Chapter 274 - Chapter 274: Rotom's Prank

Chapter 274: Rotom's Prank

Having obtained the Insect Plate, Ryan and Lillie left a large amount of Pokémon food for the Combee swarm before leaving the cave and returning to Eterna Forest.

However, it was getting dark, and Ryan thought for a moment before saying, "Let's spend the night at the location of the second Plate fragment. It's an abandoned house there; it's better than sleeping in a tent."

With that, Ryan sent out Lugia. Lugia nuzzled against Ryan and Lillie, then crouched down, letting them sit on its back.

Over the years, Lugia had gradually caught up to its mother's size. Although not yet as large as its mother, it was already over three meters tall, and carrying Ryan and Lillie was no problem at all.

Ryan took Lillie's hand, and his Psychic surged from his mind, lifting Ryan and Lillie and floating them onto Lugia's back. After settling onto Lugia's back, Lugia flapped its wings violently, creating a powerful gust of wind that nearly uprooted nearby trees and even shifted the water level of a nearby waterfall.

Using this forceful recoil, Lugia shot straight into the sky. Following Ryan's instruction, it flapped its wings again, unleashing a sonic boom as Lugia shot out like a white arrow. Ryan waved his hand, creating a shield in front of him with his Psychic, blocking the oncoming gust of wind.

"Looks like it's best to let Lugia out more often. It's been cooped up in its Poké Ball for too long; it's getting restless."

A helpless voice reached Lillie's ears. Lillie, seeing Ryan's somewhat exasperated expression, covered her mouth and chuckled. Although Lugia was growing bigger, its nature remained that of a playful young Pokémon. She wondered when it would mature.

As Lugia accelerated rapidly, they quickly arrived at the dilapidated house where the second Plate was located. Lugia flapped its wings and landed smoothly on the ground. Ryan jumped off Lugia's back with Lillie. Lugia rubbed against Ryan reluctantly, but still obediently entered its Poké Ball.

Inside the dilapidated house, an extremely small Pokémon looked out of the window at Ryan and Lillie as they arrived. Seeing their arrival, the Pokémon smiled mischievously, then flashed into the house as a bolt of electricity, seemingly intending to give Ryan and Lillie a "surprise."

Ryan and Lillie arrived at the house. Looking at the dilapidated abandoned building, Lillie said, "It looks like there's a Ghost-type Pokémon inside. This kind of environment is something Ghost-type Pokémon like."

As she spoke, Lillie pushed towards the door. But before Lillie could even push the door open, it creaked open slowly. Ryan and Lillie exchanged a glance, then sighed helplessly, "Same old tricks, can't you come up with something new?!"

The Pokémon that had blended into the house was also somewhat annoyed: these two didn't seem like ordinary people; they hadn't been scared at all. "No way, I'll show them! I'll give them a good scare!"

Ryan and Lillie entered the house, and the door slammed shut behind them. They glanced at it, too unbothered to even complain. Let the ghost Pokémon amuse itself; as long as it didn't go too far, they didn't intend to bother with it. They checked the tablet and then headed towards the Plate fragments.

Passing the window, the curtains began to flutter, and gusts of cold wind blew towards them. Ignoring these gusts, Ryan and Lillie looked at the downward and upward staircases, unsure which way to go. Just then, a creaking sound broke the silence of the space. A table blocked the entire stairwell entrance, sealing off the way up the stairs.

Ryan and Lillie shrugged and walked downstairs. Finally satisfied, the Pokémon immediately dragged a table to block their escape route. The Pokémon was overjoyed: "Hahaha, now your paths forward and backward are blocked. Feeling despair? Humans!"

The next second, a huge fireball with V-create slammed heavily onto the table blocking the stairs. The impact sent the table flying, and the entire hall was engulfed in flames. The raging fire seemed unstoppable, threatening to burn the entire building down!

"Victini, don't go too far. We still need to stay here tonight. If you burn it all down, where will we live?"

A calm voice rang out. Victini flew out, looked at the burning house, scratched its head, and then clenched its fists. The flames gradually diminished until they were completely extinguished. Although it hadn't mastered the essence of fire, Victini had managed to control its attacks to a reasonable degree over its long history. Ryan and Lillie climbed the stairs. Seeing the house, which had been burned once, was at least not completely destroyed, so they didn't bother with anything else.

They searched the lower floors but found no trace of the Plate fragments, so they decided to search upstairs. Using his Psychic to move the table, Ryan and Lillie began their search.

The Pokémon hidden in the house, drenched in sweat, watched Victini. Seeing Ryan move the table with his Psychic, it understood his meaning: don't go too far, or you'll have to face the consequences.

Indeed, although Ryan was capable of moving the table himself, he didn't do so initially. Instead, he had Victini fire V-create. Ryan used this attack to warn the lurking Pokémon: pranks are fine, but don't go too far, or he'd eliminate it without hesitation.

Thinking of this, the Pokémon weakly detached itself from the house, its entire body turning ashen, and listlessly sulked in the corner.

Ryan and Lillie found a fragment of a dark Plate in the second-floor room—the very fragment of the Dread Plate. Satisfied, Ryan and Lillie went downstairs and saw the now dejected Pokémon. Lillie glanced at it and laughed, "So it's just a Rotom. But to be able to control the entire house with just one Pokémon, it seems quite powerful."

"What? Want to catch it?" Ryan asked.

"No need, I don't need it for now," Lillie said.

These words dealt another blow to Rotom. Rotom hugged itself tightly; only in this way could it feel a little comfort.
