"Again! I won't give up so easily!"
Moen gritted his teeth. No matter how hard it was, he had to learn!
The "Cosmo" was something he had been trying to comprehend and awaken ever since acquiring the Saint Seiya System, but he had never made any real progress. No one was guiding him systematically in learning or training, so this was far from something easy to figure out.
Moen had even wondered whether he might not have a Cosmo at all. After all, his body was clearly native to this world.
But the Saint Seiya System had dispelled his doubts, clearly confirming that he did have a "Cosmo."
Over the years, Moen had been working hard, yet the Cosmo remained elusive. Meanwhile, his magical talent had increasingly manifested.
Sometimes Moen wondered if his magical talent was overshadowing his Cosmo aptitude, which might explain why his Cosmo remained dormant.
Looking at his "magic source," which resembled the starry galaxy, Moen sometimes thought it was somewhat like a "Cosmo."
Perhaps the two were already merging into one?
Of course, this was all just Moen's speculation. Only when he truly awakens his Cosmo will the truth be revealed.
Seeing Moen's determined and relentless expression, Gildarts felt even more impressed.
A prodigy who works hard—Moen was truly a standard-bearer.
Because of Moen, even the other children in the guild were becoming more motivated. This boy could inspire others to grow.
Gildarts didn't know that Moen couldn't use other magic yet; he only assumed Moen simply hadn't learned it.
This was completely normal, since Gildarts had never successfully taught anyone else!
When someone realizes the difficulty of learning "Crush," they usually back off wisely.
But Moen was stubborn and persistent—a real "iron-headed" kid. Seeing this, Gildarts got even more motivated. He refused to believe he couldn't teach someone. He was determined to teach Moen!
These two were truly a meeting of equals: a skilled teacher versus a stubborn learner, one had never taught anyone, the other seemed impossible to teach—but one dared to teach, the other dared to learn.
However, their intense training didn't last long, as the other members of Fairy Tail began arriving, clearly coming to see Gildarts.
"Uncle Gildarts!"
Seeing him, Gray was extremely excited. His bond with Gildarts ran deep—he had been brought into the guild by Gildarts himself, and they had always gotten along well.
"Gray, you've grown a bit too."
Gildarts smiled, patting Gray on the head. He was happy to have brought back such an excellent kid to the guild.
Even if Gray didn't turn out to be exceptional, he would have rescued him nonetheless, but it was best that Gray could excel.
Other children in the guild also showed affection toward Gildarts.
Erza, Levy, Cana, Jett, Toby, and even Laxus all showed admiration for him.
Gildarts was the guild's "idol uncle," a middle-aged version of Moen, widely beloved.
And "everyone" included not just the children; even the adult members respected Gildarts.
There was only one exception: Natsu.
At this time, Natsu had only recently joined the guild. This was his first time seeing the legendary strongest mage of Fairy Tail, Gildarts, though he had already heard of his name and remembered it well.
Natsu was ambitious, always seeking strong opponents, wanting to surpass them eventually.
Naturally, he could not ignore Gildarts, the so-called strongest of Fairy Tail.
"This is Natsu, a new member of the guild. He uses Fire Dragon Slayer Magic and is very talented."
Moen brought Natsu over and introduced him to Gildarts, pulling him into the "Gildarts circle."
"Natsu, this is Gildarts!"
Moen looked at Natsu, knowing he would recognize Gildarts' name.
Although he had only known Natsu for a short time, this single-minded, straightforward boy was easy to understand. Moen already grasped his personality completely.
"Hello! I'm Natsu! Gildarts, I challenge you!"
Before Gildarts could speak, Natsu immediately went all-in, directly issuing a solo challenge.
Everyone fell silent, looking at Natsu strangely.
Challenging Moen or Erza might be considered brave.
But challenging Gildarts?
Foolhardy?
"All right!"
No matter what the others thought, Gildarts just smiled and agreed immediately. He was never one to put on airs.
"This kid really has a bit of your old spirit, Moen."
After accepting Natsu's challenge, Gildarts looked at Moen and teased with a smile.
Moen felt a bit embarrassed. After all, he had just done the same thing himself. Natsu's entrance was a classic replay, which was hard to take seriously, but Moen wasn't surprised.
Moen greatly admired Natsu's drive—the fearless, never-stop-forward, always-seeking-to-grow spirit, constantly challenging stronger opponents. This was the essential quality of a true strong fighter.
"Fire Dragon Iron Fist!"
"Bang!"
Natsu launched into the air and landed, dazed, stars spinning around his head.
Everyone fell silent for a moment. Gildarts clapped his hands, looking relaxed.
"It's over. Natsu's strength isn't weak; he's got potential."
Knocking Natsu away with one punch, Gildarts gave an objective assessment. Just by that single punch, he could gauge Natsu's level. Though far from Moen's, it was still impressive, comparable to Gray's level.
"Natsu, wake up. Are you okay?"
Moen ran to Natsu's side, his expression serious, and waved his hand in front of Natsu's eyes as he spoke.
"Not good! Go call Granny Porlyusica!"
After waving twice, Moen's expression suddenly changed. He jumped up and shouted loudly, startling everyone and bringing the scene to a momentary silence.
"Just kidding. Natsu's fine; let him rest a bit."
Before everyone could fully panic, Moen's expression shifted again—from anxious to smiling. He grinned, leaving everyone momentarily stunned.
"You little brat! Stop joking around! Do you think I can't count my moves?!"
Gildarts was the first to react, shaking his head with a helpless smile, realizing he had almost been fooled by the kid.
The other children soon caught on, each starting to tease Moen, and everyone began laughing and playing together.
