ROMEO'S POV
"What did the teacher say?", I asked Xander on our way home.
"She wanted yo know what happened", he responded.
"Let me guess, you lied to her", I said looking at him.
"Focus Romeo, I don't plan on getting involved in another accident. And no, I didn't lie to her", he said to me.
"But you still lied, I mean you didn't tell her everything", I said.
"Stop judging me Romeo, I'm already going through enough", he said angrily.
"What are you going to do about Cassandra now?", I asked changing the subject.
"Oh my goodness! Can you please let me be?", he yelled in annoyance.
"Okay, fine fine", I responded.
"One last question", I said after some silence.
He looked at me and signed.
"Yes, what I said to Lucille is the truth. I love her, but not romantically. I would never kiss her", he said looking away.
"What about Cassandra?", I asked him.
"What about her?", he asked clearly annoyed.
"Don't you love her?", I asked.
"Dude, I hate her!", he said looking at me angrily.
"If her name wasn't Cassandra, would you have given her a chance?", I asked when we got to his house.
"No, she's too nosy. I wouldn't like her", he said getting out of the car.
"Okay, I would come pick you up tomorrow. Wait for me", I said while he walked away.
I was almost home when a car stopped right in front of mine. I stepped on the breaks immediately. I walked out of the car angrily to confront the person.
I took a step back when I saw the person, it was Xanders father.
"Do you think you can protect him?", he asked getting out of his car.
"What do you want from me?", I asked boldly.
"Stay away from him", he said walking closer to me.
"No, he's my friend, my brother, I would always protect him from people like you", I said stepping back.
"You don't know the entire truth, he hasn't told you", he said laughing.
I got into my car immediately and drove away, the look on his face frightened me. What did he even mean by me not knowing the entire truth.
I got home shortly, immediately I entered the house I could feel something was not right.
"Mom", I called out.
"I'm in my room", my mom responded almost out of breath.
I rushed to my moms room and everything was broken. Her television, lamp, laptop, everything.
"Are you okay mom? What happened here?", I asked helping her stand.
"Xander's father came here, he said stay away from Xander", my mom said wiping her tears.
"Did he hit you?", I asked angrily.
"He slapped me", my mom responded.
"Let's go to the police station, he has to pay", I said angrily.
"No, he's going to kill you", my mom replied.
"He won't, he can't, let's go now", I said.
"You're not listening Romeo, he isn't working alone, if we get him arrested people would look for you and kill you", my mom yelled with tears in her eyes.
"Stay away from Xander", she added.
I looked at her in disbelief, how could she say such a thing.
"I won't, Xander needs me now more than ever and I'd do everything I can to.."
I couldn't complete my statement, my mom slapped me.
I touched my cheek and looked at her in shock. Did she just slap me?
"Stay away from him! I lost your dad not long ago. I don't plan on loosing you too", she said angrily.
I walked out and went to my room, I couldn't control my tears. I didn't know what to do, should I just stay away from Xander?
CASSANDRA'S POV
Oh my God! What do I do now? I'm already running late for church and now my car has break down.
I took out my phone to call my mechanic, and as if my day could not get any worse, the phone had run out of battery.
I pulled out the keys from the car and stood outside trying to get a taxi. I was about to stop one when I saw someone jogging towards me, it was Xander.
My eyes lit up instantly, I couldn't stop smiling. I was suddenly thankful my car broke down.
"You prefer night jogging?", I asked when he got closer to me.
"What are you doing here?", he asked ignoring my question.
"My car broke down, I'm already running late for church", I responded.
"There's more peace in it, that's why I prefer jogging at night. See you when I see you", he said wearing his headset.
"Wait", I said holding him.
He pulled away immediately and cleaned where I held with his face towel.
"Sorry, I was wondering if I could follow you to your house. I want to charge my phone", I said.
I felt so embarrassed, why did he clean where I held?
"No you can't, bye", he said and left.
All the joy I had vanished, why and how did I fall in love with such a mean person?
I stopped a taxi and entered, I turned to look at my car when I saw Xander coming back.
He wasn't jogging this time around, he was running very fast.
"Stop the car please", I said to the taxi driver.
I stepped outside and called out his name, he run to the car and entered immediately.
"Get inside, let's go", he said panting.
When the car moved I turned to see what was after him, it was three men. They looked very angry.
"Why were they after you?", I asked after a brief silence.
"Are you still going to the church?", he asked ignoring my question again.
"No, I'm going home", I responded.
"Okay good, can I stay the night?", he asked looking at me.
How could I possibly say no to such a face, Xander is by far the most attractive guy I have ever seen.
"Yes sure, there are many spare rooms. My family wouldn't mind", I said smiling.
"Why are you smiling so much? You're scaring me", he said looking away.
"Where is everyone?", he asked when we entered my house.
"My parents are always outside the country, my nanny practically raised me up", I said to him.
"Where's my room?", he asked looking around.
"Follow me", I said before going upstairs.
"This is your room, and this is mine", I said pointing to two rooms.
"Is there no other room apart from the one closest to yours?", he asked raising an eye brow.
"Come inside", I said opening the door to the room in which he'd sleep.
I heard him sigh behind me, I let out a faint laugh. I could hold it back, he's so cute when he's irritated.
