"I'll need a map of the kingdom," Henry said as he and Violet sat across from each other at the small dining table.
Still wearing only his trousers, he reached for a piece of bread.
Across from him, Violet tried her hardest to keep her gaze fixed on the food before her. Every so often, however, her eyes threatened to wander to his bare chest, and she quickly forced them away.
"I'm afraid I don't have one," she replied, sliding the basket of bread toward him.
Henry accepted it with a quiet nod.
"Would you be willing to go into town and get one for me?" he asked. After a brief pause, he added, "And if possible... a horse as well."
Violet lowered her eyes.
"Your Highness, the only horse we own was taken by my mother this yesterday morning," she explained. "Before she left, she also instructed me not to leave the cottage."
Henry sighed quietly.
"I told her not to be so formal," he mumbled to himself.
