jar given to him by the system. There was a difference; the system's products were always top-notch, no question.
"Really? When can I try some?" Lillie asked, her eyes sparkling. She looked like a pleading kitten, tugging at Ryan's clothes.
Seeing Lillie's adorable expression, Ryan spent a considerable amount of points in the system shop to buy two jars of honey. He gave one to Lillie and the other directly to Vespiquen. After all, taking someone's honey should at least be rewarded.
Lillie opened the jar, and a sweet aroma instantly filled the air, attracting all the Combee and Vespiquen. Looking at the swarm, Lillie instinctively covered the jar. Only then did she realize the power of this honey. She dipped a little into the honey and put it in her mouth. An unprecedentedly sweet taste instantly filled her senses, and Lillie couldn't help but let out a small sound before immediately covering her mouth.
Victini stared longingly at the honey jar in Lillie's hand, then looked at its own bulging belly. Victini instantly turned dejected and squatted in the corner, sulking.
Lillie solemnly put the honey jar away; this honey was too amazing and had to be saved!
Vespiquen, seeing the honey jar in her possession, also immediately stored it away; she knew its value.
Meanwhile, Ryan found two jars, filled them with honey, and put them in his backpack. He'd take them back for everyone to try; they'd probably be very popular. Except for Charizard, Sylveon, and Beedrill.
He took out his tablet from his backpack, checked their current location, and found they were on a glowing point. Looking up at the roof of the structure, there were no Plate fragments; looking down, there were no Plate fragments either.
Slightly puzzled, Ryan scratched his head and waved for Vespiquen to come over. He then pulled up a picture of the Plate fragments on his tablet and asked, "Have you seen these Plate fragments before?"
Vespiquen nodded, pointed to the ground, and then summoned several Combee. The Combee, upon receiving the order, flew outside. After a while, the Combee returned carrying a Plate fragment to Ryan.
Ryan took the fragment and examined it; it was indeed a fragment of the Insect Plate!
