As night fell, everything was asleep. In Jing Yuan's quiet room, a group of people appeared, bowing in unison:
"Your subordinates are late, we beg your forgiveness, young master."
Jing Yuan waved his hand, his voice calm:
"Rise, all of you."
The leader spoke up:
"Young master, what are your plans now? Do you need me to send someone to assassinate that young master Gu?"
Jing Yuan chuckled softly, his voice cold:
"No need to rush. Now, go investigate all the information about Gu Yunxiang for me."
"Yes, sir."
With that, he dismissed them all. In the darkness, Jing Yuan smiled mysteriously, muttering:
"This kid is quite interesting… I need to keep an eye on him for a while longer…"
The next morning, before the sun had even risen, the servants in the mansion had already begun their work. A group of maids huddled together, chatting as they worked:
"Do you know the man the mistress bought for the young master at the auction? They say he's very handsome… but he's all looks, nothing special."
While they were gossiping, the butler entered, his face stern:
"Why aren't you getting back to work? Gathering around gossiping about the young master, do you want to pack your bags and leave the mansion?"
Everyone jumped, quickly dispersing to get back to work. The butler turned around and was surprised to find Jing Yuan standing there. He was startled and speechless: "Why didn't I sense anything?"
Jing Yuan smirked slightly, his voice low and cold:
"What do I have to do?"
The butler narrowed his eyes at her face, then cleared his throat and replied:
"You… are the person the mistress bought for the young master, so from now on you will be his personal servant. Now go wake the young master and prepare breakfast."
Jing Yuan didn't refuse, only nodded:
"Then I'll go first."
The butler watched his retreating figure, thinking to himself, "This guy... there's something unusual about him." But then he shook his head: "Maybe I'm just getting old and overthinking things."
In Gu Yunxiang's room, he was still fast asleep. Jing Yuan knocked on the door:
"It's time to wake up, young master."
After knocking several times without a response, Jing Yuan impatiently pushed the door open and entered, softly saying,
"Excuse me."
Approaching the bed, he saw the boy sleeping soundly, his face peaceful. He silently observed him. His gaze lingered on the boy's neck, his breath catching in his throat. He thought to himself, "It's true what they say... the young master of the Gu family is indeed very handsome."
He regained his slightly dazed expression and gently shook the boy:
"Wake up, young master."
I vaguely opened my eyes, rubbed them, and yawned a few times. His kitten-like gestures made him think to himself, "Truly… worth observing."
I stammered, still half-asleep, "You are…"
"I am the young master's servant," Jing Yuan replied calmly.
He leaned down slightly, frowning, his gaze sharp:
"Could it be that the young master doesn't remember?"
I froze, stepping back slightly, cautiously observing Jing Yuan before finally remembering to speak:
"Ah… that's right… you are… Jing Yuan?"
He took in my actions and said indifferently, "That's right. From now on, I will be your close servant, young master."
I was surprised, but quickly understood, saying, "Um… then… then you go outside first, I'll come down after I change."
He looked at me with a slightly profound gaze, his voice still cold:
"I am the young master's servant, of course I have to stay and help you change clothes. How could I leave?"
I hesitated, feeling a little flustered, and said,
"But…but…"
Before I could finish, he gently pushed me into the dressing room. While I was changing, Jing Yuan noticed my ears were flushed red, a playful glint flashed in his eyes, but it quickly disappeared.
Seeing his bewildered expression, I asked,
"Are you… alright?"
Jing Yuan shook his head slightly, his face cold and expressionless:
"I'm fine. Change your clothes and come down for breakfast. The madam and the master are waiting."
I nodded, still feeling a little flustered, and after changing, I went downstairs with Jing Yuan. My parents happily called out,
"A Xiang, come down for breakfast!"
Seeing this, I felt happy, though still a little flustered:
"Yes…yes!"
After finishing our meal, I turned and called out,
"Kình Uyên, will you come with me?"
He didn't answer, only nodded slightly. Seeing this, I happily took Kình Uyên's hand and headed to the car, saying, "Okay... okay, let's go."
Kình Uyên was a little flustered by my hand, but he didn't pull away. He was curious about where I was going. When we arrived, he was slightly surprised to find we were at a charity. He thought to himself, "This place..." Then, Kình Uyên silently observed my every move, his eyes deep and thoughtful, as if he were plotting something.
We stayed there until evening before returning home. After dinner, I went to the bathroom. Sitting in the bathtub, I reflected on everything that had happened today, feeling strangely happy.
But then I also wondered if I was being too selfish.
Lost in thought, I slipped and fell to the floor as I was about to step out, letting out a soft cry of pain. Outside, Jing Yuan immediately rushed in.
Before him was the sight of me lying on top of him, wrapped in a towel, my face throbbing with pain, the pheromone scent of white tea mixed with jasmine wafting through the room, creating an indescribable scene... Jing Yuan stood there stunned. Seeing this, I softly called out:
"Jing… Jing Yuan…?"
He finally came to his senses, coughed softly, and extended his hand:
"Young master, are you alright?"
I was now completely bewildered.Realizing her embarrassing situation, she turned away:
"You... you go outside! I... I can stand on my own!"
I thought to myself, "How embarrassing..."
Seeing this, Jing Yuan didn't say a word but lifted me up, much to my surprise. I was flustered and embarrassed, saying, "Brother... what are you doing? Put me down!"
Ignoring my words, Jing Yuan's expression remained unchanged as he replied, "If you don't want to fall, stay still... young master."
Hearing this, I wanted to say something, but looking at his cold face, I hesitated, and finally said nothing, obediently letting Jing Yuan carry me back to the room.
Because of the close proximity, I could smell a faint scent from Jing Yuan, seemingly cedar wood. For some reason, I blushed involuntarily.
Seeing my reaction, Jing Yuan said nothing, just continued straight ahead... he seemed completely emotionless.
After placing me on the bed... He only said a few words and then left without looking back.
