Chapter 152 - Chapter 152 “Mercurius,” the Palace of Splendor

"In fact, the people of the royal family are quite good. Our Heartfilia family has quite a lot of contact with them, so our relationship can be considered fairly familiar."

Seeing that Moen agreed to meet the royal family, Jude spoke. It seemed that his relationship with the royal family was quite good.

"It would be best if that were the case. I'm not someone who can tolerate sand in my eyes. If those people from the royal family and government are all a bunch of useless drunkards, I won't hesitate to show them some color."

Moen smiled and spoke, also letting Jude give them a warning in advance.

No matter whether they were royalty or not, if they displeased him, if they were not the same kind of people as him, he would not give them a good face.

Since they insisted on inviting him to meet, then they had better be mentally prepared. The one who would be trembling with fear and walking on thin ice certainly would not be him.

"I believe my judgment is fairly good. The royal family of Fiore is still worth befriending. At least that king is not a foolish ruler."

Jude nodded, understanding Moen's meaning. He seemed to have quite a lot of confidence in the royal family of Fiore and believed they would not leave Moen dissatisfied, or at least would not make him unhappy.

"Alright, I'll go to the royal capital in a couple of days."

Moen nodded, giving Jude some face. He still needed Jude to work seriously, so naturally he had to give the man a little face.

The royal family of Fiore and the Heartfilia family seemed to have some historical ties. For Jude's sake, he would not make things awkward.

A few days later, the "City of Flowers," Crocus.

Moen stepped down from the crow glider and landed in front of a hotel.

The sign of this shop was a bee with a skull head. The hotel was called the Honeybone Hotel, which was quite interesting.

Moen wore a mask on his face, completely covering his appearance. The mask was entirely black-blue and had a strong metallic texture. It was one of the items obtained from the scattered small missions he usually completed.

[Pope's Mask: Conceals one's aura, making it impossible for others to identify the true identity.]

It had to be said that among the pile of fashionable little junk from ordinary mission rewards, this was actually quite a useful item.

It wasn't that the other things were not precious. Things like Orichalcum, Gamanion, and Silver Star Sand were also very valuable; they simply could not be used for the moment.

And this Pope's Mask was very useful for Moen right now. After all, his reputation was too great. Wherever he went, he would become the center of attention. With this mask, things became much more convenient.

After checking into the Honeybone Hotel, Moen began strolling around the City of Flowers, Crocus.

This royal capital was very lively, and the city's scale was also very large. It was more prosperous than Magnolia, and also more prosperous than the "City of Roses," Selvilia. It could only be said that it truly deserved to be called the royal capital.

Come to think of it, this was actually Moen's first time coming to the royal capital, Crocus.

It couldn't be helped. Most of the missions Moen accepted involved going into deep mountains and forests to fight magical beasts. Obviously, the City of Flowers, Crocus did not have commissions that met his requirements.

So it was normal that Moen had never come here. This royal capital was still very safe; it should not suddenly have some magical beast appear for him to fight.

Moen walked forward all the way and arrived at the center of Crocus. Not far away, the royal palace could already be seen. That was "Mercurius," the Palace of Splendor. It looked very stylish, almost like a castle, and carried considerable royal majesty.

"Everyone likes to place their home in the center of the city."

Moen inexplicably thought of this point. Whether it was Phantom Lord in Oak Town, or Fairy Tail in Magnolia, the guild halls were all located in the center of the city. At least locally, their status was roughly comparable to that of Mercurius, the Palace of Splendor.

Moen went all the way to the entrance of Mercurius, and then he was stopped by the guards.

"Important royal palace grounds! No approaching!"

The guards at the entrance of Mercurius had already noticed Moen. Wearing a strange mask and walking straight toward Mercurius, it would have been strange if he had not attracted their attention.

Although this was only the outer city of the palace and there was still some distance before actually entering the palace, the security was already extremely strict. Quite a few soldiers surrounded him, all looking at Moen with vigilance.

Moen removed his mask. Before he even said anything, he heard a burst of exclamations from the royal palace guards in front of him.

"Moen Dreyar!"

"That's the Rose Star who defeated Jose Porla twice!"

The guards cried out in surprise. Clearly, they had all heard Moen's name. This was also the reason why Moen wore a mask. Because of defeating Jose Porla a second time, he had once again become the center of attention. Of course, the explosive popularity of Masayume Chasing was also part of the reason.

One Laxus, one Mirajane, both were also very popular now. But as the person who participated in both matters, Moen was naturally even more famous.

Moreover, the popularity of Moen's earlier first defeat of Jose Porla and The Great Detective Folmos had not faded at all. With several matters combined, he could absolutely be considered one of this year's most influential figures.

A few days ago, at Master Voltava's concert, he had also released a new piece called Fairy Tail's Summer, becoming popular once again. Now it was truly a case of "who in the world does not know you."

"I was invited here for a visit."

Moen smiled and spoke, stopping the commotion among the guards. Fortunately, not many people dared to come near here normally. Otherwise, the moment he removed his mask, a crowd would already have surrounded him.

"Please come in, please come in! Mr. Moen, we had already received notice earlier. Once you arrived, we were to bring you into the inner palace immediately!"

The commander of the guards at the gate spoke with a face full of smiles, while also directing his subordinates to open the city gate. He had already been waiting for Moen for several days. This honored guest had finally arrived.

Moen did not speak, only smiled. When the gate was opened, he followed the guard commander into Mercurius, the Palace of Splendor.

From the outside, Mercurius looked magnificent. The various arrangements inside were naturally very luxurious as well, clearly different from the regular council hall that looked grand outside but was simple inside.

However, comparing the royal palace of the Kingdom of Fiore with the council hall seemed somewhat unfair. After all, that hall was only a place used for meetings.

This royal palace, no matter what, was also the face of the royal family. Appearances had to be decorated more magnificently; otherwise it would be easy for people to look down on it. That was understandable, as long as the palace was not built by squeezing the people dry.

"We've arrived, Mr. Moen. Please go in."

Before long, the guard commander brought Moen into the inner palace and handed him over to a palace guard on duty there to lead him further.

"Up ahead is His Majesty the King's study, Mr. Moen."

Inside the inner palace, the guard led Moen through several twists and turns before finally arriving in front of a study. The door of the study was open. Inside were one old and one young person, an old man and a young girl.
