Chapter 277: The Ruins of Solaceon Town
Ryan and Lillie had already realized that although Rotom had left the abandoned house with them, it still had a strong attachment to Gardenia. If it had to choose whose Pokémon to be, Rotom would most likely choose Gardenia rather than Ryan or Lillie.
Gardenia looked at Ryan and Lillie nodding, a surprised expression on her face. She really hadn't expected Ryan and Lillie to let go so easily, allowing Rotom to follow her. Still somewhat unable to accept it, Gardenia wore a rather adorable, bewildered expression.
"You read that right, we agree. This guy is more inclined towards you; we could tell from the beginning. Otherwise, we wouldn't have used a tablet to contain it, but instead caught it directly in a Poké Ball. This Rotom is quite strong; judging from its ability to enter the house and control such a large space, its strength can definitely help you. But honestly, compared to my Pokémon, it really can't join my main team. Entrusting it to you, Gardenia, is probably the best way."
Ryan's voice reached Gardenia's ears calmly, allowing her to recover from her astonishment. Glancing at Rotom, who seemed devastated by Ryan's words, Gardenia smiled and said, "No, I think Rotom has great potential. I will train it well and try to make it catch up with your Pokémon!"
With a slight smile, Ryan said, "That's still quite difficult, but good luck, Gardenia, Rotom!"
Rotom regained its energy, circled Ryan and Lillie a few times, and was then easily caught by Gardenia and put into a Poké Ball. Seeing Rotom successfully captured, Ryan and Lillie felt satisfied. After bidding farewell to Gardenia, they set off for their next destination—Solaceon Town—and the next Plate fragment.
A little over a month later, Ryan and Lillie arrived at the Solaceon Ruins.
"...Okay, I understand. Once things are settled here, Lillie and I will go to the Kalos region. We're still in Sinnoh, and Lillie probably can't handle White Kyurem going there, so we'll have to fly there. Take care of it; I'll need its power later."
After hanging up the holographic communicator, the light in the cave dimmed slightly. Victini looked at Ryan curiously, raising its small hand to hold the glowing orb higher, thus expanding the illuminated area. Seeing Ryan's excited expression, Lillie asked, "What's wrong? You look so excited, did you find them?"
Shaking his head, Ryan took out a white and green polyhedron from his backpack, examined it in the light, and said, "I found Zygarde's Core! These little guys are so hard to find. Even if you find them, you only find ordinary Cells. Cores are so rare. This time, having found the Core, I'm determined to capture it!"
Moreover, to capture Zygarde, Ryan spent a lot of points to buy this Zygarde Cube from the store, and it was even in a shiny state. He was just waiting to capture Zygarde's Core and then integrate the Zygarde Cells into its body. When the Core transformed into Zygarde, it would become a shiny Zygarde.
However, before that, let's find the Plate fragment in the Solaceon Ruins. Ryan put the Zygarde Cube back into his backpack, and using the light from Victini's glow, looked at the three intersecting paths ahead. He shook his head helplessly and said, "I guess I give up on this maze. I'll leave it to Togekiss."
Lillie covered her mouth and chuckled, then released her Togekiss. Ryan and Lillie had actually been in the Solaceon Ruins for over a day, but Ryan wanted to see if he and Lillie could find the Plate fragment hidden in the ruins without relying on anything else.
The result was obvious: Ryan and Lillie had been wandering around the ruins for a whole day, but still hadn't found the right route. Having given up hope, Ryan pinned his hopes on Togekiss, hoping it could lead him and Lillie to the Plate fragment quickly.
Togekiss made a grand entrance; its broad, triangular wings allowed it to fly effortlessly through the air. After frolicking around a few times, Togekiss mischievously landed on Ryan's shoulder, the surging air instantly turning his hair into a mess. Togekiss grinned smugly at Ryan.
"Alright, stop fooling around, Togekiss. Lead us to the Plate fragment. You'll lead the way from here on out," Lillie said, patting Togekiss. Togekiss affectionately rubbed against Lillie's hand, then flapped its wings and flew towards a crossroads.
Ryan's neatly styled hair was once again disheveled by the gust of wind. He said helplessly to Lillie, "Honestly, you've spoiled it rotten."
Lillie smiled and straightened Ryan's clothes and hair, saying, "It's not like you don't spoil them. When it comes to being good to Pokémon, I really can't compare to you. It's just that I follow a free-range approach, while you're stricter. But it's all for the good of the Pokémon, isn't it?"
Looking at Lillie's face, Ryan was about to say something when Victini called out to him and Lillie, indicating that Togekiss had found the right path and that they should hurry over.
Somewhat amused, Ryan, with Lillie, caught up with Togekiss and Victini. Victini, holding a glowing orb with V-create, rode Togekiss, conserving its energy. However, Togekiss wasn't at a loss; with Victini on its back, a continuous flow of energy flowed from Victini into its body, making flight effortless.
Guided by Togekiss, Ryan and Lillie navigated through countless intersections and winding paths, finally reaching the deepest part of the ruins. Here, they discovered a fragment of a Psychic Plate embedded in the rock wall.
Ryan removed the fragment and examined it, confirming it was indeed a Psychic Plate fragment. After placing it in their backpacks, the two quickly left the Solaceon Ruins, as there was an important matter awaiting them in the Kalos region.
Leaving the Solaceon Ruins, Ryan and Lillie traveled to the nearest city on Lugia and boarded a plane to the Kalos region. Various things would happen there; we'll tell you about them later!
