Bite Bay, the Small Finger Peninsula, Witch Island
The Vale Alliance Fleet was currently attacking the Narrow Sea Fleet, which was barely holding a circular formation, in a compound oblique line formation. Davos Seaworth, commander of the Narrow Sea Fleet, ordered the trumpeters to sound the charge.
At this moment, the Narrow Sea Fleet had just finished changing formation and was attacking the fleet used as bait in a three-column circular formation. After their flagship raised a white flag of surrender, many warships chose to surrender.
The two outer circular formations of the Narrow Sea Fleet, upon hearing the charge, began to change formation, preparing to meet the enemy attacking from the north in an oblique line formation. However, because the Narrow Sea Fleet had lost the initiative, the vanguard of the Vale Alliance Fleet had already begun to turn.
This was a "Scythe Tactics" often used in naval battles, taking advantage of speed to seize the initiative and surround the enemy. Whether it was crossbow attacks or boarding actions, the early positioning of the scythe's curve directly affected the later outcome.
Marco was currently sitting on the throne in the deckhouse. Beside him sat Moonshadow and the other five queens, and the two archangels stood on either side of his throne.
After seeing the situation at the scene through Remote Viewing, he promptly issued orders to organize reinforcements, wanting to salvage the disadvantage that was already showing on his side.
After lowering his head and pondering for a moment, Marco ordered the five women around him:
"Nymph, try out your 'King's Summon'. Let's see what's so special about this ancient spell. This is your former home, after all. I bet there'll be some unexpected surprises!"
"Maeve, Mu, you two lead the Griffon Troops and the Archangels to attack the enemy's sails. I'll have Brynden and the others use the dragons to assist you. You must break their offensive and take out some of their ships."
"Danny, Moonshadow, I need you to command the Sea Beast Troops to attack the enemy fleet. Have the Blue Whales and Spotted Whales target the smaller ships, focusing on destroying those Longships. I see them gathering. If it gets too tough, summon the Fire Phoenix!"
The others took their orders and departed. Marco slowly descended from his throne and walked onto the deck. A large number of figures had gathered there. All the Abyssal Nagas were assembled, and a large group of Merfolk slaves stood by the ship's side.
After completing the "decapitation operation", they discovered the enemy's new wave of attacks. Tristan Sunderland was about to order an offensive when he received Marco's message.
Upon seeing Marco appear, Tristan Sunderland hurried over and asked him:
"Your Majesty, we were just about to go fight the enemy. Why did you call us back?"
His tone was full of anxiety. They wanted to eliminate the enemy and prove their worth to Marco, but they had to obey Marco's orders. So, all they could do was worry.
Marco smiled slightly and comforted him:
"I brought you here to help the Fourth Queen subdue the deep-sea creatures that may appear in this sea area. You will lead them later.
Since it's the first time I'm using this spell, I must ensure there are no problems, and you are the most suitable guards."
Upon hearing this, Tristan Sunderland's bitter expression on his fish face instantly disappeared. Then, he excitedly asked Marco:
"Really? Your Majesty, I knew you wouldn't forget us. We are ready to eliminate all enemies. Hurry up! You bastards, drive those fish-heads away; don't disturb Her Majesty the Queen!
We'll soon have new subordinates to command. Hurry up, you lot! And keep them in a circle, I'm talking about a circle, you idiots! We've become Abyssal Nagas, not idiotic fish! Hurry, hurry!"
After Nymph saw that the surrounding Merfolk had dispersed, she looked at Marco. After receiving his affirmation, Nymph jumped off the deck and into the sea, immediately returning to her mermaid form.
Due to long-term consumption of the Vitality Magic Spring, coupled with Marco's "love" as "assistance," a massive amount of magic power caused Nymph's bloodline to awaken again, and eventually, she evolved to level 7.
After her mana reached 100 points, Nymph gained a unique skill called "King's Summon." Nymph hadn't had a chance to use it, and the system's description was very simple: it could awaken creatures connected by bloodline.
This vague description kept Marco from using it, because the creatures linked by bloodline to Nymph were the Deep Divers.
It wasn't until the big battle in White Harbor that Nymph vaguely understood how to use the skill and how to control its power.
Marco had been relying on his mana control skills and Nymph's deductions to analyze the skill's permissions. Finally, a little over a month ago, they managed to grasp its rules and how to use it.
Nymph, having fallen into the sea, was gently lifted by the waves. Once her mind was calm, she began to chant a spell. This spell came from the most ancient Deep Divers language, the first language used by the earliest members of their bloodline.
