I shifted in my chair, my hands stretched forward as Rosella began to speak.
"Trust in myself is what kept me going, and I hope the meal I have prepared today will wow the King and the lords," Rosella said as she bowed and moved forward.
"Your Highness," she bowed again as she stood before me, but did not meet my eyes.
After our argument, we barely spoke to one another.
"This meal that I have prepared today is called Mother's Sweetness," she said with a deep sigh.
"Although that is not its original name, I decided to call it that," she paused and stepped closer to the lords.
"I must confess she smells wonderful today," Varak commented and laughed.
"Was there any day when she did not smell wonderful?" I asked, only realizing I had spoken aloud when Varak began to laugh.
"Hush," I told him.
"Okay, Alpha King," Varak replied and laughed again.