However, it was less a language and more like a call, similar to whale song, somewhat akin to the Old Tongue of the Children of the Forest.
The chanting became a rhythmic sound wave, extending down through the water, causing vibrations on the seabed. In a certain crevice on the ocean floor, things that looked like stone statues were scattered about.
As the sound waves spread, the vibrations reached them. Cracks appeared on the statues, and then they began to break apart.
One by one, creatures resembling merfolk emerged from the fissure, quickly appearing above the trench. They huddled together, communicating in some mysterious language, seemingly discussing something.
Just then, in the dark area directly below the trench, three massive creatures suddenly revealed themselves. They looked very similar to the octopus monsters Marco had encountered in White Harbor, only not as large.
Furthermore, the strength of these three creatures wasn't comparable to the giant octopus monster. Their power was also considerably weaker, suggesting they were just a specific type of creature.
As the incantation progressed, a special energy gathered around Nymph. A massive magic circle slowly took shape, aided by the rolling waves. The merfolk in the sea seemed to be guided by something, immediately surfacing.
About ten minutes later, the three giant octopus monsters, leading a large number of merfolk, appeared within the magic circle. They were densely packed together, like sardines caught in a net.
Upon seeing Nymph's original form, the three octopus monsters were clearly displeased. However, they seemed to sense the suppression from her bloodline, and for a moment, they seemed to understand something.
Their discontent didn't seem to diminish much. One of the larger octopus monsters stepped forward, letting out a low growl, as if questioning Nymph's identity.
Its tone was full of arrogance and disdain, putting on an air of superiority. Nymph, however, didn't answer and continued chanting the spell, maintaining the magic circle.
The large octopus monster seemed to be enraged by Nymph's attitude, letting out an even more ferocious roar. The terrifying aura forced the surrounding merfolk to frantically retreat.
Although Marco was far away, he could still hear the insult in its words. Just as Marco was about to strike and eliminate the octopus-head,
Four Abyssal Naga Chieftains roared and charged forward. The surrounding merfolk were knocked away, unable and unwilling to intervene.
Tristan Sunderland and the other three attacked in unison, directly injuring the octopus monster. Their water-attribute attacks didn't inflict any serious, fatal damage, though.
Their attacks left the octopus monster covered in wounds, and the dark green blood flowing from them stained the surrounding seawater.
Immediately after, the four Abyssal Naga Chieftains wielded their weapons and charged at the octopus monster. The Abyssal Nagas used special obsidian weapons, made by inlaying obsidian blades onto the bones of marine creatures.
The Abyssal Nagas would secrete a special mucus, which, when stimulated by magic, would coat the weapon's surface with a special protective layer.
This made the weapons incredibly tough, able to withstand clashes with iron weapons without damage. The only drawbacks were their weight and the inability to apply the coating to iron weapons.
The four behemoths took a mere three minutes to dismember the giant octopus monster. The surrounding Merfolk didn't dare to resist. The other two octopus monsters were bound by the magic array and couldn't move, forced to watch their leader be killed.
Tristan Sunderland held up the hideous octopus head and roared at the Merfolk trapped within the magic array. His strange roar contained peculiar syllables that made the surrounding Merfolk tremble.
Following that, Nymph emitted a terrifying pressure, immediately silencing all the surrounding aquatic creatures. Then, Marco received a system prompt.
"Ding! Congratulations, Host, 1,000 Abyssal Merfolk, admiring your greatness, have decided to join your team, cost: 0."
"Ding! Congratulations, Host, 2 Krakens, intimidated by your powerful aura, will join your team, cost: 0."
Abyssal Merfolk
Creature Level: Level 3
Description: These Merfolk possess the bloodline of Deep Divers and are the foundational force of the Deep Blue Civilization. They are chaotic and berserk, capable of eliminating all enemies for their master.
Characteristics: Berserk (Attack power instantly increases by 200%, and becomes indiscriminate, attacking all living beings.) Carnivore (Consuming flesh can quickly heal their injured bodies.)
Kraken (Special)
Description: Although similar to the Kraken in the world of Aushan, these behemoths are a different species, but share the same bloodthirsty and berserk biological traits.
Characteristics: Regeneration, Tentacle Wrap (Similar to the Ent's Entangling ability, can continuously damage the entangled target.) Fear Aura (Causes nearby targets to fear, reducing morale, and even causing them to flee.)
"Roar..."
With the Kraken's roar, the Abyssal Merfolk also howled and charged towards the fleet already engaged in a chaotic battle. The Abyssal Naga drove them from behind, directing them towards their targets.
At this moment, the battlefield was in a stalemate. The Narrow Sea Fleet, due to the need to gather the decoy fleet's ships, could only send out around 80 warships to counter the enemy's attack.
The Valley's United Fleet had already begun to change formation, gradually encircling the Narrow Sea Fleet. Due to the loss of the initiative, they could now only engage the enemy in boarding combat.
The commander of the Valley United Fleet was Rona Royce, a distant relative of the Royce family from Rune City, and also the commander of the Seagull Town fleet.
This joint fleet was primarily composed of the Seagull Town fleet. During the Targaryen dynasty, the Grafton family held absolute control over Seagull Town, their position akin to the Redwyne family in Highgarden under the Tyrells, or the Frey family in Riverrun under the Tullys.
However, due to the establishment of the new dynasty, coupled with their misjudgment of allegiances, the Grafton family's influence in Seagull Town rapidly waned, and they lost control of the fleet.
Although the Grafton family participated in this joint fleet, they were still firmly controlled by the Royce family. Rona Royce dared not put the Grafton family's people in the forefront, but he still arranged them in the second rank.
The purpose was to deplete the Grafton family's strength during the war, and the Grafton family's warships were all large sailing ships, which were not conducive to surprise attacks or evading dragon attacks.
Just as the warships of both sides were about to approach, the sounds of dragon roars and eagle screeches echoed from the sky. Upon seeing the dragons and griffins approaching, the dragon-hunting crossbows on the warships launched many bolts.
Their target was Marco's three dragons. Fortunately, Brynden and Aegon discovered the situation in advance and directed their dragons to quickly pull away from that area.
However, the Crystal Dragon was not so lucky. It was directly hit in the abdomen by three bolts. Fortunately, the Crystal Dragon was not an Ice Dragon or a Fire Dragon. Although its attack was the weakest, it had the highest defense among the four dragons.
Moreover, because the Crystal Dragon's size was too massive, and without Marco to control it, it suffered severe injuries. Marco, upon discovering this, immediately used "Teleport" to move towards the Crystal Dragon's location. After using it three times in a row, Marco finally landed stably on the Crystal Dragon's back.
At this time, the Crystal Dragon could only barely circle in the air. It desperately flew upwards, trying to escape the range of the crossbow bolts, and a trickle of blood flowed from its wounds.
Marco intermittently used "Teleport" in the air. When he appeared on the Crystal Dragon's back, the Crystal Dragon was still a little flustered, but Marco calmed it down in time.
After the Crystal Dragon calmed down, Marco used "Vitality Regeneration" on it. Under the effect of the powerful light magic, the crossbow bolts embedded in the Crystal Dragon's body were slowly pushed out.
This situation shocked the people in the fleet below, who were still cheering. At first, they were happy about the successful dragon slaying, believing the dragon would fall from the sky.
But as the Crystal Dragon recovered, they began to feel fear. Facing an enemy that couldn't be eliminated, everyone was a little afraid.
At this moment, Marco also discovered the arrangement on these warships through Remote Viewing. It turned out that these warships were all equipped with hidden giant dragon-hunting crossbows.
This kind of dragon-hunting crossbow was somewhat similar to an anti-aircraft gun on Earth. It could be adjusted through a special mechanism to allow the crossbow bolts to shoot at an angle of nearly 180 degrees. It seemed that only the Academy and Mir could manufacture such sophisticated weapons.
Boom…
Under the command of Aegon and Brynden, "Green Dream" and the ice dragon climbed to a high altitude and launched a diving attack directly at the fleet below. It was precisely because of this flying method that the dragon hunter crossbows failed to hit their mark.
However, this flying method placed extremely high demands on the dragon riders. If it weren't for the fact that the two of them were extraordinary, they would have likely been knocked unconscious by the downward force.
Soon, three warships were accurately hit by dragon breath. Normally, even though the dragons would also use diving attacks, they would find it difficult to sustain a continuous dragon breath attack on the enemy.
Following that, Marco also rode on a crystal flying dragon and attacked. Crystal breath was specifically aimed at areas with many people or the sterns of the ships.
After the rudders were crystallized, many ships collided directly. The griffons then flew up to the masts, destroying the ropes holding the sails or directly damaging the sails.
